This or That: Live Shopping or Online Shopping?

TheEverygirl_ThisOrThat_shopping

When it comes to buying new pieces for your wardrobe, actually trying something on can be the easiest way to decide if something is right for you. Being able to physically touch the fabric, see the color, and feel the fit are crucial for some shoppers. On the other hand, it can be hard to motivate yourself to weather the cold and go shopping when you can easily browse the sales from the comfort of your own home. Online shopping lets you avoid horrible dressing room lighting, persistent sales associates, and the travel time. Tell us, which do you prefer? Would you rather shop in store or on the web?

If I know my sizes for a particular store, I much prefer to buy online.  The sales people at some stores are relentless!  However, sometimes there is no replacement for seeing items in store and getting to touch them and try them on.  Especially shoes!

I’m in the middle on this one. There is nothing better than going to the store and trying an item on, but if you know what you want and what size you are, you can often find the items for waaay cheaper online. BUT if I had to choose, live shopping will always win :)

Live shopping all the way. For the experience, touching the clothes, trying them on and for the sense of accomplishment.

Although I’m constantly shopping online I always manage to find time to run into a store.  I can buy five pairs of shoes from Zappos to try on, but the waiting kills me.  So then I’ll stop in to try on shoes at Macy’s.

In person is always the best for me. Sometimes the quality of an item can be misleading online.

I’m not a huge fan of online shopping for my wardrobe. I’m a buy-what-fits kind of girl and getting a package w/ clothes in the mail doesn’t provide me the same satisfaction as browsing stores, feeling the fabric, seeing the colors & details, trying things on and hauling those shopping bags home!

In store. I need to feel the fabric and see it, same with shoes & bags. Plus, I like to make a day out of it, take my time, have lunch, etc.

Shopping in-store. I love trying on clothes. I only online shop in fashion emergencies!

Definitely in the store. I feel like whenever I buy clothes online I always end up returning most of it. It’s so much fun to spend a day either by yourself or with friends shopping!

I love browsing online, but there’s so many times I’ve been disappointed by a fit, color or fabric when I order online.  I only order online when I know the item has fit me in the past.

    I gave sort of a lengthy response here… http://sofisticatedwisdom.com/?p=345&preview=true :)

I absolutely love shopping in stores. I need to be sure something’s going to fit me before I buy it. But I must admit, etsy is too much fun not to love!

I prefer to shop in person, but sometimes better deals are had on the internet. And many stores offer free shipping, often both ways, so it makes returning a breeze. There’s also much more available online. The only thing I dislike about the shopping online is the lack of instant gratification!

I always love looking at stuff on line, but I can’t resist in store shopping. I’m petite, so I never really find a great fit online and I still really love seeing things in person and trying them on. So, I always want to like online shopping and never actually get anything great from it. I love love love in store shopping… even when I tell myself it’s just going to be window shopping!

I work in retail and am at the mall 5 days a week so I rarely think of shopping there enjoyable. I’m all about online shopping!

I am all about online shopping these days! I can usually score better deals and I can’t stand paroosing with mass amounts of people. It might be different if I lived somewhere else but Michigan Ave is a couple blocks away and it is always flooded with tourists! I vote online!
