Coffee Talk: Hello, Everygirls!

teg_coffee

Happy Monday, ladies! We want to get some discussion going on The Everygirl, and what better way to start than getting to know one another over a latte? You know who we are, so now it’s time for us to learn a little bit about you.

How old are you? Where are you from? What do you do from 9 to 5? And on the weekends? Are you an entrepreneur? What’s your dream job? Do you have a dog? A chinchilla? Do you love sparkly things? Where do you live? Do you have a roommate? A significant other? Are you a renter or homeowner? Do you write a blog? If so, please leave a link to your site!  Tell us anything and everything. This should be a great way for all of us to get to know one another.

Don’t forget that you can reply to each other’s comments below!

  • Maggie

Danielle and Alaina, I love what you guys do on the Everygirl! It’s such a great website for people like me (soon-to-be college grads) and I can’t wait to see what you guys come up with everyday. My name’s Maggie, I’m 22, from New York state, finishing my last semester of college. No, not an entrepreneur. Don’t quite know what my dream job is — maybe a personal chef/baker/grocery shopper combo. I don’t have a dog yet, but hope to get one as soon as it makes sense! I love sparkly things, within reason. I live in Washington, DC but am soon moving down to Tulsa, OK for my new job! Going to be quite a culture shock, I think!

Thanks for all of your work on the Everygirl, guys! Keep it up.

    • http://www.heatherpranitis.blogspot.com/ Heather Pranitis

Hello Maggie! It’s nice to meet you. It sounds like you have a plan and timing is everything. Things will fall into place. I wish you luck on your move and new job.

    • http://peeptoesandpolaroids.blogspot.com/ Francesca

This is literally 6 months past the due date (I’m sorry!) but I’m going back through and reading different people’s posts. Yours caught my eye–I’m a Tulsa, OK native! Are you still here? If you are, how do you like T-town? What do you do? These are annoying questions & I don’t know how long it will be before you see this! Glad to know there’s more than one of us Everygirls in O-K-L-A-H-O-M-A!

  • Jordan AH

Hi! I’m prob not your typical Everygirl, but I really like your site and figured I’d share.

My name is Jordan, I’m 26. I got married, moved, and left my job to have our first child. I just started blogging at employablemom.com because as much as I like staying home with my son I want to return to a career I LOVE someday. I’m not really sure what that is…but I have this little career break/extended maternity leave to find out and plan my comeback: (http://bit.ly/emomcomeback) I’ve always kind of liked the idea of being an entrepreneur though.

I have a dog – who is INSANE (a weimaraner) but we love him. I like sparkly things (in moderation,) love designing and decorating our house, organizing, getting dressed up (although I have a matching problem and I believe in the wardrobe uniform.) I’m addicted to pinterest, like running, and am overall just trying to enjoy life.

Looking forward to your future posts!

    • http://www.heatherpranitis.blogspot.com/ Heather Pranitis

It’s nice to meet you Jordan! I will be stopping by soon.

  • http://www.theyuppiefiles.com/ The Yuppie Files

Hello! I’m loving The Everygirl & can’t wait to read everyone’s answers :)
I’m 29 from right outside of Washington DC (the Virginia side). I’m a high school teacher, which I love, but doesn’t always satisfy the creative side of me. Jordan- I also have an insane dog, Abby, but we’re pretty in love w/her. I also sing but have terrible stage fright so am trying to get over that!

I adore sparkly things & I do blog, at http://www.TheYuppieFiles.com.

    • http://twitter.com/EmployableMom Jordan

Actually -we just moved from DC and I was also a teacher for DCPS. I taught in SE. Small world!

      • http://www.theyuppiefiles.com/ The Yuppie Files

        Too funny!

    • http://www.heatherpranitis.blogspot.com/ Heather Pranitis

Hello Jordan! It is very nice to meet you. This is my first time to The Everygirl and I simply cannot get enough of it. It’s already been bookmarked.  I hope you have some plans/ideas/goals for that creative side waiting to come out…  I’d think as a teacher you can use some of that creativity for those youngs minds, maybe?

  • LaurenHB

I absolutely love this blog! I am 24, originally from Texas but living in NYC and about to graduate from law school. I sure do love sparkly things, but I’m drawn to the more professional-looking lately since I start my job in September. I like to cook, run, play tennis, read (books and blogs), watch college football, and shop! Love love love this blog!

  • http://twitter.com/aechristianson Angela Christianson

Hi there! My name is Angela, I am 20. I’m a junior at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. My dream job is editing the food or lifestyle section of a major magazine. I don’t have a dog, but my parents do!  I love sparkly things, makeup, clothes, accessories, pillows; glitter is my friend! :) I write a blog called Tulips and Rain, check it out here

  • http://myconfidenceandme.blogspot.com/ Shay – My Confidence and Me

Hi!  I love The Everygirl, it’s so helpful and fun to read every day :)

My name is  Shay, I’m 24 and I live in DC.  I’m originally from Massachusetts, however, and went to school in Boston – I want to move back really bad, but that has to wait until I can get a job there. I’m probably the least entrepreneurial individual on earth, but I am working on that.  Some days I just really want to own my own bookstore!

I don’t have a dog, but I do live with one (my roommate’s).  I love him, but I’m not sure I’m cut out to care for anything other than a cat or a fish (low maintenance).  I also loooove sparkly things.  I’m that person who is walking and will stop mid-walk/convo to go “ooh, sparkly.”  However, I don’t actually own much that is sparkly.  I guess I just like to look at it?

I’m a fairly new blogger, but so far I love it.  I have to stop myself from posting things 49380493 times a day.  You can find me at myconfidenceandme.blogspot.com!

  • http://rebeccalately.blogspot.com Rebecca Barnes

What a great idea!  I love this blog.  :)

I’m 28 and from North Carolina.  I work at a college and am applying to a grad school in the fall (eek!).  I have a husband and three kids and a cat.  I blog about what I wear (www.rebeccalately.blogspot.com).  I have a yarn shop (www.thefibertopia.etsy.com).  My dream job would be yarn & fiber dyer.  Right now, it’s just a side hobby-type thing but my goal is for it to be at least a part-time job in the future.

    • http://www.milk-shed.com/ Stef

I was scanning the comments and YARN immediately jumped out at me. I’m a knitter and plan to head over to your shop right after this!

    • http://www.heatherpranitis.blogspot.com/ Heather Pranitis

Hi Rebecca! It’s nice to meet you. I’ve actually been to your etsy site, small world. Stay positive about grad school you can do it! I just graduated from ASU with my BA in Psychology in May 2010 and the age of 34 while working full-time (no kids, hubby or pets) but, I imagine you will rock it!  I like your creative side, write down your goals and steps to make the etsy shop part-time…writing it on paper helps, it did for me. Great to meet you. Heading to your blog now. :)

  • Jamie O.

Thoroughly enjoying your site so far- especially the yummy recipes from your first week! My name is Jamie, I am a 30-year-old high school history teacher. I bought my first home about four years ago and am obsessed with decorating it to perfection! I have a 7-year-old chihuahua named Lala that one of my students gave me my first year teaching. My current dream is to somehow organize a cross-country road trip for the summer despite scary gas prices that seem to keep rising. Thanks for the inspiration for all aspects of life and keep up the great work!

  • http://heartofablonde.com Molly Rasmussen

I love this! Keep up the incredible work, ladies! xo

I’m Molly | I’m 22 | I’m from Milwaukee but live in Minneapolis | I am a student in my last semester of college | I hope to be an entrepreneur in the near future | My dream job is opening my own boutique in the midwest | My parent’s have two yellow labs that I adore! | How could I not love sparkly things?! | I am a blogger :) | you can find me blogging at heartofablonde.com

  • tricia

I’m a 28 year-old and live just outside of Chicago. I was so excited to find a local blog! I work from home for a startup technology consulting company and love it. I manage projects, head up marketing efforts, and write proposals… amongst 10,000 other things (we are a tiny company).

I’m an aspiring photographer and do a little graphic design on the side. No dog, but the hubby and I are expecting our first child in October. :) I love your blog and wish I could have read it when I was nearing the end of college. There are so many things I’d tell my 21 or 22 year-old self.

    • http://twitter.com/EmployableMom Jordan

Congrats on your little one! So exciting!

  • http://darlingnotes.blogspot.com/ Jen @ Darling Notes

Fun post! I love the sense of community here on The Everygirl! My name is Jen, and I’m an east-coast girl living in Chicago (for almost a year, now!) I’m in my late 20s and I am a graphic design and social media consultant. I’m trying to get an invitation and stationery line going, and have been designing wedding invitation suites lately. I blog professionally at The Finer Things (http://blog.finestationery.com/) and personally at Darling Notes (http://darlingnotes.blogspot.com/.) Looking forward to checking out some of the other Everygirls that comment!

    • http://www.prettyandfun.com/ cait

      Hey Jen!

I’m an east coast, new to Chicago gal too! We should definitely grab coffee or cocktails soon.

      xo.

  • http://www.thebrunetteone.com/ Samantha

Danielle and Alaina – I can not begin to tell you both how inspired I am by the work you ladies have done in creating The Everygirl.  It’s amazing to come to a place that offers real advice and relevant information for the recent college grads making their own way in this “real world.”  My name is Samantha Peterson, 23 years old {almost 24!} and residing in the wonderful city of Des Moines, IA. I work in corporate event planning, planning incentive trips for businesses all over the world.

I started my blog, The Brunette One – http://www.thebrunetteone.com, the summer I graduated from The University of Iowa, itching for a place to channel my creativity and thoughts on the job search and post-graduation life.  Eventually my blog morphed into a fashion/lifestyle blog, rediscovering my love of clothes, styling, and the occassional DIY craft project. I love finding affordable fashions for the recent college grad, knowing that you can be stylish in the work place and still not spend a fortune!  I, am of course, a lover of all things sparkly, a good page turner {currently re-reading The Hunger Games trilogy}, & The Hawkeyes!

