Esther is a Virginia-based book lover with a bachelor's in English literature and a master's in secondary education from the College of William and Mary. She works as the Director of Marketing at PangoBooks, seeking to make book ownership more sustainable, ethical, and affordable for readers nationwide. Outside of PangoBooks, she is a book content creator at @estherfungreads and has been featured in Vogue Singapore and Oprah Magazine.

Esther describes herself as a professional bookworm. After moving to the United States from Taiwan at the age of seven, she turned to books to improve her English—and hasn’t stopped reading since! She reads books from every genre (except horror, sorry!) and time period. On social media, she is known for her spot-on book recommendations, her thoughtful reading guides on simplifying classic literature, and her love of slow books and slow living.
Experience
Esther first started posting about books on Instagram in 2016. Today, she has over 110k followers, has been a speaker at the London Book Fair, and regularly works with publishers and authors to promote new book releases. After graduate school, she taught middle school English for three years before pivoting to marketing. She now oversees all marketing campaigns at PangoBooks, where she has worked since 2023.
Fun Stuff
On any given night, you can find Esther baking brownie cookies at home with her husband and her dog, working on her novel at a local cafe, or playing volleyball with friends. A true Taiwanese girlie, her go-to boba order is a black tea with bubbles, less sugar, and less ice, taken with a Lactaid pill.
