This or That: Traditional or Over-The-Top Manicures

theeverygirl_thisorthat_nails

There is no arguing that a manicured hand says a lot about a woman. From assumptions on cleanliness to overall trendiness, sometimes your nails do the talking. Do you prefer a clean and classic manicure in a neutral hue that flies under the radar? Maybe you dabble in a bit of nail art or prefer funky multi-colored nails to push the envelope. Do your nails often match your personality? Which type of manicure do you prefer… traditional or over-the-top?

typically i prefer traditional – a greige or some variation on grey, but change it up from time to time. i usually stick to traditional b/c if they chip, it’s less noticeable! (and i do lots of things w/ my hands over the course of a week/10 days…). exception: NYE… bring on the sparkles :-)

traditional on a regular basis but once in awhile i am feeling daring & go over the top!

I’m definitely a traditional french manicure girl!! =) I have a friend that’s gets beading and tips but it’s just not for me! I like classic looks so yeah my manicure style matches my personality! =)

I’m definitely a traditional girl. I’m either a red or pink or some variation of those colors. Not much experimentation for me! Although, I do always admire all the pretty sparkly varnishes at Sephora. Maybe it’s time for a change!

I typically go for the traditional manicures – I really like pale, neutral shades so it works for me.  Though, there are a few times here and there where I’ll go over-the-top; think New Year’s Eve, St. Patrick’s Day, and similar holidays.

Traditional, many because I fail at anything too complicated when it comes to my nails. Also I think a perfect solid color mani is a great way to pull together your look.

I like them both, I change my mani’s to fit what I’m doing. If its all business then I go with Essie Ballet Slippers.  If it’s all fun, like a day at the beach I go bright, decorative and fun. Go BIG or go home, right?

I’m traditional but occassionally I’ll do one nail (on my ring finer) that is different/daring.

Traditional!! I love neutrals and pink!! I tend to be daring on the weekend or if I’m on vacation from work! I work in a very professional environment so I really couldn’t pull off the multi-colored look!

I like both! I usually stick to one solid color beige, gray, darks blues and purples. I’ll jazz it up for a special occasion with an accent on one nail or some sparkles.

I teach Kindergarten which gives me the every day excuse to always opt for BRIGHT colors over neutral tones… but I tend to shy away from patterns and over the top bedazzlement that ladies tend to love in Seoul, South Korea… for now at least!