Thanks again for all you ladies have done in bringing us The Everygirl! Can’t wait for all that is to come!
    -Samantha

  • Ksasek79

Hi girls, I am probably not your average reader. I’m 50, married, have three children, a dog and a cat. I’m an avid cyclist, who was born and raised in Chicago. Although I dont live there anymore it’s still “my kind of town” and always look forward to coming home. I love your blogs because I feel they cater to everyone not just the younger crowd. Blogging wasn’t around when I was in my 20 something’s. Wow that made me sound really old. Lol. I find your blogs to be a great resource for every age group. I used to be a bookkeeper for three family owned businesses but was fortunate to be able quit and stay home to raise my children who are 25, 22, and 17. Now that they’re grown, I’m hoping to find a job in a bicycle shop, either in sales or as a mechanic. My dream is to one year make it to France in July for the Tour de France with my husband. Keep up the good work. You girls are awesome!

    • Elizabeth

You sound amazingly cool. I hope you make it to the Tour de France! I was in Paris one summer while it was going through, and I missed it completely because I was so wrapped up in being a really emotional 22-year-old :) I wish I could do that all over again. I’m turning 30 in couple years — and I am crossing my fingers I’ll have the guts to ride a century with my husband to ring in my new decade. So anyway, in short, bikes–yeah!

      • Ksasek79

You can do it. I am also going to try a century this year with my husband, niece, and sons. Don’t look back, move forward and get yourself back to France one day. I also plan to do a little shopping, wink wink, visit laduree for macaroons. My niece grew up in Europe and she says the macaroons here don’t even compare.

        • Elizabeth

Thanks for the encouragement! And good luck to you! :)

          • Ksasek79

Thanks, and good luck to you also.

    • http://theeverygirl.com/ The Everygirl

You are awesome! When you make it to France please do let us know. we want to hear all about your trip!

  • Laurie Durante

Hello ladies!  I’m Laurie!  I’m 26, engaged, and currently doing a little bit of everything.  I work part time doing interior design, specializing in children’s bedrooms.  The other part of the time I’m a personal shopper / wardrobe consultant which I do with my best friend.  Fun!  I do not have a dog, but I do have a cat.  He’s my favorite little guy on the planet even if he is a royal pain in the you know what a lot of the time.  I absolutely adore sparkly things, leather-y things, studded things…  fashion-y things!  I live in a small town in New Jersey, which I’ve tried to move out of on three difference occasions and I always end up back here.  Silly!   And on an ending note, I JUST started a blog!  www.ohmycupcake.net  - named after my love for cupcakes, of course.

    xx!

    • Rebecca Hampton

Laurie, you sound like someone I’d be friends with! I’m engaged too and I can’t imagine wedding planning while working 2 jobs! That’s awesome. Good luck with planning! When is your wedding?

    • http://www.porchswingdreams.wordpress.com/ Kristi

Where in New Jersey? I live in Flemington :) I’m 22 and almost engaged ;) I’m going to check out your blog!

  • http://www.courtneycallahanpaper.com Courtney Callahan Paper

How much fun! I am an almost-30 designer and owner of a custom wedding invitations studio located in Chicago – http://www.courtneycallahanpaper.com.

It’s my dream job! But, let me tell you, it can be hard to be a sole-employee of a company so The Everygirl has been so much fun to read and explore to see like-minded, driven ladies and how they do it!

    • http://helloloverofbeautifulthings.blogspot.com/ Beth (Hello Lover)

      Courtney,

I actually met you at the BHLDN grand opening when I was with Kara and Renny (I work for bliss weddings).  So fun to find you here – this coffee talk was such a great idea!

      Beth

      • http://www.courtneycallahanpaper.com Courtney Callahan Paper

Hi Beth! Oh yes, of course. It was great to meet you at BHLDN and love all of the Bliss work. I hope to work with you soon!

        Courtney

        • http://theeverygirl.com/ The Everygirl

Love that the two of you were able to reconnect!

    • Viviana Carmona

So fun! I would love to be able to use more creativity and art in my job… but accounting doesn’t leave much way for that :( boohoo!

  • Katelyn

Great idea.  I love to learn more about other blog readers.
My name is Katelyn and I live in New Orleans.  Though I am originally from Ohio and have also lived in DC.  I’m 27 years old and a newly wed (9 months).
I work in higher education though this is a new career for me.  I love to knit, read, travel and generally style my life, though that’s always a work in progress.
I just started blogging again after a 3 year break and I love the community that I’ve found in the blogging world.  (http://alittleoldfashioned.wordpress.com)
Thank you for the wonderful posts.  They are always insriring!

  • Kristina

Hello ladies, I love the Everygirl and after reading all the comments below I felt like I needed to make this conversation a little more international. I am Kristina, a 20 year old college student from Germany. I’m not quite sure how I, the German girl w/out a blog, got drawn into the world of blogging but I’m glad I was because that’s the reason why I know about the Everygirl. It’s such an inspirational site for a college student who doesn’t yet no what to do after graduation. I hope to be able to work for a non-profit organization at one point in my life but I’m also up for all the opportunities that might come along the way.

Life is full of opportunities! We just have to be brave enough to take them!
Thank you for creating the Everygirl! I’m looking forward to reading it every day!

    • Jeanelle @ Glocal Girl

      Hi Kristina!

I love your international approach :) I’m an American gal currently living in the Netherlands, so a neighbor of yours.  I’ve been drawn to The Everygirl as a source of inspiration for my career, blog and future goals.

I blog about my expat experiences as a California gal assimilating in Amsterdam, where I now live with my Dutch boyfriend.  (http://www.glocalgirl.com) I do have a 9-5 job but luckily in Europe that means really “just” 9-5 with a huge emphasis on work/life balance which I love because it allows me to travel. I started blogging in 2009 when I moved to Spain for grad school as a means to stay connected back home.  Not it has evolved into a much more creative space as I discover new cities abroad.

Nice to meet all of you and looking forward to getting to know you more!

      xx
      Jeanelle

      • Kristina

        Jeanelle,
the international community definitely has to come out more on The Everygirl :-)
I’m glad to hear you like living in Europe. I’m on the other side really enjoyed my time living in the US. Yeah for globalization :)

  • Sarah M.

Good morning!  I’m loving the site so far, ladies!  My name is Sarah and I’m 26.  I don’t have a dog – unfortunately my apartment doesn’t allow them and I can’t convince my parents to get one so I can live vicariously though them :)   I’m from everywhere – as an Army kid I grew up moving every couple of years but my family is from Virginia.

I currently live outside of Washington, DC and work as an event planner for a large nonprofit organization.  It’s not my dream job, but it’s been a good place to work my first few years after college!  I’m looking to find something more interesting and challenging that allows me to be creative.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Christy-Tamm/1366971587 Christy Tamm

I am in love with Everygirl! I check the page for new updates daily sometimes a couple times a day! ( a little crazy I know)

My name is Christy, I am 23 years old and currently live in Sacramento, CA but in June I am moving to San Francisco to finish my education at San Francisco State. My dream job is to be a PR Rep for either a lot of people or a big cooperation.  I don’t have a dog but I have a very cute cat her name is Sweetpea. I love sparkly things even though my budget doesn’t always have room for them. I have a blog, I am not the best writter and don’t always know what to write about but I am working on building my blog followers and working on creating an amazing blog one da. You can view my blog at http://livingmylifeasiknowit.wordpress.com/.
Thanks for doing this. I can’t wait for everything Everygirl has to offer!

  • Ruth Levenkron

Hi all! I’m 29 living in DC and my sister, who lives in NYC and I are soon to be starting a style/lifestyle/etc. blog. We’re happy to find other young women interested in similar stuff and both love the Everygirl blog. For now, bookmark us at http://sisterswithasideofstyle.wordpress.com. We’ll be starting up the blog in the next week or so!!!

  • http://www.habershamhaven.blogspot.com/ Dara {Habersham Haven}

I love finding new-to-me blogs, so I always enjoy link-ups!

My name is Dara, and I’m a 28 year old living in Atlanta.  I currently work in the construction industry, but have realized that this isn’t my calling.  Still trying to figure out exactly what my creative outlet is, but I enjoy photograph, painting, and interior design (hopefully one of these things will eventually lead me to be an entrepreneur).  I have a dog named Grita and I wouldn’t trade her for anything.  She is 12 and definitely a stubborn old lady.  Last year, I bought a condo and have since been obsessed with reading blogs.  After a few months of reading, I finally started blogging at http://www.habershamhaven.blogspot.com and have loved every minute of it!

Soo glad you ladies have put together this amazing site for all girls to gain inspiration from!

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Christy-Tamm/1366971587 Christy Tamm

I love finding new blogs to read too. I think I just added a whole list of new reading to my bloglovin site.

  • Christine

Hi! I am absolutely loving your site! Great for inspiration in every (!) part of life.

My name is Christine, and I’m 24. I graduated from Holy Cross two years ago and lived and worked in New York City shortly thereafter. In the fall, I decided I needed a change, so I am back in Boston and happily working at a biotech company. Even still, I find myself pondering many dream jobs! Top of the list is a freelance writer for Runners’ World magazine. I love to write and always have – and think my running/fitness/style/life blog captures that! It’s http://www.thesehappymiles.com. Sadly, I do not have a dog but want a golden retriever someday! And of course, I love all things shiny and sparkly.

