Hear This: Pearl And The Beard

Whether it’s a subway platform in New York City or a cozy venue somewhere in the States, Pearl And The Beard captivates audiences with their soulful, quirky music. The folk-pop trio describes themselves as “three voices, one cello, one guitar, one glockenspiel, one melodica, several drums, one accordion, ninety-six teeth, and one soul.”

While nothing quite compares to their live shows, Pearl And The Beard tells stories through lyrics that are charming, clever, and intelligent. From sad songs that twinkle (“Swimming”) to cello-powered jams (“Hot Volcano” – one of their best live songs) to songs about loss and change (“Donny & Johnny”), you’re sure to find something to fit your mood.

“Douglas Douglass” will have you stomping and clapping along, while “Oh, Death!” will make you feel loved (how could you not, with these lyrics: I love you the way you are, the way you’ve always been).

They’re fun, they’re eclectic, they’re heartwarming, they’re like those fun relatives you only get to see once a year. Check out some of their crowd favorite songs below, listen to more of their music here/here, and stay tuned for their new album that’s now in the works!
