In the long list of fashion aesthetics that have started trending over the past year, one has continued to reign supreme and proven that it’s here to stay. The edgy bikercore aesthetic has all but taken over our Instagram feeds and has a solid spot at the top of trend reports. To put it briefly: There’s never been a better time to break out your leather jacket.

What exactly is bikercore, and how do you style it? We’re glad you asked. We’re breaking down everything you need to know about this spring’s bikercore trend.

What is bikercore?

The bikercore aesthetic consists of moto jackets, fringe, vintage band tees, studded boots, Y2K-inspired handbags, and embellished denim. The nature of the trend is most definitely dominated by leather, but ties in other fabrics and materials as well, like a hefty dose of denim-on-denim.

The edgy aesthetic transforms seamlessly from season to season (as we previously saw it trending in fall and are seeing it again for spring), and designers all over the world have showcased their take on biker fashion. Masha Popova showed an array of all-denim looks on the SS23 runway, while Burberry and Versace stayed tried and true to the trend with striking leather pieces.

How to nail it

The motocross trend has no rules, making it an easy aesthetic to get on board with. If you err on the side of caution when it comes to style, keep it simple with a full denim outfit paired with silver jewelry. If you want to step outside the box, style an oversized moto jacket with an embellished mini skirt and thigh-high leather boots. Romantic items like lace tights or frilly black blouses are the perfect way to achieve a bikercore-inspired look with a feminine and romantic twist.

Ready to go full speed? These pieces will help you achieve the bikercore looks of your dreams this season.