  • http://dreamsandjeans.tumblr.com Alex

Hi! I’m Alex from http://www.dreamsandjeans.com. I’m 22 and live in NYC and am a graphic designer for Madewell. My dream job is to be a head creative director/art director for a brand I’m passionate about or to start my own design firm. I don’t have my own dog but my family has 6! (and 4 horses and 8 goats!) I hope to have my own dog one day down the road when I’m more settled.

    • Sara K.

Oh my goodness Alex, your design job with Madewell sounds amazing! As a designer myself I must admit I’m drooling a little bit! :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=501665951 Margaret Snider

    Hello lovely ladies!

My name is Margaret and I am a 23 year old Georgia native. I work full time in the TV/Movie/Radio/New Media industry (mouthful, right?). I am hoping to go back to school in the fall to persue a career in the interior design indurty, although I love writing as well.

I have a funny Shih Tzu named Mason and I live in an apartment building that was built in 1905, which is hard to find in Atlanta.

I am the proud owner of a blog called The Gilded Peach, which contains inspirational images, quotes, recipes, and my life experiences. In an ideal world, I would make a living as an interior designer and moonlight as a lifestyle blogger.

Check it out if you have a free moment! I’d love to hear everyone’s feedback.

  • Jordan B.

My name is Jordan and I’m from Charlotte, NC! I work as a Account Manager for a design firm. Although I really like my job and the people I work with, I’ve always been into baking! Owning a little coffee shop/bake shop would definitely be my dream job :) I’m a blogger at http://jordanbeaston.blogspot.com/ (designed by the Everygirl’s very own Danielle Moss!)

I have two super sweet dogs! One is a four-year old Brittany Spaniel and the other a almost two-year old Cockalier (a Cocker Spaniel/Cavalier King Charles mix). They are both orange and white…so they look a lot a like, but one has floppy ears and is half the size!

I love the Everygirl and look forward for what is to come!

  • Kim

  • http://www.thesavvybrew.com/ Bre

This is so fun! And I’m gonna read all the comments below after I post my answers :)

I’m 30, originally from SF, and moved to LA 6 years ago to get an MBA. I work in west LA for a company called Roll Global, and I manage the production of print-based marketing collateral for Teleflora and FIJI Water brands. I haven’t figured out yet what my dream job is, but I’m hopeful that I’m gonna figure it out very soon. I’m not an entrepreneur now, but I was a struggling artist in my early 20′s (gave that up for the corporate world of steady pay checks and health benefits). I just started a blog a few weeks ago, to motivate me to get back into the creative mid set, and I hope to start making and selling art again by the end of this year. My husband and I are picking up a chocolate lab puppy on Saturday, we are beyond excited to have a pup coming to live with us. And yes, sparkly things and me get along real well!

  • instantphoebe

Hello! I’m Phoebe, 24, and a food editor for a major food magazine. I’m originally from the Dallas area, but I’d really like to settle on the West coast — San Francisco or Portland.

I am thinking about going to business school to get my MBA. I love my job and the people I work with, but I feel like there’s more out there that I want to see and do. I have no pets! I am a sort-of blogger — I just recently started up a new blog (http://houseforone.com), but I’ve put it on semi-hiatus until I take my GMAT (gotta put that spare time into studying!).

I’ve been dating my boyfriend for more than 4 years, but we’ve unfortunately been long distance for the past 2, due to both of our jobs. So, this next move (and possible career change) is likely going to be with him. We’re both going to uproot ourselves, as it only seems fair (haha).

  • houseofearnest

Hi!  I’ve been loving following The Everygirl!  It’s inspiring to see something take off like this!

I’m Erin.  I’m 29, live in Ohio in a super old farmhouse that has been in my husbands family for 8 generations.  We spend our spare time fixing all of the crazy things that break (which is a lot).
In my non-spare time, I work as a buyer at A&F and blog about my home projects, entertaining, and decor over at http://www.houseofearnest.com.
We have a miniature schnauzer, Perry, who is the queen of the castle.  We’d like to get a large dog too and are open for suggestions!  No shedders :)

I really enjoyed reading all the posts today. All these women sound so talented and great futures ahead of them. Here’s a little inspirational poem by Bonnie L. Mohr called Living Life.

Life is not a race, but indeed a journey. Be honest. Work hard. Be choosy. Say “thank you”, I love you, and great job to somebody each day. Go to church, take time for prayer. The Lord giveth and the lord taketh. Let your handshake mean more than pen and paper. Love your life and what you’ve been given, it is not accidental, Search for your purpose and do it as best you can. Dreaming does matter. It allows you to become that which you aspire to be. Laugh often, Appreciate the little things in life and enjoy them. Some of the best things really are free. Do not worry, less wrinkles are more becoming. Forgive, it frees the soul. Take time for yourself, plan for longevity. Recognize the special people you’ve been blessed to know. Live for today, enjoy the moment. Bonnie L. Mohr.

So on that note, just like to say thank you for the chats and great job to everyone.

  • http://www.projectsoiree.blogspot.com/ Sara

Hello! My name is Sara, i’m 25 (soon to be 26), and living in Chicago. I work in advertising and write my blog Project Soiree (http://www.projectsoiree.blogspot.com). I love sparkly things, anything from J.Crew, InStyle Magazine, and a glass of bubbly.

I’m such a fan of the Everygirl! Keep up the great work!

  • Rebecca Hampton

Love this site! It’s so helpful for me since I’m just starting out in the real world!

I’m Becca. I’m 24. I’m currently living in Spain and teaching English, but I’ll be moving back to the States in 2 months to get married and move to Oklahoma with my fiance Tom. I’ll be looking for a job as an elementary school teacher. I can’t wait to finally have a classroom of my own!
My dream job would be museum education programs at a science or history museum. (I’m a pretty big science nerd). Sadly, no dog yet, but my parents have a 16 year-old cat that acts like a dog! I’m currently transitioning from living with my parents, to living in Spain with a roommate, to moving in with Tom, so no house yet- but I’m so excited to finally call his apartment home!

I blog about my adventures in Spain, wedding planning, and life at thegreatwideworld.blogspot.com

  • http://www.twitter.com/cynthiacbell Cynthia

Wow! What an awesome bunch of women read this blog. I don’t know how I found out about it, but I love The Everygirl. A similar website (more focused on careers) that is about to launch is the Levo League (I’m not affiliated with it, but I thought I would share.)

Anywho, although I LOVE fashion and design I am not in either of those career fields. I am 22 and a Southern CA transplant to Washington, DC. I graduated college in December and I currently work as a fundraiser for a non-profit, free-market think tank. Basically, I am a libertarian who is passionate about peace, individual liberty, and free markets.
Additionally, I follow a “paleo” diet which is 100% gluten free in addition to some other things, but this post is long enough as it is!Keep on rockin’ Everygirls! :)

  • Katie Fuchs

I am in love with this site!

I’m 23 and finishing up my Master’s degree in Accounting at Oklahoma State.  I’m looking forward to starting the next chapter of my life when I start my full-time job as an auditor in August.  I have a rescue dog named Garth who is pretty much the cutest thing  you’ve ever seen.  I’m looking at buying a house in the next few months and I am excited for the opportunity to find a space and make it my own!

    • Rebecca Hampton

Are you working in Oklahoma? I’ll be moving back there soon!

      • Katie Fuchs

        Yes! In Tulsa!

        • http://theeverygirl.com/ The Everygirl

Love seeing Everygirls connecting! Would love to visit Oklahoma… never been. We’ll let you know as soon as we make it out there!

  • Elizabeth Baumgartner

Hey ladies! This is such a great idea (no surprise) and its so fun to read a bit more about this wonderful community. I’m a 35 year old mom of 2 little girls, wife to one fab man and curator to a great cottage and new blog http://thelittleblackdoor.blogspot.com/. If I had to do it all over again, and maybe I will, I’d be an interior designer. But until that leap of faith, I work as a project manager. I can never have too much sparkle (in the right places) and fabric fabric fabric. Or cocktails, cocktails, cocktails if its been a long day. I’ve been really inspired by your site and your story. Thanks for everything you do, every way that you inspire and everyone that you introduce us to. I’m looking forward to watching your brand grow and grow!

  • Caitlin

Love that you started a converstaion with your readers. Newbie Chicagoan (East Lakeview), 24, fellow blogger – weeknightwandering.com and advertising professional 9-5. I love lattes but I also love a good cafe au lait and regular coffee. I have been digging the Blonde blend at Starbucks lately (I got the K-cups for my keurig and it is delightful). Pugs really make me scream and I love to craft, paint/watercolor, and draw in my spare time. I’ve been craving a project lately – maybe an abstract canvas for my apartment?

P.S. Your thoughtful posts and creative genius really inspire this young prof. and aspiring do-er, creator, blogger to be more. :)

  • Jennifer Stein Storck

I could seriously use a latte right now! I am Jenny, 32 and live in Cleveland (moved here 3 years ago) but feel like Northern VA is my home. My little blog is http://jentifur.blogspot.com. I work as a NASA engineer but am not the typical engineer type. I love fashion, decorating, and planning events. I’ve been blogging for a little over a year now and am really starting to like it. New sites like this one are great to get new ideas and other blog sites to read. :)

Hi:) My name is Jammie. I absolutely LOVE The Everygirl!

I’m 30 recently single and recently (as in one month ago) moved to LA. Gave up a job of almost 10 years to peruse fashion dreams. Left everything and everyone that is comfortable, bought a car I could afford to pay cash for and here I am! Across the country from Richmond, VA. I’ve been networking, taking classes in how to be a stylist, playing tourist and meeting great people! I even landed my first styling job this past weekend! I believe in dreams come true if you work hard enough! I have a French bulldog that is the love of my life, love to travel and I’m a total book nerd!

