As a fashion editor, I own an absolutely massive amount of clothes. It’s a part of the job, but also just my weakness (as it should be, right?). Given that I’m quite literally looking at clothes online all day long, it’s often hard to resist adding things to my virtual cart. But I know a good deal when I see one, which is why I’m using this Black Friday as an excuse to grab some of the things I’ve had my eye on for ages.
I always have a mental list of pieces I want to add to my wardrobe next, and lo and behold, many of them are on sale for Black Friday (and I’m talking majorly on sale). I’ve rounded up the top 10 things I’m eyeing this week, and am patting myself on the back for waiting for a sale to pop up before I pull the trigger. It’s feeling a lot like Christmas came early this year.
As a Chicagoan, I never deprive myself of a coat—especially one I know I'll love putting on (after all, they aren't all created equal). I have this coat in the faux-leather version, which I wear constantly, so I'm picking up this gorgeous emerald, satin version that I've had my eye on since it was released.
I've been looking to invest in a good quality, wool blazer for quite some time, and I saw this in stores a few months ago and haven't stopped thinking about it since. It's truly beautiful, and at 50% off, now is the time for me to pick it up.
In the same vein as not minding stocking up on winter-only clothes, I also like to make sure I have some fun options in my closet—and that includes my knitwear. I can think of at least 10 different ways I'd be excited to style this cardigan, and at 25% off, is the cheapest I'll get it.
I have never owned anything from Jenni Kayne, but my coworkers (and seemingly everyone else on earth) swear by her sweaters. I only buy knitwear I know will last me, so am taking Black Friday as an opportunity to grab the famous Cashmere Cocoon Cardigan at a rare massive discount.
I've been on the hunt for the perfect pair of silver pants for a while, and when I saw J.Crew's new fabulous Head of Design wearing these on Instagram, I knew these were it. They're going to be amazing for the holiday season, but beyond that, are going to be a fast wardrobe staple for me.
The limit to the quantity of these jeans I can own simply doesn't exist. They are, to put it lightly, my favorite jeans I own—and I have several that are over double the price. Every time they're on sale, I like to pick up another wash to add to my collection. I'm currently eyeing the two-toned leather version (*swoon*).

I have a pair of these amazing trousers that I wear constantly, so it's time to pick up another pair. I honestly love all the colors, but am leaning toward the taupe or grey as a pant I can easily substitute and wear instead of jeans when I go to work.
This bag is definitely a splurge, but is something that I constantly wish I had in my wardrobe. Be it my birthday or the holidays or just a day I want to feel a little extra, I always wish I had a bag that feels festive, and this one is by far my favorite I've seen. The best part? I've never seen it so discounted.
Given that I live in about six months of winter, I like having fun, cold weather pieces in my wardrobe that make the winter a little more bearable. I have several Staud pieces that I love to death, and know I'll wear these fun shearling boots constantly.
Full disclosure: I own these sunglasses in the green color, but they are by far my most-worn sunglasses (they're too good!). I've never seen a sale at Vehla, but they're currently "buy one get one free," so I'm going in with a friend and getting this orange pair I've had my eyes on for ages.
