Coffee Talk: Family Feuds

The Everygirl_Family Feuds

Family feuds have stood the test of time — Cain versus Abel. Teresa versus Melissa. Mary, Queen of Scots, versus Elizabeth.

Okay, so we know your family feud is probably not as dramatic (or bloody) (or aired on national television). Still, everyone can relate.

Whether there’s some distance between you and a sibling, troubles between your parents, or simply unresolved issues amongst your extended family, not one person can escape this slightly unfortunate fact: each family, no matter how similar or different, has it’s own complex set of problems.

And those problems inevitably cause a good amount of stress. We want to know, how do you cope with family troubles?

I luckily live alone so I leave who’s ever house I’m at to cool down before I make any damaging comments.

This probably sounds silly but I go for a bike ride! It helps me think clearer and it makes me feel good.

When a moment of family tension arises, I personally like to talk it out. There is nothing worst then letting a disagreement build up. Use kind words with one another and get to the bottom of the issue. After all, your family is forever.

I build a shelf and shelve it. And just like any other thing we keep on shelves, once every while, I take it down and go through it. At this time, I wouldn’t be as affected or emotional so it works out for me.

I have not spoken to my brother in months, because he crossed the line with his mouth. This is how I have chosen to handle it, it is not the best way but it works for me.I love my brother but find him difficult to communicate with. I will eventually forgive him and will speak to him.

Talk it out. Silence breeds anger, confusion and rivalry.
