I’d like to say my favorite Christmas movie is an ultimate classic, but its not ;) My favs are Elf and The Santa Claus (1 & 2).  I also like The Holiday with Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet.  When it comes to music, my go to’s are Christina Aguleria and Michael Buble’s Christmas albums.  I’m currently loving the new She & Him Christmas Album.  Oh and give me Kenny G or Harry Connick Jr Christmas music any day!!

To many to choose from! I love Home Alone, of course. Lately, it’s been The Polar Express that gets to me.

I love the classics – we (me and my cousins) always watched White Christmas with my grandparents – Vera Ellen was my favorite.  And I also absolutely love It’s a Wonderful Life…… “every time a bell rings an angel gets his wings” :)

That’s a hard one, but every year I watch Love Actually at least once.

The Holiday or Elf. Completely different. Both awesome.

Christmas in Connecticut with Barbara Stanwyck. I watched this with my mom when I was a little girl, it’s an old fashioned romantic comedy that I continue to watch every year. If you like old films don’t miss this one! I like wrapping gifts to White Christmas, Home Alone motivates me to shop, A Christmas Story and Miracle on 34th st.,with my sisters and last but not least Holiday Inn and every year my family watches A Christmas Carol on Christmas Eve!

  • Caroline Lopez

Love actually! I just love the music in it and of course Home alone

  • http://www.katskull.com Kat Skull

    Hands down – Elf!

I love Stepmom (just because it’s set around the holidays, I guess), Miracle on 34th Street (the newer version – I love Mara Wilson in it!), and Love Actually. Now I feel like I need to put one on tonight…haha

  • Noley6677

Polar express… I remember how sad I was when I understood Santa… This movie makes me smile.

  • Alyssa Gapske

    Elf!

  • mylifeasateacup

Love Actually is a must watch, but it’s not Christmas without singing along with Heatmiser and Coldmiser in The Year Without a Santa Claus!

  • Maria

Home Alone is such a classic!  My absolute favorite is Love Actually!

  • http://profiles.google.com/elkennedy11 Emma Kennedy

Pretty much any classic animated movie is a must-see during the holiday-preferably when it is actually airing, though I do have them on DVD. Rudolph, Merry Christmas Charlie Brown, and Frosty the Snowman are family traditions.

  • http://www.tobeluminous.blogspot.com Heidi Lyn

I love Christmas Vacation & the Holiday!

  • Kylie Rae

‘Miracle on 24th Street’ has been a favorite of mine since I can remember. I love that the story behind it is to simply BELIEVE! Such a great movie and will instantly put you in the Holiday spirit!

  • Olivia Silvestri

    The Holiday!

  • Barb

For as long as I can remember, it has been the newer Miracle on 34th Street!  The FIRST Christmas movie that is watched every year with my boyfriend though, is Elf (actually watched it last night lol!)

  • Melanie Beatus

LOVE LOVE LOVE … Love actually (redundant with the love’s, but it’s just so true).  Quite possibly the happiest movie ever.

  • Jenna

    The Holiday! LOVE.

While you were sleeping, Love Actually, and ELF!!!!

  • Dncamup

    Nat’t Lampoon’s Christmas : )

  • Betsy Thompson

There are so many good ones! White Christmas for sure. Followed closely with Home Alone, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, and Elf. I also have to watch 200 Cigarettes right before new year’s eve!

  • Danielle Yumol

    Die Hard!

  • Kelsey McPherson

I’m really not sure how you’re supposed to pick just one! I think I’ll keep it classic though with White Christmas. But then there’s Christmas in Connecticut…and then of course It’s a Wonderful Life. Le sigh.

    • Kim

Christmas in Connecticut is my fave, the one with Barbara Stanwyck of course! They remade it with Dyan Cannon, so so. They are releasing another remake of it in 2013 with Jennifer Garner, interesting!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1921626 Hillary Dixon

One of my favorites, which isn’t so much a classic is Christmas with the Kranks! It’s hilarious! I also do love the classics and as a sappy one, Jack Frost with Michael Keaton!

