The Everygirl's One Year Anniversary at West Elm
There's nothing quite as unsettling as having one of the season's biggest snowstorms headed your way the night of your big party. This, unfortunately, was the case last Thursday evening, when we celebrated The Everygirl's one year anniversary at the West Elm store in Lincoln Park. To our delight, the snow held off until later in the evening; long enough to allow our team, the West Elm group, and more than 300 guests to enjoy a couple hours of music, prosecco, small desserts from Crème Crafted Parties, and six amazing giveaways.
It was such an honor to partner with one of our favorite stores for this exciting occasion, as it's no secret we at The Everygirl are huge fans of West Elm. The expansive and ever-chic store was filled with people chatting, laughing, and nibbling on clouds of watermelon cotton candy by Spin Spun. DJ and Producer Annalise Freytag of Fig Media set the party mood with energizing beats as guests mingled and captured silly moments at the Smilebooth. Be sure to see all of the photos in our Smilebooth album on Facebook!
We're so grateful to those who braved the weather to join our celebration. It was wonderful to see faces of the women we featured on the site, as well as the stylish readers who have supported us over the past year. The first 100 guests received gift bags (all of which were gone by 6:05pm!) which included hair ties by Mane Message, colorful Paper Flowers by West Elm, red velvet cake pops by Big City Little Sweets, nourishing black currant lip healer by Cecilia Wong Skincare, whimsical illustrated cards by Rifle Paper Co., and gift certificates to Sunda and Rockit Bar & Grill. Halfway through the evening, we toasted to all of these brands and of course our guests and readers, and proceeded to announce the six lucky winners of our big event giveaways: a $100 gift card to West Elm, a $100 gift card to Chicago q, brunch at Sunda for four, dinner at Rockit Bar & Grill for two, the coveted O.G. bag by Lo & Sons, and a facial or massage gift card to Nomi Spa at the Park Hyatt Chicago. The looks on the winners faces were priceless (see in the photos above).
We have to thank Blow By Blow, one Chicago's newest blow dry bars, for their hair styling magic, and Kate Spade New York for our saturated party frocks (find Danielle's blue dress here, Alaina's pink dress here). The event was photographed, per usual, by the dynamic and talented Maura and John Stoffer of Stoffer Photography, and we couldn't have put forth such a successful night without sponsors West Elm, Chicago Q, Rockit Bar & Grill, Lo & Sons, Fig Media, Sunda, and Park Hyatt. We are so grateful to these fantastic brands for helping make our one year anniversary party so memorable. A heartfelt thank you to the staff of West Elm; we wouldn't have been able to do it without you, and of course, to our family, friends, and beloved readers. We couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate our first year.
Here's to many more to come!
