"The older I get, the more energy it requires to peel myself off the couch on a Friday night. By the time I get going, I’m left with approximately 30 minutes to freshen up and pick out that elusive, sexy-but-still-mysterious outfit combo that now defines every millennial’s night out—which, these days, qualifies as having two drinks at dinner and in bed by 11 pm.
Reaching the above-30 age bracket, “jeans and a cute top” doesn’t seem to cut it like it once did. My crop top and skinny jeans don’t exactly scream, “See you in the boardroom on Monday.” But if I’m serious about switching things up, I’m going to need a handful of versatile tops that that can hopefully do most of the work for me. In my online quest to secure the best ones, I came across Abercrombie’s new “going out tops” collection which is so eerily close to perfect that it’s like they heard me.
With my new pick of chic, mostly under-$50 going-out tops, I have a feeling that, for once, saying yes to next week’s girls’ night won’t take all that much convincing. Careful, though: These are so dangerously good, I don’t foresee them staying in stock for too long.