I look forward to “meeting” all of you!:) Thank you everyone and especially The Everygirl for this fabulous opportunity!

love this blog! I’m Alicia, former Chicagoan (moved out East a short 9 months ago…i miss my city!…thanks for the connection back). I try to blog at refinedsugar.wordpress.com some of my wandering thoughts & recipes. I’m a freelance graphic designer by night & an administrator for quickly growing evangelical denomination (covchurch.org) at one of their regional offices by day. I have a husband, a small kitchen, and a desire to connect with others about food, running, bikram yoga, style, pinterest, and the Every Girl blog.

  • http://fancyfunction.wordpress.com/ Fancy Function

Hi there – I’m loving this site!  I’m Christine, I’m 32 and I live in NY – not even 30 minutes outside of NYC.  I recently started my blog Fancy Function (http://fancyfunction.wordpress.com) this past summer and I’m having a great time. I’ve been married almost 2 years (when I moved from NYC) and I do love sparkly things!  I also love to write, read, shop, dance and I play the violin in a community orchestra.

  • renee [crossed and dotted]

Hello! I’m Renée and I am writing over an afternoon coffee from my desk! I work in fundraising at a museum in NYC, live in CT with my boyfriend and our kitten in an old firehouse, and absolutely love bright colors, graphic prints, and a healthy dose of sparkle!

I am a new-ish blogger at crossed and dotted (http://crossedanddotted.blogspot.com/) – I started blogging as a creative outlet outside of my professional life, and my posts focus on the edible, wearable, and inhabitable things that inspire me!

The Everygirl is such a great resource for young women, and kudos to you both for pulling it together! Looking forward to seeing The Everygirl community grow!

  • http://twitter.com/akaBasilBe Basil Be

Hello all you Everygirls, great to meet you!
I’m Emma, though I do go under the name of Basil Be on my blog – http://www.basilbe.co.uk (all is revealed on there!).  I’m happily married and we’re now expecting our first baby so our little family grows – a true dream come true but a scary little ride too!

I currently work for Asda (the UK member of the Wal-Mart family) in their head office as a talent manager, having made a career change from my 10-year marketing background.  I luckily discovered my purpose – helping others discover their unique sparkle and live their best life – and I’ve been avidly studying NLP and coaching certificates on the side.

I love the Jobs section of EveryGirl as I enjoy hearing about what inspires and drives other young women and seeing what makes them tick/what there journey to success has been.

Oh I should add my blog is designed by one of the original EveryGirl’s – Danielle!!

Yay for your new little one! Congrats!

  • Erin

I’m Erin, 37 year old elementary school librarian. I live in Victoria, BC (west coast of Canada). I’m married to a charming Englishman and we have two noisy little boys (I can hear them shrieking from downstairs right now). Tomorrow, I’m going to NYC!!! With my mom and sister. No kids allowed!

    I blog over at http://www.pughs-news.blogspot.com

  • AnniRezac

I am in the early stages of loving your blog :) It’s beautiful!

  • Hannah Crabtree

I’m Hannah. I’m 21 and from Seattle, Washington. Last year I made the cross country move to Williamsburg, VA to attend grad school. In August, I am moving up to DC!

I’m not an entrepreneur but I’d love to run my own vintage etsy store someday soon. I am one of those lucky few who managed to grab my dream job right out of school. I’ll be working for a top accounting firm in a group that’s perfect for me.

I don’t have a dog! I hate to say it, but I’m definitely more of a cat person. I will be adopting a shelter cat hopefully soon. I love sparkly things, especially nail polish. I live in on campus housing still and I have a wonderful roommate who shares my interests in Art History. I’m hoping to rent a studio once I move – I think I’m over the roommate thing for a while. I just started blogging over at thisenviablelife.blogspot.com.

Thanks so much for the lovely site!

  • http://www.engineerlikeagirl.blogspot.com/ Elizabeth

Hi Everygirl and happy Monday. My name is Elizabeth, I’m 29 and I’m an engineer. I’m an army brat but right now I’m from Atlanta. I have the cutest little runt of a boxer named Chloe and she’s so sweet. I like to travel, play tennis, try new things, make stuff and have fun! Right now I’m working on painting my first piece of furniture and recovering some chairs.
I also have a blog with my 2 sisters: http://www.engineerlikeagirl.blogspot.com

  • http://flashleigh.tumblr.com/ Ashleigh

This is so cute, people never do this on their blogs! My name is Ashleigh, I’m 22 and I just got a BA in Journalism from the University of Oregon! I interned at Portland Monthly Magazine for a term – oh! and I live in Portland, the greatest city in the world! I hold a full-time interim job at Starbucks, even though Portland is home to the best coffee shops around the globe and I frequent them more than I do my own work. My dream job is to write about what I love: fashion, people, life, design, and the environment. I’m single and currently traveling for three months before I come home and start looking for a “real” job. Tomorrow I fly to Barcelona! Also, I do indeed have a blog, the link will be included once I post this I think…
So very nice to meet you!

p.s. Yes, I do love sparkly things.

    • Ashleigh

OK, so I guess you click my name to see my blog!

  • Aline

Hello ladies!  I am in love with this website… It’s amazing!!!

My name is Aline, I am 28 years old, I live in Brazil and I have a company of International Business. We advise small and medium companies that want to import or export and don’t understand the law and ways to do that. I live in a crazy city but I am working hard to keep our office structured and organized so some day  I can work from home and me and my boyfriend could go live in a smaller city, buy a house and enjoy life with our kids, that we hope to have some day!  :) :)I wish you all a great and blessed week!

  • cherylpisha

Hi there!  My name is Cheryl and I am a new blogger (since last October) over at ’40 is the new 30….a life in progress’.  As you can tell by the title of my blog, I don’t exactly fit the demographic of  The Everygirl in her 20′s and 30′s….but I am loving it regardless, and love seeing fellow Chicago bloggers achieve success.  Makes my heart smile. :)

During the day I manage a marketing team for a large construction firm in Chicago (which I love), and at night and on weekends I dream of owning my own little paper shop.  Someday, someday!!

I am a mom to a crazy and fantastic 9 year old girl, who not only keeps me on my toes, but makes me laugh like crazy every single day.  And her father (my husband) is a wonderful person, whom I’m lucky to have in my life.

We do have a dog…a labradoodle named Oliver.  Greatest dog ever!

Like I said earlier, I am new blogger since October.  So far it’s been a wonderful experience.  I have yet to actually meet any fellow bloggers in person, but I’m hoping that will happen (hey, if you’re in Chicago…shoot me an email, I would LOVE to meet for coffee or a drink!) soon.  Blogging has filled this creative void I had been feeling, and I’m so thankful for it.

Thank you to The Everygirl for continually teaching and introducing us to new things!

    Cheryl

I’m 27 and work as an English Language assistant in Spain. I quit my job as a nonprofit event planner 2 years ago to follow my dreams to learn Spanish and travel Europe (I blog about my adventures over here: http://magdalenamadrid.blogspot.com).

In 3 short months I”ll be moving back to the States (Chicago, to be exact) and I can’t wait for the next adventure (which will hopefully include adopting a puppy and someday buying a house). I live w/ my boyfriend of 5 years. And my dream job is to have my own event plannign business (we’re talking weddings and parties).

Loving your new site, keep up the great work!

  • http://justmytypeblog.blogspot.com/ Ann Michele

hello hello all! i have to admit i’m new to the everygirl (and haven’t had my coffee yet), but better late than never right? : ) my name’s ann michele, and i’m currently living in houston as a 25 year old texas girl. i am the graphic designer/photographer/marketing guru for a firetruck company, which means being around lots of firemen, but currently i’m on medical leave as i continue to fight as a cancer survivor.

all this free time though has translated into diving into my blog, justmytypeblog.blogspot.com/ as a great creative outlet! my roommate also happens to be a graphic designer and photographer, and one day we hope to start up our own freelance business. we both love sparkly things and trying new recipes and dancing around in our pink tutus… anyway, i’m loving reading everyone’s posts and look forward to more from the everygirl!

    xoxo! amk

  • http://www.milk-shed.com/ Stef

    Hi ladies!

I’m 28, live just outside Detroit (I browsed through the comments for other Detroiters but didn’t notice any) with a Mister, two dogs and a cat.  During the day I’m a Senior Marketing Coordinator for a company in Downtown Detroit.  In the evenings/during free time I blog at http://www.milk-shed.com and make handmade knit goods that I sell through my online shop, Milkshed.  My dream is to be able to support myself through knitting, letterpress and freelance design work.. but that’s a loooong ways away.

    • http://twitter.com/EmployableMom Jordan

Your not alone – I live outside Detroit! (Also I love the knit lampshade!)

      • http://www.milk-shed.com/ stef

  • chelsea tierney

Hello Danielle & Alaina & all the rest of the Everygirl’s :)

I’m Chelsea, a born & raised Iowan, who upon graduation decided a move to NYC was in the cards. I blog over at iowameetnyc.wordpress.com. I am 24 years old, but not a day over 18! I work at an event marketing company in Manhattan’s Financial District. And on the weekends, my favorite thing to do is explore ..whether its my neighborhood, a new city, or even the channels on my TV. My dream job ..I’m working on that. I’d love to be a business consultant. [I was an entrepreneurship & marketing major in college]. I don’t have a dog …I WANT a dog. I will have a dog, soon! I live across the Hudson River from NYC, but maybe not for long [shhh, announcement coming soon!]. My roommate is my significant other. He also happens to be my best friend. We’ve been “roomates” for over a year now, and “better halves” for four! Life excites me ..the good, bad, & ugly of it. I always try to see the bright side. I also always try to work out …that has proven to be much harder for me! I’m a work in progress, who loves to blog about my attempts, and read about others successes! :)

  • Ashlie

My name is Ashlie and I’m from Lincoln, Nebraska! I’m so thrilled you started the Everygirl – there is so much relevant and enjoyable content! I am a boutique owner (www.embellishboutiques.com) by day (and night for that matter!) and am preparing to launch my blog at http://www.embellishlife.com. When I am not at work I am spending time socializing with friends, having people over for dinner, visiting with family, shopping and volunteering. I like to keep busy…like most Everygirls do!

