There’s no getting around it: It wasn’t Taylor Swift’s year at the Grammys. Despite being nominated for six awards, she didn’t take home a single golden gramophone. But anyone watching could tell that winning—or rather, not winning—didn’t really matter. Taylor spent the entire event cheering on her fellow artists, presenting Country Album of the Year to Beyoncé, and goofily dancing to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” along with the rest of the attendees. And when Beyoncé finally won Album of the Year, Taylor was among the first celebs standing and raising a glass in congratulations.

But even before all that, Taylor turned heads and started the night off strong with her arrival. Taylor donned head-to-toe red courtesy of a custom Vivienne Westwood dress with a silhouette calling back to the white gown she wore to last year’s event and, to top off the ensemble, a ruby chain with a letter “T” charm dangling from her thigh. To tie the whole look together, Taylor’s nail artist selected two OPI shades to create the perfect red mani that mimicked the sparkle of her dress and custom Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
Celebrity nail artist Lisa Peña Wong has been doing Taylor’s nails for major events for years; she was also responsible for the silvery-white manicure Taylor sported at last year’s Grammys to announce The Tortured Poets Department. For this year’s show, Wong combined two shades from OPI’s ‘Wicked’ collection: a layer of the deep, shimmery purple shade “Let’s Rejoicify,” followed by the red “Nessa-ist Rose” shade.
For added sparkle, Wong applied a thin line of red crystals down the center of one of the nails. When recreating this look at home, or to save money on nail art at the salon, you can easily skip this step and still achieve the perfect shimmery red look to match Taylor’s.
