5 Drugstore Beauty Buys for Fall

  • Copy by: Megan Stokes

There’s a whole lot to love about the cooler temperatures that are heading our way. Sure, pumpkin spice lattes and blanket scarves are great, but for me, one of the most exciting things about fall is the chance to try new makeup. It’s a big celebration that I can finally put on makeup again without feeling like it’s going to melt off my skin! Not only that, but the change of seasons brings about a lot of new releases in the beauty world that are a ton of fun to explore.

So, I scoured the makeup shelves at my local CVS Pharmacy, found some new products for around $10 each, and took them home for a test. Today I’m sharing my five favorites—the products your beauty bag needs this fall.

1. Make Up Academy (MUA) Complete Brow Kit

This kit includes everything you need to perfect your brows: two universally flattering shades, a wax for creating the brow shape, a gel for locking it all in place, and a dual ended brush for applying it all. For me, the formula performs better than so many high-end brow products I’ve tried and the packaging is amazing. Having everything all together in one mirrored compact is super convenient—and for $12? Steal!

2. Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy Longwear Nail Envy in “Perfect Pair”

A nude polish is a great way to elongate the fingers—and the mauve tone of this polish is on trend for fall. The formula applies just as beautifully as gel polish and it’s long wearing, too!

3. Covergirl Katy Kat Matte Lipstick in “Maroon Meow”

The new matte lip for fall is actually the demi-matte—and that’s just the finish this lipstick gives. It feels soft and creamy on the lips, while looking velvety and soft. Not to mention, it stays in place for hours and comes in ten other gorgeous shades created in collaboration by one of our favorite girls, Katy Perry.

4. Maybelline Facestudio Master Contour V-Shape Duo Stick

A 2-in-1 product that promises killer cheekbones with one easy glide? Sign. Me. Up. This highlighting and contouring duo is creamy and blends easily (especially with a damp beauty sponge right after foundation!), but it dries to a beautiful matte finish. Apply the dark side along your jawline and the hollows of your cheeks to contour, then use the light end to highlight and enhance features. This product comes in three shades: light, medium, and deep.

5. NYX Baked Blush in “Chiffon”

Here’s another 2-in-1 product to really love. This baked blush is packed full of pigments that will give a natural flush in a warm shade that’s perfect for the season. But what makes it really special? It has a luxurious highlighter mixed into the formula that’s not going to leave your cheeks glittery—just full of glow and gorgeous. Want a little extra intensity? Apply this product with a wet beauty sponge!

I was able to get all of these awesome products at my local CVS Pharmacy for under $50 after catching a couple in-store deals. With weekly deals storewide and membership benefits from their loyalty program Beauty Club, there are tons of ways to save on brands you love and discover new ones without breaking the bank!

Another reason I love shopping CVS Pharmacy for beauty products? It’s risk-free to try new products thanks to a 100% satisfaction beauty guarantee on beauty purchases. If you’re dissatisfied for any reason, you can return the beauty product (opened or unopened) along with your receipt to any store for a full-price refund, no questions asked!
