We’ve confessed our love for Airbnb over and over, but everywhere we turn there are new (and affordable!) vacation rentals popping up. These photoworthy spots have garnered more than just good reviews—they are becoming instagram famous. Some with thousands of followers and others with their own location tags, there’s no denying each of these spots has now been added to our vacation wishlist. Do it for the #gram, right?
1. McCarn Bnb
Nashville, TN | @mccarnbnb
The McCarn bnb is a 1930’s bungalow located to the east of downtown Nashville. Although it’s only a 15 minute drive to the tourist favorites on Broadway, the real appeal of the home is its proximity to local bars and breweries in East Nashville. Nearly 6,000 Instagram users follow McCarn for glimpses of the bungalow’s exposed brick walls and pink bathroom sink.
Joshua Tree, CA | @thejoshuatreehouse
With over 54k Instagram followers, there’s no denying the appeal of The Joshua Tree House. Built in 1949, the hacienda sits in the heart of Joshua Tree National Park. The owners of the Insta-famous Airbnb stumbled across Joshua Tree on a cross country road trip and decided to put down roots to allow fellow travelers to experience the beauty of the desert.
Atlanta, GA | @treehouseatl
Earlier this year, Airbnb named the Atlanta Treehouse as the Most Wished-For Listing in the world – and for good reason. The dreamy treetop home is favorite destination for weddings, honeymoons and photo shoots (including Free People!). Three small rooms are adjoined by a rope bridge draped in white lights to create the perfect fairy tale vibe for any romantic getaway. The secluded treehouse is just a 15 minute drive into downtown Atlanta, offering guests the best of both worlds during their stay.
4. Hideout Bali
Selat, Bali, Indonesia | @hideoutbali
Hideout Bali is one of the most popular Airbnbs on Instagram—and for good reason. Located in the mountains of Bali, Indonesia, the bamboo home offers a truly “off the grid” stay for guests looking to escape the rigors of everyday life and get back to nature. The land around the house is home to rice fields, rivers and wildlife (including a live-in stray kitten), and guests can take advantage of local rafting, diving and hiking in the nearby towns.
Isla Mujeres, Mexico | #seashellhouse
The Island of Isla Mujeres is located just off the coast of Cancun, Mexico and is home to The Seashell House, built by architect Eduardo Ocampo in the 1990’s. In addition to the whimsical exterior, the home also treats guests to an interior that continues the theme; white walls, curved doorways and bathroom faucets made out of seashells. There are two master bedrooms within the home, one located within each of the two shells, making it the perfect escape for a family of four or a couples getaway.
Joshua Tree, CA | @domeinthedesert
Another colorful home in Joshua Tree is the aptly named Dome in the Desert, and over 50k people follow the adventures of those who stay in the small desert home. The Dome provides guests unparalleled views of the night sky and a cozy home to relax in with acres of private land surrounding it. In addition to the serenity of the location, guests of the Airbnb are treated to fresh juice from a local juicer while they enjoy the home’s natural wood burning fireplace.
Hollywood Beach, CA | @thebeachlodge
The Beach Lodge is situated along the Pacific Coast Highway between Santa Barbara and Malibu, California. The three bedroom beach house boasts 23k Instagram followers thanks to the spectacular ocean views and the dreamy interiors steeped with nautical accents, colorful fabrics and cozy corners full of books and board games.
Flagstaff, AZ | @aframeflagstaff
A-Frame Flagstaff is on a 1.5 acre in Coconino National Forest and only 90 minutes from the Grand Canyon. At 755 square feet, this rustic cabin is a cozy getaway in a peaceful rural area. You can bring your pets and take advantage of their mountain bikes for some great outdoor fun. And if it looks a little familiar, that’s because American Eagle shot their winter catalog here.
