Coffee Talk: The Super Bowl

TheEverygirl_CoffeeTalk_Superbowl

It’s almost been a week since Super Bowl XLVII. Some of us are still recovering from our post-Super Bowl party food comas, while others are basking in football glory. For sports fans and advertising executives alike, Super Bowl Sunday is hailed as the most important day of the entire year. But not all of us are football aficionados or enjoy the multi-million commercials. Some look forward to the game day grub promised at Super Bowl parties, while others watch the game only for the halftime show. And what a show Beyoncé put on this year, she not only brought down the house with her electrifying performance, but the lights too!

Are you an avid sports fan—did you watch for the football? Or are Super Bowl snacks more your thing? Did you consider the first half a mere warmup for Beyoncé’s halftime show? Are you an advertising junkie who enjoys watching just for the commercials?

We want to know, what was your favorite part of Super Bowl XLVII?

I’m a football fan but my team didn’t make it. Beyoncé crushed it. And so did Oreo for their genius ‘you can still dunk in the dark’ Twitter marketing during the black out.

Oreo did a great job with their real-time marketing. I liked their library commercial as well.

The power outage, because it gave me and my husband (two very not-into-sports people) an excuse to leave his parents’ Super Bowl party, haha!

You mean something happened after the Beyoncé concert? I think I blacked out from the awesomeness.

I love it all, the football, the halftime show, and the commercials! I’m still recovering from my food coma almost a week later.

It was a great game and this coming from me, a non football fan:) Beyonce sounded great especially live:) And loved the Audi commercial with the high school kid…it was great!

I like football but with the Patriots not playing I was mostly watching for the advertisements. I’ve been in the marketing/graphic design field for just under 7 years and love to see what agencies come up with. I also love the food. This year I made turkey burgers and homemade hamburger buns. Delicious!

Being in NOLA for the Superbowl was one of the most incredible experiences. Despite the power outage the city put on a good show and was electric with all the fabulous out of town visitors.

Having said that, seeing the Ravens and their fans instead of the Patriots was a hard pill to swallow!!

I love everything about the Super Bowl! The football, the food, the music, the commercials, the friends and family! It is all great.

I especially liked this year and how much conversation the game and performances sparked, I do love a lively debate. But no matter what anyone says, Queen B was at her best and that was the show of a lifetime!

I look forward to the Super Bowl solely for the food, commercials and obviously, this year for Beyonce. Except, because I’m in Italy, there aren’t any American snacks and they didn’t show any of the good commercials!! Thank goodness for Beyonce!!