    • http://www.sunset-vine.tumblr.com/ Elisabeth

You’re boutique looks wonderful! If I’m ever in the area, I will be visiting! Good luck with everything!

  • Kathryn

I’m Kathryn. 28. Married. Homeowner. I live in Dallas, TX. I am a Men’s Accessories Buyer. 2 dogs. No blog. I prefer bold colors over sparkles. I love the everygirl.

  • http://www.newlywife.com/ Emily @ NewlyWife

I really wish I had one of those coffees right about now. :) I’m 27 and work in wine and spirits marketing, and also blog at NewlyWife.com. My dream job is pretty close to the one I have now, but full-time style blogger sounds pretty good to me too. I’m married and I own my home, which one day will house a dog. Love love love the site. :)

  • Mere

Hi!! My name is Meredith. I am 23 and married. I am in HR recruiting so I do that during the day and at night and on the weekends I spend most of my time with my husband, do DIY projects, a little blogging http://mereandthemr.blogspot.com/, and meeting up with friends as much as possible. I hope to one day get into non-profit but I am waiting on the right opportunity and timing right now. Right now we rent a townhouse and plan on doing so for a few years until we decide on a place to settle. I absolutely love dogs, but cannot have one because our apartments do not allow them. The next place we move will have to be pet friendly because I can barely take it anymore. We absolutely love coffee in our house and just bought a professional grade espresso machine. We try to have people over at least once a week and love entertaining with coffee and espresso.

    • Ashley Rustad

How do you like HR recruiting? I’m currently enrolled in an HR Management class and I’m just dipping my feet into HR and seeing if I want to pursue a career in that. How did you get your first job?

  • http://cerrissa.blogspot.com/ Cerrissa

Why is the Everygirl so awesome?!  I love learning about everyone and feeling a bond with so many talented women :) My name is Cerrissa and I’m 28 working in architecture in NYC originally from Alabama.  I want to do so many different things it’s hard to decide which direction to head sometimes, which is why I started my blog a few years ago: cerrissa.blogspot.com.  My jobs (because who isn’t doing something on the side to make ends meet in nyc?) haven’t left me much time to do what I wish I could do (design stationary! make art! decorate all my friends apartments! build furniture!), but that’s the price you pay to live in the big city. I love sparkly things, fluorescent things & Boo the dog to the great chagrin of the Dude who puts up with me :)

  • Megan Manion

Hello everyone!  I’m Megan, 25, and currently live in Harker Heights,
Texas.  Ever heard of it?  I didn’t think so! :)   It’s about an hour
north of Austin, my husband is in the Army and we’ve been stationed at
Fort Hood for almost 3 years now.  But!  We’re moving to Boston in the
fall so that he can attend Harvard Business School!!  What a stud I got
myself!  I currently work as an interior decorator although I have my
degree in architecture.  Here’s to hoping that the job market for
architects doesn’t stay so dismal.  One day I plan on having my own
residential architecture firm; I want to design your house and then
decorate it too!  We have three wonderful pound puppy mutts and (even
though everyone says this) they are the best dogs in the whole world!

    I blog over at http://www.thenolaruth.com – It’s a little bit of everything,
but heavy on interiors, architecture, and what its like to be an Army
Wife.  Oh!  And I realized the other day that The Everygirl follows me
on Pinterest and I nearly fainted from starstruckedness, I’m flattered!
It’s a great thing you both are doing and very inspiring!

  • http://helloloverofbeautifulthings.blogspot.com/ Beth (Hello Lover)

Oh my, this is fun. Now I only wish I was doing it over a latte as pretty as in that photo.  Instead I’m writing to you from my work out clothes on my couch, sans pretty drink.  Anyways, I am 27.  I’m from Chicago (Lincoln Park neighborhood).  From 9-5 (kind of) I am a pediatric nurse.

On the weekends I love spending time with family, friends, relaxing, enjoying cocktails, shopping for (j. crew) clothes and vintage furniture/home decor items.  We have two dogs whom I call my ladies – they are collies, one is 2 years old and one is 3 years old, one’s black and one’s brown – I love them both dearly.  I am not an entrepreneur but sure hope to be one some day in the future and my absolute dream job is to run my own interior design/wedding planning company and if I could dream a little further it would be to have an amazing store front to do it all from (filled with beautifully designed mock rooms and wedding tablescapes).  I’m married, we own (or should say pay a mortgage on our little 2 bedroom condo) and I try to write a blog about all the things listed above.

I, of course, love sparkly things, shiny things, furry things, neon things and anything beautiful in between!  This is a great idea and great chance to get to learn about all your different readers! You can read more here:http://helloloverofbeautifulthings.blogspot.com/

  • Jenny at Spry On The Wall

My name is Jenny, I’m a 38 year old wife, mom, woven textile designer/stylist and I have a little style blog ( http://spryonthewall.blogspot.com ) . Im loving what you all are doing here!

  • Ashley Fine

Hi! My name is Ashley Fine, and unfortunately I’m not the best at answering the “Where are you from?” question. My dad was in the Air Force, and after college I ended up getting married to a USAF pilot. I swore I’d never do that, but I guess I met Mr. Right. We move about every three years, and we currently reside in Hawaii. I went to the University of Missouri and studied magazine editing. My dream is to work at a fancy glossy magazine, but it doesn’t really jive with this lifestyle. Freelance writing and editing hasn’t been the easiest to jump into for me, so last year I started blogging to fill the writing/editing/design void. I’d love to turn my blog into something more. I look at Danielle and Alaina as such great inspirations. I know that there’s a way for me to be a military spouse and hang on to my dreams and aspirations as well. I’m still trying to figure it out, but I guess that’s what your twenties are all about (or at least that’s what my mother tells me!). Finding a new job every few years can be rough when you move so often. I recently started working at J.Crew part-time as a sales associate for a little fun, socializing, and the sweet discount. For me, a new location becomes a home once I start working. The job market isn’t the greatest right now, so I figured it might be worth getting a part-time job to meet new people with similar interests. Anyone who appreciates a bevy of colorful cardigans and flats is okay in my book:) When I’m not obsessing about where I’m supposed to be at this point in my life, you can most likely find me blogging, at the beach, or spending time with my two dogs and my husband. What I love most about blogging and creative outlets like The Everygirl is that they encourage you to focus on what’s good in life and how you can improve. The Everygirl reminds us to unleash our original and shimmering self and to be confident in the decisions we make. Thanks for such a sweet gift! I look forward to visiting every day!!!

  • http://elembee.com/ Lisa @ Elembee, Etc

Hi! My name is Lisa, I’m 26 and living in Louisiana (originally from Texas). I’m working as a graphic designer at a print shop, but I put in my 2 weeks last Friday!! I’ll be working full-time on my graphic design studio, Elembee Creative (elembeecreative.com). I wish every day I had a dog, but I’ll be moving around some this year and it’s not the right time. Right now I’m sharing an apartment with a roommate, but in May I’ll be moving in with my aunt for a little while as I build my business. Then, hopefully, Chicago! I blog at Elembee, Etc (elembee.com).

I absolutely love The Everygirl! You have done such an amazing job and I can’t wait for more!

  • Samantha T Merski

I’m 23 living in the NYC area. I just graduated from NYU last year. I’m currently living with my parents to save up some money and pay off my loans. I hope to move back into the city once I get a roommate lined up and a little more money saved up.

Although I have a job, I’m currently looking for a new one that better suits my interests. I realized that I really want to do something with marketing and social media.  I love The  Everygirl for giving tips on career advice since I am looking to start a new career and I need all the help I can get.

    Keep up the awesome work!!

  • http://thelovelydept.com/ rachelle

I got turned onto The Everygirl by a friend, and it’s now a staple on my reader.

I am a recent fine art grad, 24, and most importantly a newlywed with an amazing artist husband. We’re on a journey to lead a creative life where our jobs aren’t stuck in a 9-5 routine. I just started blogging again after taking a hiatus and closing my Etsy jewelry shop.

My new blog, The Lovely Dept., is a collection of my hand drawn type experiments, utilizing my jewelry tools and fine arty-ness through DIY tutorials, and creating funny color collections inspired by my Instagram photos. (Are you guys on Instagram? Find me! @rachelledunn)

I can’t wait to check out everyone’s blog and sites here! I love reading the stories of other Everygirl readers. <3

I’ve am loving Everygirl and think you women are awesome for working hard for what you want. My names Whitney, I’m 25, 7 months prego with our baby girl (first) and have loved interior design since I was a child. My husband and I just moved to Chicago for his Law degree at UofC and I am working on my someday dream of becoming an interior designer (my plans slowed down a bit when we found out our cute family would be growing). I’ve discovered that the stress and exhaustion from my life goals come from me pushing myself and I am sure you have experienced that yourselves with the launch of The Everygirl.  I am still in the early stages of reaching my big goal, but you can find it all here, whitneykayestyles.blogspot.com

P.S. My husband and I are falling in love with Chicago everyday, thanks to the warm weather!

  • Lauren M.

Hi everyone!  I’m Lauren living in Georgia, age 29 (looking forward to my 30′s!), married for 3 years, no children or pets yet!  I am a business owner/graphic designer specializing in paper goods (greeting cards, art prints, calling cards, etc.).  My company is called LrnM Design (www.LrnMDesign.com).  I also have a blog called Myers Maison which focuses on diy projects and other happenings at my house (http://MyersMaison.blogspot.com).  In short, I know how to keep myself busy :)

Along with designing, my dream job would be a photography blogger where I would travel the world and post unique shots of food, products, nature and anything else that moved me.

