When it came time to plan our Boston trip, making reservations at Chef Evan Deluty’s Stella in the South End was an easy decision. The restaurant came highly recommended by almost everyone we spoke to and if that wasn’t enough, there’s truffle oil in the linguine. Table for four, please!
We enjoyed a lovely dinner with the charming Erin and Andrew Gates who live in neighborhood and consider Stella a local favorite. The evening began with some cocktails—two of which we highly recommend (see details below)—which were eventually followed by an array of wine pairings. Chef Brett Williams whipped up a delicious tasting including the best beet salad we’ve ever had, truffle oil linguine (Alaina’s favorite of the evening), a tagliatelle bolognese, and swordfish. Then came the dessert which included two of Danielle’s favorites: tiramisu and apple crostada. Three hours later, we were feeling pretty good.
Even though it was a Tuesday evening, every table in the restaurant was sat—a testament to the quality of the dining experience. But despite the crowd, the all-white interior still felt warm and intimate and was never too loud for conversation. It’s cozy in the winter and has a lovely patio for a little dining al fresco in the summer months. Located in Boston’s South End, which is one of Boston’s main restaurant districts, you’ll find Stella nestled along a tree-lined street surrounded by beautiful shops, brick roads, and centuries old architecture.
This is the perfect place to enjoy a girls’ night, a business dinner, or a romantic meal for two. Whether you’re stopping in for brunch, their $5 appetizer menu (served from 4-6pm Monday – Friday), dinner, or a little late night dining or dessert, we highly recommend Stella during your stay in Boston.
