Not to be dramatic, but I can’t explain how chic I felt after putting the 2025 Rollneck on. In the middle of the J.Crew dressing room, I somehow transformed into Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy herself. I love the oversized fit of this sweater, though I’m wearing an XS in the photo, and I would be curious to try on an XXS to compare the sizing. It’s literally the perfect, effortless sweater to throw on all fall and winter.

Personally, as someone whose entire wardrobe was based on Emma Chamberlain in 2018, her being the face of the launch had me immediately on board. I will say that I would recommend sizing down with this one! I didn’t dislike how the XS fit, but it doesn’t give the cropped look the models on the website have. This sweater might not have the lasting timelessness of the 2025 Rollneck, but I still think it’s such a fun addition to any fall or winter wardrobe.

What’s better than one rollneck sweater? Obviously, two rollneck sweaters. And that’s exactly what you get with the Rollneck Reversible Cardigan. Wear it with the buttons at the front for a classic cardigan look, or turn it around for a tighter, sleeker rollneck look.

Now this one must be popular, because it was the hardest J.Crew rollneck to find in my size. There are a few different colorways, and while I don’t think I would opt for this green-and-black one personally, I did love the fit. I feel like I would have to take this one out on a test drive to see if anyone would question why the buttons are on the back of my sweater, but from the front, it looked great!

In 2025, J.Crew launched five unique rollneck sweaters made in collaboration with five American designers. Each one reimagined the rollneck with a touch of their signature style, and the internet immediately fell in love. Buci, Collina Strada, Tanner Collins, Eckhaus La Tia, and Patrick Taylor all designed their own unique creations with that classic rollneck energy.
I managed to get my hands on the Buci and Tanner Collins collabs, and while I wouldn’t say they’re capsule-wardrobe staples, I get compliments every time I leave the house in them. If you’re craving a sweater that makes a statement this fall, one of their designer collabs is for you.

If it isn’t clear by now, my deep dive into J.Crew rollneck sweaters only reaffirmed my obsession with the collection. I don’t think you need to have every single silhouette in your closet, and I would definitely recommend trying them on in-store for the perfect fit, but in my mind, the J.Crew rollneck is 2026’s little black dress—something every girl needs on hand in her closet.