I love the Everygirl!  The content that you ladies post is so refreshing;  I haven’t seen anything like it elsewhere.  Keep doing what you’re doing…inspiring women everywhere!

  • http://one-parade.com Marjorie | One-Parade.com

Loving the blog so far… Congrats to you both!

My name is Marjorie. I’m 24 currently living in LA. My life feels like it’s on fast forward since graduation… In a good way. I’ve moved across the entire country, gotten engaged, and took up a job in the web design industry all in the same year. I have two lovely pooches, Ein (corgi) and Max (mini dachshund), who make sure I get my laughs and cries in during the day. I live in a wonderful place (we actually just moved!) with my even more wonderful fiancé. The wedding is in a year, and with my job plus the move…I’m already losing my head. Yikes!

Aside from doing everything else, I have yet another love… One Parade is my baby, and I’ve been blogging for about a year and a half. I’m so hooked! You can read my blog at http://www.one-parade.com.

Looking forward to future developments here, and glad to read about the other Everygirls out there.

Hi, I’m Kimberly. I’m 19 and I’m from Malaysia but am currently in studying Arcitectural Design in Melbourne, Australia. I love reading books, blogs and recently my new addiction is the drama Revenge. I love the idea of flea markets and buying old furniture and turning them new. I might just hold my own flea market or boutique market in future!I have 2 gorgeously handsome dogs - a Labrador and a Golden Retriever. I don’t have a blog but would like to have one soon. I would love to have my own online magazine 5 years from now? Is that too far fetched?

I’m in my 20s, and I live in Washington DC with a roommate. I love nail polish and Victorian literature. Self-serve frozen yogurt places and Whole Foods are my happy places. My favorite color is purple, and my favorite city in the world is London. For weird ice breaker facts, I’ve never had a fast food hamburger or a headache.

  • http://www.mike-jess.com/ Jess C.

I’ll second the comments from other soon-to-be university grads – this site is such a lovely place to spend a few hours, gathering knowledge and inspiration.

I’m Jess. I’m 22. I’m an art history student at a small Canadian art school applying to do my postgrad in Europe in marketing and business administration.

A couple of years ago I traded the Atlantic Ocean for the Mediterranean sea to live on the tiny island of Malta with my boyfriend and our two chihuahua-dachshund mix pups, Ellie and Win. We are currently renting, with aspirations to own. Because who doesn’t want to own a piece of the Med? I’m working as a marketing intern for an IT company, and exploring this lovely little island with my favourite guy and our pups on weekends.

I love travel (I visited a whirlwind 11 countries and 19 cities last year), books (I’m currently listening to the audiobook version of Game of Thrones – #nerdalert!), design, branding, art history, making a mess in the kitchen, beaches, and mimosas.

My boyfriend and I blog about life on this side of the world at http://www.mike-jess.com. Pop on over to follow along on our adventure.

Keep up the good work Danielle and Alaina! Love to see such relevant, quality content and impeccable design.

  • Megan Soh

hello, hello! i’m megan, 22, raised in texas and recently moved to dc. i juggle 3 p/t jobs in weddings/styling, stationery/graphic design, and florals. i’m most definitely an EveryGirl in every sense of the word. currently renting a house with 3 other chicas: a teacher, a nurse, and a congresswoman’s assistant (quite a match, eh?). still a southern girl at heart, but i love the city. i write at suitcasesandcardigans.blogspot.com

  • http://www.sunset-vine.tumblr.com/ Elisabeth

I was reading through some comments and felt inspired to share as well! I am 24 years old and am originally from Los Angeles, Ca. However, currently, I am spending time in Germany while my husband-to-be plays hockey. Since being in Germany, I have found plenty of time to cook, bake, make, and create and try to share those experiences through a blog, http://www.sunset-vine.tumblr.com. Someday I would love to make blogging a profession, but for now I am a student and a caterer (when home in California). I am in love with all things that sparkle, but tend to add them with more masculine things when decorating and even outfit making (sounds crazy, but I find it to be a perfect match!).

  • Viviana Carmona

    Ah! I love this :)
I’m 28 yrs old and born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. I now live in NYC and work in Accounting for a Financial Services firm that’s based in Mexico. My wknds consist of traveling a lot and whenever I’m in the city then it’s catching up with friends, brunching, shopping and snuggling with my hubby. We rent an awesome 1 bedroom in what I think is the BEST neighborhood, the West Village. No dogs as of yet, but I dream of getting a blonde frenchie and naming him Ernesto (ernie, for short) :)

  • Katie Y.

Loving every inch of Everygirl! Kudos to you both! There is an excellent balance of conversation and content here – you’ve mastered a diffcult art. I’m 31 and hail from the buckeye state. By day, I manage digital work for a direct fashion retailer and by night, I’m a total fashion hound, wannabe chef and perpetual party planner. I rescued my pup Phoebe almost 10 years ago – she’s a little bit crazy but a whole lotta sweet. I’m blessed to have an amazing boyfriend who gives me an abundance of love and keeps my feet on the ground.  I recently bought a new home – a brick bungalow – and am enjoying all that comes with it.
Any adivce for someone looking to start their own blog? thinking it might be time to dip my toes.. keep up the great work!

Hi there!  My name is Lauren and I am 26, from Pittsburgh PA but currently living in Cincinnati, OH.  I have a 9-5 job – I work within Risk management at GE Aviation (we make engines for the airplanes you fly on), but I also own a side business for Wardrobe Consulting and I write the blog Stylized Existence (www.stylizedexistence.com/blog).  My dream job would probably be something more creative – although I haven’t quite figured it out!  No pets in our household because we both work too much, but I spend my free time writing the blog or working on side projects.  I own my home, it’s a cute row home in downtown Cincinnati… always working on decorating!  I live with my boyfriend of 5 years.  Lately, I’ve been getting hooked on Downton Abbey (I’m onyl halfway through Season 1) and I am addicted to the Walking Dead, too!  I am really passionate about health and wellness and take my eating and fitness seriously… I have been doing Crossfit for 1.5 years and eat a diet of mostly meats, veggies, and fruit!  I LOVE the Everygirl and enjoy reading it every day!

I have lived by myself for the past 2 years, but will be moving in with my best friend this summer to save some moolah.  I don’t have any pets here yet :( but back home in St. Louis, my dad owns two of the most adorable puggles you’ve ever seen that I miss terribly.  I also have a blog that focuses on art and design.

Thanks so much for making this site!  What a truly great resource for girls like me :)

  • JaimeLopez

I am a 28 year old marketing coordinator at a ad sales media company in Denver.  I love food, dining out and trying new things… an amature foodie of sorts.  My ideal job would be a food editor or to use my blog as a way to give trending tips and recomendations for dining out.  I just got married 6 months ago; 10 years of dating and we finally took the plunge.  I just started my blog, http://www.southonbroadway.blogspot.com at the end of 2011.  I love the ideals of the Everygirl and how blogging has opened my world to so much creativity and inspiration.

  • http://twitter.com/elleandish Janelle

Hi everyone! :D  I’m Janelle… I’m 26, soon to be turning 27 in August.  I’m from the Bay Area….I bought a condo a little more than a year ago and I live on my own.  I have a little rescue yorkie named Buddy who is 11 and I adopted him toothless!  I have a serious SO who doesn’t live with me yet, but maybe when we’re engaged in the future (conservative parents!).  Currently working as an engineer, my first job out of college.  But I didn’t have the guts to pursue a more creative job out of high school.  I love interior design and design in general!  And I love personal finance!  I have a blog (elleandish.wordpress.com) and I write about “decor, fashion and makeup and figuring out how to pay for it all.”  I’ve posted budget/spending recaps every month since mid 2009.  So I’m really really REALLY happy that TheEverygirl.com features the topic of Finance.  I think that the topic is really important and its such a passion of mine!  :D

  • Gaby Lieuw

I’m a little late in contributing but I think this is a
great idea, so I definitely wanted to join in!

I left my job as Relationship Manager at Microsoft in
Amsterdam early last year to do something…different. Although I didn’t know
exactly what that was going to be at the time, after about 8 months of travelling
I ended up back in the Caribbean on the island of Curaçao. I bought myself a DLSR
    and started http://sand-and-stilettos.com/
which I refer to as “a girl’s (getaway) guide to the Dutch Caribbean”. As of
now it’s something I work on in my free time, but I hope to someday make it
more of a full-time venture. At the moment I am in the process of setting up my
own company, as a matter of fact, I signed (the first of) the official
paperwork on my 30th birthday a couple weeks ago! I intend to
provide a la carte solutions to organizations in the areas of project
management, strategic consulting and event services. I’m currently still
re-adjusting to the island pace after having lived in Europe since I was 16 and
being back under my parent’s roof until I get everything up and running – but
it’s totally worth it because my future is up to me (and I intend to make it as
    sparkly as possible)!

I adore the Everygirl an d your own blogs, Danielle and
Alaina – keep doing great things!

  • http://twitter.com/nandid Nandi Duszynski

Hi Girls! I found your website because my cousin, Lizzie (
http://thembells.tumblr.com/) did some “copies” on a couple articles. I don’t live near her, so it was fun to find out what she was up to. I recently moved back from NYC, where I studied fashion design, to my hometown in Fairfield, IA. Midwest represent! I’m working on my fashion and accessories company http://blissjoybull.com/ most of the time. I am also in the midst of starting an art co-op for the younger crowd in my town. It’s always great to see other people “living their dreams” and making it on their own, their way. Love your site!

