3 Affordable Looks for All Your Holiday Parties

Is it just us or are December weekends booking up faster than you can say Son of a Nutcracker?! Gift exchanges, cookie exchanges (yea–it’s a thing), holiday office parties, dinners with family and friends… all good stuff of course! But it can get expensive.

And we are having a difficult time coming up with anything different to wear to all of these soirees! Not a bad problem to have, let’s be honest. But because we’d rather not be seen in the same sequin dress eight times this holiday season, we’ve partnered with affordable fashion brand LuLu*s to bring you three outfit ideas for your various festivities. They have dozens of dresses (and accessories!) under $100 making it easy to find something every occassion you have coming up.

We’ve got Laura of Bright + Beautiful donning a sparkly outfit for the friends holiday party. Erica of Everything Erica has a more conservative but still festive look for the office holiday party, and Aramide of The Sassy Peach is rocking a cozy but chic home for the holidays look!

The best part? All three looks are entirely from LuLu*s and under $200 from head to toe, down to the accessories.

1. The Occasion: Holiday Soiree with Friends

THE OUTFIT: Obviously either a bright red or sparkly frock seems like the easy answer for your holiday parties. But what if say… you haven’t yet “invested” in a bright red or sequined dress but you still want to show off your holiday spirit? We recommend grabbing your go-to LBD and let the accessories take care of the rest! Show off your shiny gold jewelry, strappy heels, bedazzled ring, and opt for a bold red lip and a higher-than-high top knot.

Regarding dress style, feel free to go with a more fitted or flirty silhouette since you’re in a more casual setting among friends! We love the twirl of this skater skirt for rocking around the Christmas tree.

SHOP THE LOOK:
black dress $36
ankle strap heels $22
gemstone ring $11 (similar here)
tri-band sparkly bracelet $12 (similar here)
gold pendant necklace $11
rhinestone earrings $10

2. The Occasion: The Office Party

THE OUTFIT: Ahh the holiday work party. Whether it’s yours or your significant other’s, it’s always tricky walking the fine line where appropriate meets fun. This not only goes for what to say and how much to drink, but the age-old question of what to wear when your amongst bosses and coworkers.

In order to maintain a sense of professionalism, we vote for keeping it conservative on this one. We love the looser silhouette of this cute burgundy frock, and the sleeves make it more seasonably appropriate. The color is festive without being too loud, and we jazzed it up with baubles, statement heels, and a sparkly clutch in a classic shape.

SHOP THE LOOK:
burgundy shift dress $38
clutch $28 (similar here)
statement necklace $21
rings $16
lace-up heels $36

3. The Occasion: Home for the Holidays

THE OUTFIT: Does anyone else love the idea of never getting out of PJs when they’re home for the holidays? So do we. But let’s say it’s a more formal gathering. Or… someone else’s home you’ve been invited to where slippers wouldn’t be the most appropriate footwear in which to arrive. What do you wear then? You’ll be lounging, playing with kids on the floor, eating half a dozen cookies or more… you want to be comfortable but chic.

Enter this white Sweater Dress. It’s warm, seasonal, cozy, and oh so cute. Pair it with tights and leather or suede booties or pumps. And keep the jewelry to your hands and earrings–no need for a necklace with this statement cowlneck!

SHOP THE LOOK:
sweater dress $65 (similar here)
ankle booties $36
hat $42
stacking rings set $12
extra: colorblock coat $154

  • Where is the love for plus size girls? None of these options are available over a size 10. We like dressing up for the holidays as well!

Oh my gosh- I’m definitely working “Son of a Nutcracker” into my vocabulary bank! Haha- great writing!

  • Love the “home for the holidays” look. There’s something amazing about a cream sweater dress paired with gold accessories.

My hubby and I are headed to Charleston, SC for the holiday. I’ll probably wear tunics with statement earrings. Sequins are in style. Perhaps, adding a dash of sparkle to your holiday attire would be fitting!
