13 Shows to Watch This Fall

With summer coming to an end, long gone will be the days spent under the sun with our loved ones and the relaxing jogs on our favorite park trails — but of course, every end comes with it a new beginning (and in this case, a new season).

Although we’ll miss this breezy feeling, the arrival of fall means the comfort of sweater weather, the social acceptance of all things pumpkin spice, and the start (and return) of our favorite shows. Here, we’ve listed some to look forward to.

1. Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Brothers

Where: NBC
When: September 2017

The Menendez brothers were tried for murdering their parents in their Beverly Hills home, but it’s the why and how that leaves us with chills.  As a spin-off to the hit franchise Law & Order, this is an 8-episode series on the well-known American murder case that has left the nation distraught yet completely drawn to it.

2. Young Sheldon

Where: CBS
When: September 2017

If you can’t get enough of The Big Bang Theory, you won’t want to miss out on what led Sheldon Cooper to become one of America’s favorite eccentric characters in it. This show follows 9-year-old Sheldon though his childhood in East Texas and sheds light on everything that makes him who he is (and why he’s so lovable).

3. How to Get Away with Murder, season 4

Where: ABC
When: September 2017

The cast is back in this gripping show by Shonda Rhimes, and they’re taking off where they left us hanging in season 3 (no hard feelings). We won’t put any spoilers in this, but all we want to know is how Laurel is and how we’ll feel once we find out.

4. The Orville

Where: Fox
When: September 2017

Join the 25th century on Earth with this new comedy series as a quirky crew finds themselves facing issues with one another and the fact that they live in outer space.

5. Will & Grace, season 9

Where: NBC
When: September 2017

Nothing says 90s nostalgia quite like seeing the iconic cast of this show back together for a reunion. Good things take time, and after 10 years of waiting, we’re ready for this one.

6. The Mindy Project, season 6

Where: Hulu
When: September 2017

Source: Giphy

Calling all Mindy lovers — this is the last season of the show and leaves off with Mindy’s huge decision from season 5 (we promised no spoilers!). Goodbyes to our favorite shows are hard, so don’t mind us as we mentally prepare ourselves for this one.

7. Stranger Things, season 2

Where: Netflix
When: October 2017

The introduction of Stranger Things pretty much had every person born in the decade of the 80s crying over their childhood and the simpler days when cell phones didn’t exist. Thankfully, season 2 is coming out and is set a year after the events in season 1. Cue the tears as we learn more about the Upside Down world and the truth about Eleven.

8. Riverdale, season 2

Where: The CW
When: October 2017

Season 1 of Riverdale was the perfect combination of teen angst and scandal. The upcoming season will leave off where it ended with us wondering what’ll happen to Jughead and pretending that we hate Cheryl (when we actually love her). #RiverdaleStrong

9. The Gifted

Where: Fox
When: October 2017

As a Marvel show, the plot of teenagers discovering their powers is one that sits well for all comic fans. However, what happens when the father of one of the teens is a part of a government that rounds up anyone who is deemed different? Stay tuned.

10. Jane the Virgin, season 4

Where: The CW
When: October 2017

Source: Giphy

This show comes off as cute and light-hearted until you find yourself emotionally connected to every character and losing hours of sleep because you’re binging each episode. But no need to binge-watch anymore, because season 4 is coming and we can’t wait.

11. Dynasty

Where: The CW
When: October 2017

Gossip Girl and The O.C. may have ended, but the producers of these shows aren’t done playing with our feelings. Behold: the newest show based off a wealthy family who has everything — except peace between the daughter and her soon-to-be mother.

12. Valor

Where: The CW
When: October 2017

This is a military drama and conspiracy thriller about a mission that went wrong and the length of secrets in the government and military surrounding it. With a female lead, Valor provides insight on human ethics and what it truly takes to be defined as a hero.

13. New Girl, season 7

Where: Fox
When: TBA

Source: Giphy

After its debut in 2011, this quirky comedy is now coming to an end with it’s upcoming final season. We aren’t sure about you, but we’ll miss the cast of this show and all the random Jess moments that kept us laughing and waiting for more.
