In real life, you wouldn’t catch me anywhere near a workplace romance. I know they can sometimes work out (and I know people who’ve met ‘The One’ at the desk over), but I personally couldn’t handle the stress. Between hiding the relationship during the early phases, eventually having to come clean to HR, and the devastating reality of having to face them every day if we call it quits, I’d rather keep my office crush firmly in the crush category.

But that doesn’t mean there isn’t a certain appeal to workplace romance books. From the initial meeting to catching their eye from across the room and flirting in secret, I really do get it. If, like me, you love the allure of an office romance but not the realities of one, we can live out those fantasies in romance books. Curious? I’ve rounded up 12 workplace romance books for you to live vicariously through.