  • http://littleshoeone.blogspot.com/ HeatherAnn

Is it really cheesy to say any of the movies on the Hallmark Channel, Lifetime or ABC Family? haha

My all-time favorite is White Christmas but I also love The Holiday and A Muppet’s Christmas Carol ;) -among many others!

    • Kim

Not cheesy at all. I love Borrowed Hearts.

  • http://jaclynramblings.blogspot.ca/ Jaclyn

I love all Christmas movies. They make me so happy. My all time favourite is Miracle on 34th Street.

  • Lindsey Young

I love White Christmas! It has been a tradition in my family to wrap presents while watching the movie! Love it so much!

  • http://profiles.google.com/bridgetwall Bridget Wall

I just watched “It Happened on Fifth Avenue” yesterday and adored it.   It will definitely be entered into the rotation with Holiday Inn, White Christmas, Muppet Christmas Carol, Christmas in Connecticut, Miracle on 34th Street, and It’s A Wonderful Life!  :)

  • Christine

I love so many great Christmas movies, but the one that I *must* watch every year (with my sister) is Home Alone. It’s such a perfect movie:) We’re watching it tonight! I also love It’s a Wonderful Life, The Santa Clause, Elf, White Christmas, and While You Were Sleeping.

  • Amanda G.

I just cannot get into the Christmas spirit without Christmas Vacation and Home Alone

  • http://www.katelynbrookeblog.com/ Kate

This is a tough one!  I love It’s a Wonderful Life, but Muppet Christmas Carol is definitely one of my faves too!  My mom always puts on the newer Miracle on 34th Street on Thanksgiving morning while we’re cooking to kick off the season :)

  • http://ohsachilives.blogspot.com/ Sachi

My favorite Christmas movies are complete opposites. Love Actually and Christmas Vacation are the two movies that I have to watch at least once every holiday season

  • Jessica L Emond

I love The Holiday and Love Actually!

  • Lauren

Love Actually! Such a great movie.

  • http://www.wonderfulandmarvelous.blogspot.com/ Andrea

My favorite Christmas movie is certainly Love actually!! It warms my heart every time!! :)

  • katie

the shop around the corner is the best holiday movie ever (and just best movie in general)!!

  • Jessica

The Holiday, Love Actually and the Family Stone. But also every Christmas Eve my mom and I watch Meet Me in St. Louis to watch Judy Garland sing “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”

  • Jane

I think there are too many to choose from, but the movies that makes me sit down and watch the whole thing is Home Alone (1 and 2) and the Holiday with Jude Law and Kate Winslet.

  • Danielle Landy

home alone is a classic for me!

  • Brooke

Watching Love Actually and Home Alone1 & 2 make me all excited for Christmas!  Watching White Christmas and It’s A Wonderful Life has always been what we when decorating!

  • http://herlongwayhome.wordpress.com/ hailey

Our family always watches Christmas Vacation every weekend until Christmas starting on Thanksgiving after dinner. The holidays just aren’t complete without it!

  • Natalia Contreras

There are sooo many great holiday flicks out there! First ones that come to mind are Elf, The Holiday, The Christmas Story, and the Griswalds Holiday Vacation. LOVE this time of the year :)

  • coco

The Santa Clause and, more recently, Sleepless in Seattle!

  • JuLee

Holiday Inn with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye. Same story as White Christmas but I like Holiday Inn better. Also, The Holiday, Home Alone (the only movie with a spider that I will intentionally watch because he is so good in his role – watching Kevin get ready for those crooks and waiting for his big chance to help out) and also Elf which I have memorized. Also must watch the original Grinch and Charlie Brown Christmas and Rudolf. Grew up with them so have to see ‘em.

    • JuLee

Oops. Holiday Inn is Fred Astaire!  Danny Kaye is in White Christmas. Bing is in both.

  • Julie Luong

The first “The Santa Clause” and “Love Actually.” Though I need to rewatch “Home Alone” now!

  • Deborah Davis

    Love Actually!

  • Amanda Boyce728

Home Alone is definetly one of my favorites. I also love The Holiday and White Christmas.

  • Alyaki

I always have to watch Muppet Christmas Carol. I love singing along with it.
Though Home Alone is also a favorite.
