I’ve never been a huge workout person—I would always go through little phases of loving to get a workout in, and then get out of the habit and go through long periods of not working out again. When I do work out, however, I love to go to fitness classes like yoga, pilates, and dance. But, since the beginning of social distancing, I obviously haven’t been able to go to classes at all.
At the beginning of this self-isolation I felt very unmotivated to work out at home. Then the shame my Apple Watch was giving me about not “moving enough” started to get to me, and I decided I would try to do something to move my body each day. I figured that there is no better time than now to get back into the habit of working out (and to get to do it from the comfort of my own home!). I even signed up for Obé Fitness to participate in The Eveygirl’s 12-Day Challenge!
Plus, this gave me the excuse to buy some cute workout clothes and a few pieces of equipment, and I certainly online shopped ’til I dropped. I recently bought or already owned many of the items on this list, and I can highly recommend all the items I’ve included.
I scoured the internet for the cutest workout clothes and all of the in-stock workout gear that I could find—check out these items that you’ll want to order right now:
I’ll admit it: I might have a problem, and that’s my newfound love of buying activewear sets. They are my favorite thing to work out in, because you get to feel cute and put-together while working out and also not be constricted by so many layers. And if you, like me, aren’t comfortable enough to work out in only a sports bra at the gym, you can certainly be comfortable enough to do it in your own home!
Is there such a thing as too many leggings and other comfy pants? I don’t think so. And while you may not be wearing pants at all during this time, these pairs are great for when you absolutely must. For some reason, leggings and joggers can be very expensive, so these are all awesome alternatives that won’t break the bank.
If you don't have a pair of biker shorts yet, I highly recommend you add them to your wardrobe. These are made of the same super-soft material as the Real Me leggings, and are a great alternate if you wanna switch it up from leggings but don't want to wear running shorts. 4 colors available.
I bought these last week and have put them on an alarming amount since then. They are also reviewed to be similar to Align joggers, and they might be the most comfortable pants I have ever worn. BRB, I need to go order another pair. 3 colors available.
As mentioned above, I’ve really been loving wearing a longline sports bra to work out, as opposed to a sports bra plus a top or tank—but sometimes you just need a top to throw on, so I’ve included a few of those as well.
Because of the closure of gyms and the switch to at-home workouts, it has been hard to find workout equipment online that is in stock and available to ship in the near future. I truly scoured the depths of Amazon and Target in search of some items that you can buy, so get them while you still can!
