2 Work-to-Night Beauty Looks You Can Do at Your Desk

Does it seem like you barely have time for lunch at work, let alone time to reapply a full-on beauty look for a night out on the town? Problem solved! Here are two polished and pretty hair and makeup looks you can easily do at your desk, along with double duty beauty products to keep stashed at work for those rush out of the office kind of nights!

LOOK ONE // Glowy In A Hurry

STEP ONE: contouring

Add contour to your existing morning makeup by adding bronzer or a darker shade blush onto the hollows of your cheeks. We worked with universal favorite, MAC’s Harmony Blush. Best if applied with an angled contouring brush like MAC’s 168 Brush.

Next, with the same brush, apply the same contouring color along your jawline for added definition.

STEP TWO: blush

Here comes the glow. With a professional blush brush, apply an all-in-one color enhancing blush and highlighter combo like MAC’s Mineralize Skinfinish Blush in Cheeky Bronze. Smile and apply the color to the apples of the cheeks.

With your finger, add some soft highlight to your lids with a cream-to-powder shadow like L’Oreal’s Infallible 24 Hr Eye Shadow in Iced Latte or any of MAC’s Pro Longwear Paint Pots in a mettalic color. If you want to add sheen to the lid, try Chanel Illusion D’ Ombre in 90 Convoitise as we did here. This little dome of color works miracles, making it a very mindful purchase. Artistry tip and time saver: It can be used as an eyeshadow base, lid and/or brow accent color, eyeliner, cheek highlighter or pout highlighter over lipstick.

Bonus Tip: This is an excellent time to blend any morning eye makeup that’s creased or gone astray throughout the day. Try MAC 217 Blending Brush to buff away any previously formed harsh lines.

Finish your eyes by curling your lashes and adding some volume mascara. Try Cover Girl’s Bombshell Volume by Lash Blast.

Add some dewy gloss with a lot of sheen like Forever 21’s High Pigment Gloss in Nude to the lips.

Instead of fussing with a three strand braid, pin back front fringe (works with any length of hair) by creating a fun and easy rope braid.

Form two strands at the front and start weaving as you would a regular french braid. Grab hair outside of the rope braid and blend it with the strand that’s closest to the scalp. Secure ends with two gold hair pins. Use metallic pins (versus traditional hair pins) because they serve as true accessories and focal points in your hairstyle. Try these from H&M.

STEP SIX: wardrobe

Switch out your work pant or office skirt for sexy leather shorts. Pair back with a metallic clutch for additional, effortless sizzle. In a pinch, try using your makeup bag for an evening clutch (like we did here).

LOOK TWO // Pouf and Pout

STEP ONE: lips

Make a quick, big impact by making your lips the focus. Try a bright color to instantly perk up your look after a long work day. Try a bold lip wardrobe from Forever 21’s Love & Beauty Velvet Finish Collection. We used the color coral pink. Bonus beauty tip: Your phone’s camera makes an excellent mirror!

STEP TWO: blush

Create easy to wear blush. Swash the same lip color on the back of your hand to warm up the product and apply the hue to the apples of your cheeks with your fingers. This method allows for control of application.

Create volume without heat appliances or too much effort. You’ll be working in three quick sections.

First Section, Right Side: Spray volumizing spray directly to your scalp and tease with a teasing comb or brush. Pin teased section backwards and secure with gold hair pins.

Second Section, Left Side: Spray volumizing spray directly to your scalp, tease, and pin section backwards.

Third Section, Back Side: Tease your crown and use the handle of your teasing brush to raise volume. Secure all sections in place with volumizing spray.

Tease any front layer you may have to create lift and allow hair to drape across your face, framing your eyes. Secure with spray.

Voila, you’re good to go! Try removing a blazer or adding a punchy jacket to take things from work to play.