  • Ashley Rustad

    Hi Everyone,
My name is Ashley and I’m 25 years old. I love in Orange County and I currently work as an office manager of preschool. I love to spend time with my boyfriend on the weekends and lead bible study at church. I love things that sparkle, I still live with my parents, the OC isn’t cheap. I just started a blog (sothisiswhatshewrites.blogspot.com) in January and it’s been really fun. I also love photography and picked up my first “real” camera last month it’s a Canon T3i and I love it! Trying to learn lots about it, but it’s been rainy lately so haven’t been able to take it outside much.

  • http://www.thewhitlist.com/ Whitney {TheWhitList}

Hi!  My name is Whitney and I just turned 25.  I’m originally from Chicago, and after heading down South for college, I came back home for law school.  Which answers the next question – from 9 to 5 I work at a law firm, go to class, and do homework.  It’s a lot and it’s exhausting, but it’s almost over.  Graduation is just around the corner!  I’m not sure what my dream job is.  I don’t know if I’ll stick with the law path or indulge my creative side, which I have always been tempted to do.  I love all these sparkly and beautiful.  My fiancé and I are moving soon, so between decorating a new apartment and our wedding registry, I have been thinking about all kinds of beautiful additions to our home.  We have a dog, Molly, who we absolutely adore (I admit, we are completely obsessed).  I just started a blog a couple months ago.  Between the law firm and law school I needed a creative outlet (www.thewhitlist.com).  Blogging is definitely much harder than I thought, but I really do enjoy it.  I think it is wonderful that Danielle and Alaina had an idea and followed through on it – look how wonderful the final product is :)

  • Casidy

I too am loving The Everygirl. It’s so wonderful and I love visiting the site each day! Great job, Ladies!

As for me, I’m an Oklahoma {Tulsa} native that is now a Denver transplant. I’m a jayhawk fanatic, dog lover, pure barre teacher and a {major} chocoholic.

I left my job at the ad agency to go back to school for design. since then, I have started my own business but just recently {and officially} kicked it off. I specialize in event design and creative parties {styling, coordination and my favorite, invitations}. I believe that “all the little details” make what ever occasion that much better {and let’s face it, WAY more fun}.

I’ve officially been married for 6 months (on sunday!) and I’m loving life with my hubs and pup in our 1905 bungalow.

    Follow me {at} meohmyblog.com
-a special thanks to the awesome Danielle for the site

    Nice to meet everyone :)

  • http://profiles.google.com/lang.mk Mary Boersma

Hi ladies-  so glad to meet all of you! I love this blog, this idea and all of the fabulous content! I just wished I still lived in the Windy City to meet you two lovely ladies!

I’m 29 and currently work in advertising/marketing. I also have a personal styling business that I’m trying to get off the ground here in Wisconsin (previously was quite prosperous in Chicago, but the market is a little different here!) and figuring things out on my relatively new blog

    http://www.some-thing-nice.com

My chocolate lab puppy keeps me super busy and my husband and I enjoy spending time outdoors, boating and scouring vintage stores for the latest treasure!
    :)

  • http://galleryeight.blogspot.com/ Brittany

    Hello ladies :)

My name is Brittany and I’m 21 years old! I live in Toronto and attend university here in the city, although I’ll be graduating in less than a month! No pets here in the school apartment, but we have a kitty at home who I love :) I blog at Gallery No. Eight. My dream job is something in design; I’ve known this for a long time, but the specifics still elude me. I’ve gone between graphic design, interior design and lots in between! I’ve got a couple internships lined up for after graduation so hopefully I’ll figure it out then :)
Hope you’re both having a lovely week!! xo

  • CHICCOASTALLIVING

Hi everyone! I’m Desiree from CHIC COASTAL LIVING… I’m 41, yep 4-1 and it’s great because I feel way younger, unless that’s just how being 41 feels. :)   I live in South Florida and work during the day as a 3rd grade teacher.  I stayed home for many years with my three boys before I started working 7 years ago. After work you can probably find me cleaning up around the house, running outside at least 4 miles, watching my boys play baseball, and blogging very early in the morning or late at night after my boys have gone to bed.  I love sparkly things, my husband says he loves that I’m such a girly girl.  We renovated our home 6 years ago and I’m ready to change things up again! I just started drinking coffee when I turned 40! Now, I get what all the hype is about! It really keeps me awake and puts a little pep in my step in the morning while I’m teaching my students math! I do have a dream….to design beach bags.  I actually had a few made and they were very expensive to make, so I’m trying to find  someone who can sew them at a reasonable cost and with high quality.  Just a little about me in a nutshell! Have a great week! XO, Desiree

  • Ashley

Hi there! I love this site! I’m Ashley. I’m 25 and an event planner for a non profit in Atlanta. My dream job would be planning events for a major corporation. On weekends you can find me hanging out with friends, going concerts, shopping, traveling or at Auburn football games in the fall! No dog, but I want a cockapoo! No roommate either. I rent a lovely 1 bedroom apartment and love it! I’m in the process of starting a blog. I love the 10 meals under $50! Please do more of those! xoxo

    • http://cerrissa.blogspot.com/ Cerrissa

War Eagle!!! I’m an auburn grad too!

    • http://www.jenkins-rose.com/ Dondrea

Yay, another Atlanta girl!  I’m an Alabama alum – roll tide!  :)   If your non-profit is ever in need of invitations for a charity event, please look me up.  I’ve been brainstorming new ways to do what I love while helping some really great people.  Would love to help!

  • http://vanillaandroseblog.com/ Vanessa

I love this idea! Very few bloggers actually care and want to get to know their readers like this! Wow! So… I guess I’ll take some time to introduce myself! I’m Vanessa and I’m 26. I’m from a small town in PA. (It’s pretty boring.) I don’t work your usual 9-5 job. I’m a store manager for a major retailer. Because of this, I don’t have the typical weekends like most 9-5 jobs! My dream job? To be an entrepreneur! I love the thought of being my own boss. I’m a photographer on my free time and started a small photography business for extra money a little over a year ago. I’d love to see my business grow in the future but right now with my other full time job I just can’t find the time! Then, as if I didn’t have enough going on, I started my blog (http://www.vanillaandroseblog.com) I love being busy and having something to do non-stop so I absolutely love my blog for that! As for the other questions you mentioned… no roommate! (I do have two adorable little cats though… they count for something right? haha) So, there you have it… Me in a nutshell! Thanks for creating such an amazing blog! It’s always the first one I check out every day! :)

  • http://rise-shine-repeat.blogspot.com/ Sarah

Aloha Danielle and Alaina! I have been following both of your blogs for some time now and was so excited when you announced the beginnings of The Evergirl. I love this concept of connecting women with similar interests and life goals and encouraging each others’ success.

My name is Sarah and I’m a 26-year-old born and raised in Hawaii. I graduated from the University of Hawaii is a degree in journalism and minor in English, which have gone to good use over the last five years in my career as a journalist/writer.

I currently live with my boyfriend of 11 years and our three cats. We hope to one day add a dog or two to our happy home, but first we need to find a place with more room and a yard.

Last year I took a huge risk and left my job as an assistant editor at one of the island’s top weekly papers to pursue a career as a freelancer. Now I write for numerous publications around the island and hope to one day write for a national women’s fashion/health/fitness magazine. I also recently started a blog (rise-shine-repeat.blogspot.com) as a creative outlet where I can share my love of fashion, cooking/baking, running, dyi projects and life in general. It’s still in its infancy, but I hope to grow this “baby” and find a way to turn it into a second career path.

Keep up the fabulous work on The Everygirl, and I look forward to what more is in store.

Dear Danielle & Alaina, I’ve been following your blogs for awhile
and was SO excited when The EveryGirl premiered!  Every feature is so
creative and well thought out – and it shows! :)   Thank you for creating
this outlet for young professionals like me!

I am a 23 year old living in a suburban town of NJ just minutes away
from Philly.  I am a pediatric nurse by day (and night) and also work as
a part-time J.Crew sales associate, but in my free time I love browsing
blogs and pinterest looking for inspirational ideas.  My family has a
dog named Brownie who is a chihuahua/corgie? mix.  I have a blog but am
in the midst of revamping it…

Can’t wait to see what’s next on TEG!!

  • http://www.porchswingdreams.wordpress.com/ Kristi

Wow, so I’m super late on this but I was away last week and am now catching up on all the blog posts that happened while I was out of town. I just discovered The EveryGirl and LOVE it so far!! I turned 22 this month, and will be finishing my associate’s degree this summer from home (I had to leave school because of health issues so was unable to finish my bachelor’s). I’m an aspiring photographer currently taking a course from New York Institute of Photography, and I love all things beautiful…too many things to mention. :) I live in NJ and work part time as an in-home caregiver for seniors, and am getting back into “normal” life again as my health slowly improves. I blog at
http://porchswingdreams.wordpress.com/ about pretty much everything as I am working on saving and preparing for married life and ministry in the near future :)

  • Celeste

I am 20 years old. I spend my days teaching kindergarteners + absolutely LOVE it, my dream job*! I am also currently working towards my Masters in Child Psychology. I have a chocolate lab, Nora + a kitty cat, Josie. They are my loves! I do not have a boyfriend/husband and still live with my parents (I suppose I am still quite young, huh?)

*I have always wanted to pursue speech writing for Republican candidates/politicians + font design. (I’m a proud font snob!)

  • Katie

Love Everygirl!! Finally…not a mom blog!! I’m Katie; 29, I’m an administrator at a private school in Dayton, OH. Love entertaining, cooking, DIY projects, shopping, Keep the great posts coming!

