My Week of Outfits: Jeannine Benoit Adams of Ready Pretty

Hi, friends! Jeannine here. My name may be familiar as I contribute fashion and style posts for The Everygirl each month! In addition, I’m the founder and CEO of Ready Pretty, the online wardrobe styling service that connects personal stylists to real women in need of fashion help. People always think that because of my job I have an overflowing closet of unlimited clothes. Quite the contrary! I like an organized and tidy closet which means I have a very edited collection of favorite pieces that range from really great basics, to extra special finds in bright hues or bold silhouettes.

My best tip for getting out the door each morning? Plan ahead. With a young family (it’s me, my hubby Elliot, 3-year-old son Ethan, and pup Mac) and a business to run, standing in my closet at 7:30 each morning contemplating what works with what is just not an option. I take the time each night to sort out what I’m wearing for the next day. I’m a jeans and t-shirt girl at heart, but I tend to make the top a little extra special when I can.

Here’s my week full of outfits — from what I wore, to how I styled it, to why I love it all.

Monday

I was meeting with several different boutiques in and around Chicago to bring on as brand partners for Ready Pretty, so I needed to look both pulled together and stylish. I opted for this classic wrap dress in an unexpected print. For me, it was the perfect mix of both professional and polished, while still fresh and stylish.

Tuesday

Today was an in the office all day kind of day, but still 90 degrees outside so I dressed appropriately. What you don’t see in this pic (because it was SO hot) is the denim jacket that I kept with me in the office that day if I got too chilly. I picked up this skirt in NYC at least five years ago and it’s been a staple in my closet ever since. It’s incredibly versatile, but for this day I decided to go super simple and do a basic black tank. I added fun accessories like this navy neckerchief and studded block sandals for added visual interest.

Wednesday

On this day I was meeting with several new stylist prospects and wanted to give off a “we’re a fun, stylish place to work” vibe — ha!  So I put on one of my favorite over-the-top tops, my go-to denim, and these pretty satin mules. My hubby and I also had a mid-week date night planned so I wanted to wear something a little extra special. The top and slides speak for themselves — so much fun to wear (!), and I can’t say enough good things about this denim. People are always surprised when I say my favorite denim brand right now is Levi’s, but they are. I love that these don’t have a lot of stretch — it feels like true, strong denim. And the higher waist offers tons of styling options (and hugs all the right places) versus a lower cut.

Thursday

Thursday was a two outfit kind of day. I was lucky enough to be scouting locations for an upcoming photo shoot and had access to one of my friends and photographers Brissa, from Breeze Art Creatives with me. This simple white dress is a classic silhouette, with pretty details like the subtle mesh cutouts. I paired it with my go to denim jacket and these gorgeous blush heels I scored on sale for less than $25 at Target. Yes, Target!

Later that night, I hosted an event at one of my favorite Chicago boutiques and wore this bold jacket with basic white pants and strappy heels. It’s such a fun and fresh take on dress pants and a blazer!

Friday

Hello casual Friday! Back to that denim that I love! I paired it with this pretty cropped lace top, but due to the higher waist, kept my tummy covered. Adding my favorite new white sneaker to the mix made the look way more casual. With a simple shoe switch however, this outfit could turn into date night. But not that day — it turned into a short work day, and I picked up my son early from daycare and headed to the park with family.

There it is! My weeks worth of looks. It’s a bit neutral, a bit bold, and all things that I love. Even in my profession, I don’t shop all the time, but when I do, I’m looking for quality pieces, that I can style a ton of different ways and that make me look pulled together — even when I’m not!
