About the position

Are you a creative, internet-savvy individual with a love of food, travel, and all things home? Do you have an eye for decorating and a pulse on the latest trends? Are you able to turn around a well-written, witty, and engaging piece of content under tight deadlines? We’re looking for an eager, knowledgeable intern with an interest in lifestyle topics who can help create content for our audiences at The Everygirl Media Group.

What would you do in this role?

This position will work primarily with our Living Editor to create content across lifestyle categories such as Decor & Styling, Food & Drink, Travel, Entertaining, and more. You’ll work directly with our Lifestyle Editor throughout the entire content creation process. Responsibilities will include writing and updating stories, sourcing shopping, building and formatting content within WordPress, and working with images and graphics. You will also have the opportunity to pitch and contribute your own story ideas.

This is a paid internship ideal for someone looking to gain experience in media and journalism.

Qualifications

  • Strong writing skills
  • Knowledge of Google Docs and Google Sheets
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Details

This is a part-time, remote or in-person if local to the Chicago area with a flexible schedule. The internship will begin on January 8, 2024 and culminate on June 28, 2024. Note: being a student is not a requirement for this role.

About the position

Are you excited about all things social media and interested in learning skills to make it your career? Are you a creative, internet-savvy individual with your pulse on everything trending?

We’re looking for a motivated, knowledgeable intern to join our social media team.

What would you do in this role?

As an intern, you’ll work closely with our Senior Social Media Editor and assist our social media team with running The Everygirl’s and The Everymom’s social media platforms. You’ll brainstorm, pitch, and create new and engaging content with the goal to increase brand awareness, drive conversions to respective sites, and manage The Everygirl Media Group’s brand image. You’ll learn how to further develop your social media skills in a professional work environment and how we operate as a media company. This internship is ideal for someone looking to gain experience in social media.

Responsibilities

  • Create entertaining graphics for in-feed Instagram posts, Instagram stories, and Pinterest
  • Monitor and post to platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and Twitter
  • Analyze post performance and analytics to gauge success
  • Research topics and trends to cover as well as creators to partner with
  • Participate in brainstorms and content ideation to develop social-first content that aims to increase brand awareness and generate engagement
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest TikTok and video content trends, and brainstorm ideas on how we can show up with these trends
  • Source third-party content to repost across platforms
  • Assist with creating engaging video content for Reels or TikTok

Qualifications

  • Must have a passion for social media marketing
  • Understanding of The Everygirl Media Group brand voice and audience
  • Strong creative and analytical skills
  • Basic knowledge of creating graphics in Canva
  • Proficient with Google Docs and Google Sheets
  • Have excellent multi-tasking, time management, and communication skills
  • Be able to work independently and have problem-solving skills
  • Be willing and able to collaborate with our team on content ideas
  • Experience with video content creation and editing

Requirements

  • Must have your own computer and reliable Wi-Fi
  • Must be available two days per week 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. (CST); preferably Monday, Wednesday, or Thursday.

Preferred

  • Marketing, Journalism, or Communications major or similar degree field
  • Excellent social media knowledge, particularly with Pinterest and TikTok
  • Prior social media experience managing/assisting with social for a brand or business
  • Ability to project prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of analytical tools, social media trends, and pop culture
  • Experience with Later or similar content scheduling system
  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate brand voice through copywriting
