Everything You Need to Know About the New Extended Sizing at Madewell

Time to do my biggest happy dance of the year because MADEWELL HAS EXTENDED SIZING!!!! I’ve lusted after a pair of Madewell jeans for what feels like forever but figured I’d either have to squeeze into their normal largest size (a 32 — never gonna happen for me) or find an alternative (no thank you). They’re casual but sexy, the quality is impeccable, and they make everyone I know look like a million bucks.

Madewell brought out extended sizing for their jeans in January, and they sold like hot cakes. Now, they’re releasing even more options, including denim up to a size 35 (37 in some styles!) and tops and jackets up to a 3X. Specifically, Madewell developed their “Curvy Jean” to fit (obviously) a curvier body type. They’re similar to their normal high-rise skinny jeans, except they have a little more room in the hips and thighs.

Madewell has said they will have their extended sizes in store to try on, but they will only be available for purchase online as of right now. Let’s get these babies in stores!!! Plus sized women more than anyone want to try on these jeans, and once I get them in my hands, they’ll have to pry them off of me. Instead of having an entirely new plus size range, they want to make their current styles available for different body types. LOVE. However, in doing so, it would be amazing to see even more sizes, as their size 35 jean only equals a regular size 20. I also love the concept of the Curvy Jean, but what about apple and pear shaped bodies?! Not all plus sized women are an hourglass shape, so adding even more styles for other bodies would be AMAZING.

We love a good size inclusive brand, and we’re so excited to (hopefully!) see more plus sized pieces and sizes from Madewell in the future! Here are some of our favorite pieces from Madewell’s launch. YASSS!
