Social Media Assistant

Employment Status: Part-time, Temporary Position (up to 6 months)

Fully remote in California, Iowa, Illinois (outside of Chicago area), Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, Oregon, Texas, Wisconsin
Position Summary
The Social Media Assistant plays a multifaceted role, providing support to the social media team in diverse aspects of content creation and management. This position involves collaborating with brands to establish a cohesive brand presence across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and Pinterest. Additionally, the assistant aids in managing the social media content calendar and ensuring adherence to deadlines.
Must be available for up to 20 hours per week during The Everygirl Media Group’s core business hours, 9:30am-3:30pm CST.
Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day activities related to content creation and ideation for both brands.
- Adapt lifestyle content, career and finance advice, current events, and other site stories for social media audiences across platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, and emerging new platforms.
- Ensure strict publishing deadlines are met and content is scheduled appropriately.
- Stay up-to-date with social media trends, tools, and best practices, and recommend strategies.
- Monitor social media channels for mentions, trends, and relevant conversations, and respond or escalate as necessary.
- Schedule, publish, and distribute content on all social media channels as directed by the social media team, and assist in managing the social media content calendar.
- Support the social media team in generating innovative ideas for all social channels and expanding reach and engagement.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and other teams to align social media efforts with overall business goals and campaigns.
- Create visually appealing graphics using templates in Canva.
- Track and analyze key performance metrics, such as engagement, reach, and conversions, and provide regular reports to management.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, media, or related field, or equivalent demonstrated expertise through relevant work experience.
- 1-2+ years of social media management experience, preferably in a digital media company.
- Effective communication and strategizing skills for remote work environments.
- Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative mindset with the ability to think innovatively.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred
- 1-2+ years of experience in writing and editing
- Proficiency in Google Workspace and Slack.
- Proficiency in Asana or other similar project management platforms.
- Proficiency in WordPress or other similar content management platforms.
- Understanding of analytics tools to track content performance.
Compensation
Range: $21.00-$26.00 per hour; commensurate with experience and location.