  • Dondrea

Hi!  I’m Dondrea.  I stumbled across Danielle’s blog from Makeunder My Life.  So glad I found my way to The Everygirl.  I’m a 30 year old newlywed living in Atlanta.  I’m a CPA by day, but I design stationery and letterpress goods.  I have a 5-year old shih tzu names Brinks whom I adore.  I’ve written a couple of blogs that I’ve since deleted.  Shameful, I know.  :)   I’m hoping to start a new personal blog soon that reflects the current direction of my life. My stationery design site is here:  http://www.jenkins-rose.  Needs a little work, but it exists as is for now.  Looking forward to future posts from both of you ladies!  I can tell it’s going to be an awesome community.

  • http://www.chinyeloves.com/ Chinye

Love this idea. Hey everyone! I’m Chinye, 24 years old recent college grad living in the City of Wind. I studied policy and economics as an undergrad, and have worked within the finance and public sectors for the last few years. I’m currently getting ready to travel to Uganda for the summer to work on a microfinance project. This is sort of me chasing my dream abroad. :-) I currently blog on http://www.chinyeloves.com where I hope to inspire anyone and everyone who wants to work and live abroad to just do it! Outside of work and blogging, I’m a group leader for a city wide running group, am preparing to take the LSAT in June, spend a lot of time with my Church, drink lots of wine, and somewhere between all of that try to make time for fun! Love this website and all the work you ladies do!

  • http://tiffanyd22.blogspot.com/ Tiffany

I’m Tiffany–a 28 year old farm girl turned lawyer from New Mexico.  I wnet to school at Oklahoma State University and bleed orange!  I also love all things agriculture and own cattle, sheep and horses.  I absolutely love to travel, read, and run!  I blog at Figuring Out the Plot.  http://tiffanyd22.blogspot.com

Love Everygirl and can’t wait to read more!

  • Cindy

    Hello from Canada!
Since I’m a devoted reader of The Everygirl, I must say I’m quite pleased with the way you ladies are reaching out to the rest of us. Kudos! In the interest of sharing, here are the details about “moi”.My name is Cindy and I’m 32 years “young”. I was born in Montreal and I’ve been living in our nation’s capital, Ottawa, on and off for the last decade.I’m a translator by day for the Federal government, but truthfully, I would rather live from bread, love and writing (creative types are such romantics!). On the weekends, I enjoy time with my hubby and 11 year-old, hip-hop dancing son, affectionately nicknamed Li’l Man. Girlfriend bonding, discovering new places, reading, traveling, drooling over glossy mags – all in a weekend’s agenda! I have dabbled in various projects over the years such as event planning and blogging, but I’ve refrained from calling myself an entrepreneur until…today! I have just launched my online novel/story blog titled Paper Trail Life (www.papertraillife.com) and it’s been the most exciting revelation for me in terms of creativity and ability. Here’s to hoping that this dream will take me out of the “status quo” dungeon and land me into the career of my dreams as a writer. To get into my psyche is to know that I obsess over dresses, which makes Victoria Beckham my bestie in an alternate universe; that I have a weakness for succulent food; that I live through shows that help me “fake” my way back to my teenage years (GG, One Tree Hill, 90210, I see you!), while still remaining totally “au courant” of what the grown kids are into (Happy Endings, New Girl and Co., you have my heart!); that I feel drawn to a twisted, sarcastic sense of humour; and that most of all, I feel inspired by other Every girls like myself, because we all know who runs the world!;)Thank you ladies for your wonderful work; it’s what keeps the rest of us moving towards greatness.Cheers!Cindy

  • Kate

Hi ladies! My name is Kate. I’m 28, from the Chicago area and love my job as a program/media coordinator for an agency managing egg donor and surrogacy matches, as well as freelance writing on the side. I’ve been fans of your personal blogs for over a year and am just adoring The Everygirl. I’m in the process of getting caught up – just got back from a wedding/honeymoon whirlwind in Ireland! I love exploring everything our beautiful city has to offer, from boutiques to museums to restaurants. I’m also trying to live a more eco-friendly life, so that’s a big priority!

  • http://www.beautejadore.com/ Nikki

Hello, I love this site, I happened upon it today and immediately popped it into my favorites.  I’m 30 faux lol I live outside of Washington DC but originally from Nebraska.  I went to undergrad at University of Nebraska and graduate at GW.  I recently left my career as a General Manager for a very large company to start a beauty review business.  I took a leap of faith and I’m living my dream job.  I have two cats, Nelson and Callie and a dog Curious.  I’m engaged to be married May 7th in St. Lucia and we purchased an amazing house last year that’s taking forever to decorate.  My decorating adventures can be found on my blog http://www.beautejadore.com which is where I share most of what I love which is fashion, food, beauty and decorating.

  • Caz

Hi Gorgeous Ladies! I had to say what an amazing site this is, so relevant, inspirational and positive… it’s the ray of sunshine in my Google Reader!

I’m Caz and I’m originally from a small town in Southern England where for as long as I could remember I felt like an American trapped in the body of an English-woman. Thankfully, after taking gap year after college as a Casino Host on board a cruise ship, fate shined sweetly upon me and I met my wonderful husband and moved to New Orleans where I now work as a Marketing Coordinator.

Entrepreneurialism runs in my family and I plan to launch my own business very soon – being my own boss is my dream job. In the meantime, reading blogs, experimenting in the kitchen and Pinterest take up my free days. No four legged friends over here – although I love them I’m terribly allergic! I’m getting into Southern fashion although will always stay true to my Brit style. I love my UK shops (Topshop, River Island and Oasis) but dabble in the US high street which I’m becoming increasingly fond of (Forever 21, J. Crew especially). Overall I’m loving life and the adventures it has presented me. I just turned 29 and can’t wait to enjoy the last year of my 20s!

  • http://www.heatherpranitis.blogspot.com/ Heather Pranitis

Hello! I’m 35 and live in the Valley of the Sun (Phoenix, Arizona). During the day I’m the Firm Administrator of a boutique law firm (aka Office Manager and Bookkeeper rolled into one). On the weekends I run, lift weights, make note cards for my online shop, and take Mom Sunday morning movies. My night-time j-o-b is the Owner and Creative Designer at http://www.blondiesshop.com my online shop.  I dream of operating this shop from 9 to 5 and traveling the world when not making cards, all while getting paid to do it!  If there is a will, there is a way…  No doggie or chinchilla at the moment but, one day.  I love a sparkly bauble or two…let’s throw in the chandelier over my bathtub as well.  I’m a single gal, living a single life in my snazzy and contemporary 458 square foot abode (aka my apartment). In my free time when not working, at the gym, making cards, or spending time with friends or family I write on over at …this & that… (www.heatherpranitis.blogspot.com).
I’m looking forward to getting to know you! See you soon.

  • http://www.vancouvercameragirl.blogspot.ca/ Arsh

Love your blog, love what you do here on Everygirl, a fun and fabulous blog.

I’m Arsh, 28 from Vancouver, Canada. I’m a structural engineer and I design bridges and ports from 9-5 (well not alone, with the help of my colleagues, hehe).
I enjoy pilates and hot yoga, and I love glittery and sparkly things! I own my condo and I am engaged and going to be married in 2 months.

Will be reading you more, and thanks for the great work you girls put in here.

Hi, my name is Najat! I am 22. I married my highschool sweetheart at a young age, when I was 21. We had been together for four years. I had a DIY wedding and we had the blessings of both our families. Our 2nd year anniversary is June 12th!

I studied English as an undergrad. I just graduated and am venturing out into the wonder

    • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002503201969 Najat Shamsid-Deen

whoops! This is Najat still. I meant to say I am venturing out into the wonderful world of teaching. My dream is to one day be a literary agent or to publish children’s books.

I love to hike, I love looking at crafty and fashion blogs, and I love great conversation and reading. I used to dream of starting my own magazine, so it gives me great pleasure to support Everygirl!

  • Chrissy

Happy Friday Ladies!  I am very new to Everygirl.

I am almost 30 and married for over 5 years.  Born and raised in New Orleans, I am a homeowner in Lafayette, LA, and work as a Quality Manager in a chemical plant.  My undergraduate is in Mechanical Engineering, and I finished my MBA in 2009.

On the weekends I am never at home: gym, running, shopping, taking pictures, movies, visiting, dinners, parties.  My dream job would be either to own my own studio (art and photography) or a professional organizer.  No pets, not even a house plant!  Ran my first marathon in Houston this year, and my three goals for the year are to learn to bake artisan bread, plan our trip to France for the Tour in 2013 (husband has been following for 20+ years), and improve what little French I know.

Always nice to see and meet the people that follow the same blogs as me.  Really enjoying the posts and love the pictures and design!

  • Jwhaley

Hello! My name is Jasmine, and I’m new to this site. I’ve only been here for about 12 minutes, but this is probably love so don’t be alarmed if this gets weird.

I’m 21 and a senior at a private university in North Carolina that I can no longer afford. I generally enjoy talking about this university (I’m a tour guide). My favorite color is glitter. I’m semi-proficient in English & Arabic; fluent in sarcasm. I live and die by the Almighty High Heel. I believe in coffee, daydreaming, reading, coffee, shoes, and coffee and anything doused in glitter. I am vehemently opposed to anything dealing with pregnancy and childbirth. I despise reality TV, expensive weddings, and funerals. I’m a cheerleader. Oscar de la Renta is my official religion. I’d like to spend the next 5-10 years frolicking around the Middle East as an international correspondent. I tend to talk politics when drunk, as well as when I sober. It’s becoming a problem. And that’s probably all you’ll ever need/want to know about me–ever.

  • http://myprettypennies.com ginna

I am petless and childless but live with a handsome man lucky to call my husband in a rented apartment. I blog at htpp://myprettypennies.com about my newlywed life on a budget.

    Have a great day! :)
