This or That: Peacoat or Trench Coat

The outerwear you choose says a lot about your style. When you’re bundled up, braving the cold, the only nod to your fashion sense is your jacket. Trench coats are polished, easy to layer, and exude a certain cool factor. Peacoats are polished, a little bit preppy, and work for most occasions. Do you prefer the more laid back trench or are you a classic peacoat gal?

    Both, it depends on the weather! But, I have more trench coats, so I guess I’m more of a trench coat girl!

    I agree with Kim, I have both and for the colder days I choose the pea coat, but for the warmer days I love the trench!  I feel more refined in the trench, though, for sure.

    I’m definitely a classic peacoat gal. Back in college I found a classic navy blue wool peacoat for only $5! Best money I’ve ever spent.

    I own and love both, and agree that colder days call for the pea coat while warmer ones that still require a jacket get dressed with the trench!

    That’s a toughy! My trench coat is my fall go-to; the poofy sleeves add flare to the most casual of outfits. Last winter, I invested in a long, slimming black peacoat with a fur hood. I feel polished, yet cozy every time I’m in it. Looking forward to getting a lot of use out of both this season!

    You know, I have never tried a trench. I have been classic pea coat for years. Perhaps it is because I am curvy and it works better for me. If I ever find the perfect trench I will likely snatch it up.

    If temps are decent, I love trench coats – I have two that I’ve had for years. But usually they can’t keep me warm enough – so I have a pea coat, but long for the length… the solution? A wool coat that’s longer like a trench and has a waistbelt as well. Love it.
