Girl Behind the Blog: Siubhan Tait
Occupation: Book editor and proofreader
Where are you from and where do you currently reside?
I’m originally from the Isle of Islay in the Scottish Inner Hebrides, but nowadays I live in Bristol, England.
What can people expect to find when they visit your blog?
There’s a famous Camille Pissarro quotation that I found written on a wall in an art gallery last year: ‘Blessed are they who see beautiful things in humble places’. It’s a phrase that I always have at the back of my mind when I blog, and visitors can expect to find posts about small things that have unexpected connections, books, fashion, the countryside, and the things I see around me.
What influences and inspires you in your blogging?
I’m constantly inspired by reading great writing, whether on other blogs, in newspapers, or in fiction – it always motivates me to try and improve. Aside from that, I find I’m very influenced by the beautiful scenery we have in Britain – I’ve visited so many fascinating places I would never have seen if it hadn’t been for the blog.

What kind of camera do you use?
I generally use a Canon 400D, but when I’m not desperate for the pictures right away I use a Pentax MZ-50 film camera.
What are your favorite things to do in your free time?
I grew up by the sea, so whenever I have proper free time, I tend to gravitate towards the nearest coastline. I especially love the sea in the winter. Otherwise, I read as much as possible and spend the rest of the time trying to put myself in situations where eating amazing food is on the cards!
