How to Style a Romper 3 Ways for the Weekend

Here in the U.S. the countdown to Memorial Day weekend is officially on! (Hooray for three days off!) Have you started packing your bags yet? There are a few key travel essentials that no suitcase is complete without, and at the top of that list is the summer one piece. Even if you’re gearing up for a long weekend stay-cation, you’ll want to take note of this warm weather must have.

The one piece is the quintessential grab and go staple: Just pull it on, pair with your favorite accessories, and you’re good to go! In the words of Tim Gunn, it’s not hard to “make it work” for any occasion. To prove it, we challenged our fashion editor, Jess Keys, to style this version from Target three different ways for three different days!

Casual Saturday

Whether you’re shopping downtown, picnicking in the park, or exploring a new city, a one piece is perfect for a casual daytime occasion. Just throw on your favorite jean jacket (a chambray button down works great, too!) with your favorite sandals and be on your way!

The Beach

A romper is a no brainer for the beach, lake, or pool—wear it as a cover up over your bathing suit, or on its own! A strapless, shorts version is perfect for avoiding those annoying tank top tan lines that come with most cover-ups. Plus, the breezy, lightweight fabric keeps you cool in the sun.

Dressed Up Date Night

Think out of the box and style your romper as a top! For a feminine feel, pull your favorite midi skirt over your one piece and you’ve got a completely new look!
