While the fashion circuit always has predictions on the upcoming season’s trends, it isn’t exactly possible to take a guaranteed peek into the future. But the Grammy’s red carpet solidified the status of one of 2025’s most-forecasted color trends. Say hello to the year’s favorite hue: light blue.

On Sunday, February 2, the 67th annual Grammy Awards saw a host of celebrities make light blue their own. Sabrina Carpenter made her debut as a first-time Grammy winner looking like a pop princess Cinderella in a feather-adorned, sky blue JW Anderson gown on the red carpet, and later changed into a bedazzled bodysuit in a similar shade to perform a medley of songs from her Short n’ Sweet album. “Apple” singer Charli xcx gave the color an edgier twist, opting for a ruffled Jean Paul Gaultier gown in a muted grey-blue on the red carpet. Best New Artist nominee Benson Boone even wore light blue for his performance of “Beautiful Things.”

From icy blue suiting at Stella McCartney to powder blue tweed at Chanel, variations of light blue were undeniably key players on spring 2025 runways. Deeper blues are also set to be especially prominent this year, with Tory Burch and Prada both showcasing rich, inky navy hues in their spring 2025 collections.

Light blue is also especially easy to style, as it pairs well with neutrals like gray and khaki and compliments brighter hues like yellow and apple red. Come springtime, swapping basics like your white button-down for a light blue one can add a subtle pop under your favorite trench or create a sleek, monochrome look with your go-to denim.
