This or That: Red or White Wine

TheEverygirl_ThisOrThat_wine

A nice glass of wine is something to look forward to, whether it’s after a long day at work or at dinner on the town. Your favorite cut of meat is nothing without a glass of red. Sometimes a light glass of white with brunch is the perfect Sunday treat. Regardless of the occasion, we all have our preferences.  Do you savor the richness of red wine or would you rather indulge in a lighter white wine?

    Definitely red wine :)

Lighter white wine. Preferably moscato or a riesling! I need mine sweet :)

I enjoy both, but I’d probably say red. I don’t remember ever tasting a red that I hated (not to say I’ve loved them all), but I’ve had a few whites that I just couldn’t drink…

Sweet, dessert-y, fruity white – All the way!

I love both! But I tend to drink red in the colder months and white in the warmer…my fave red is a malbec, and white is a pinot grigio :) Now I want wine, and it’s only 10:40am. LOL

My favourite is a nice crisp Rosé wine. I used to only love white but now I’m a big fan of bold red wine. I fell in love with red wine when I was lucky enough to visit Napa Valley. Rutherford Hills has awesome red wines.

I was at Rutherford Hills winery last month and fell in love with their Sangiovese– amazing flavor! I’m waiting for the perfect Italian dinner to pair it with :)

Mmm good idea – Italian food would be awesome with it. My fav was the Merlot from them. Unfortunately it’s hard to find around here in Vancouver :(
Maybe it’s an excuse to go to Napa Valley again! lol

I’m a red wine kind of girl!

  • Nora O’malley

    White. I love riesling.

Bold red, all the way. It doesn’t matter what I’m eating (though if it’s before 4:00 p.m., I typically stick to white), I LOVE a good red. We’re big wine people :)

Ohh love this. Typically a sweeter white wine, but there’s nothing like a glass of chianti :)

We do more white wine at our house because my husband is allergic to the tannins/sulfates (not sure which, just know that he can’t drink red at all), though I love a glass of full-bodied red at the end of a long day.

It depends on the mood for me. When I am feeling sexy *blush*, I tend to go for a red, but on a typical day alone or with the girls…i gravitate towards a white.  I generally would buy a Moscato or Riesling.

white blends are usually my favorite, but the chill of fall is encouraging me to consider red these days.

Both! Don’t make me choose! Mostly I like white wine with snacks in the summer, and red wine is for late nights with a meal. My favorite of all, though, is sparkling wine.

I enjoy white wine but a sweet red always wins me over!

  • Sarah

I love both! But I definitely would choose red over white.

Have to say I am definitely a dry, full bodied red drinker!!  White is ok – if I am having sushi, I will choose that.  But any other time, definitely red!

tough question! I vote for red wine.. unless of course there is a vintage champagne- I’ll take that any day!

I tend to use red to unwind :-)

I typically drink reds with certain foods or in the evenings and prefer whites– espec. Pinot Grigio– anytime!
