Spring is in full swing and there’s no better time to freshen up your look. While there were multiple makeup and nail trends all over the runways, a few stood out from the pack…not only for being completely gorgeous, but also for being totally wearable. Switch up your basic beauty look with any of these five perfectly pretty trends.
1. Blue Liner

If the thought of blue eye makeup conjures images of the ‘80s, here’s the perfect antidote. The latest take on the cool color is clean, fresh, and entirely modern. Rethink the classic cat eye and use a cerulean hue to create a crisp winged line, or, try our favorite, a hit of blue on the bottom. Swipe a sky blue shade along the bottom lashline only (keep the rest of your eye bare with just a light a coat of mascara), for a look that makes a statement, yet is still subtle enough for everyday.
2. Gilded Lids

Go for the gold…shadow, that is. The rich color is all over the place this spring, both as subtle shimmer of full-on glitter. The former is perfect for day-to-day; save bigger and bolder metallic options for a special night out. And with a variety of golds to choose from, there’s a flattering option for every skin tone. Fair skin looks great in classic gold, while medium and olive complexions look best in a more burnished shade. Deep golds with flecks of bronze perfectly complement darker skin tones. When picking between powder and cream, keep in mind that powders usually deliver a more sheer wash of pigment, while creams tend to be more intense.
3. Opaque Beige Nails

If you’re minimalistic when it comes to manicures, you’ll love the latest take on a nude nail—opaque beige. Just as clean and classic as the standard sheer pink, the full coverage makes the simple shade a little more interesting. Plus, beige is surprisingly flattering on all skin tones and elongates the look of your nails and fingers. The color works equally well on all nail lengths and shapes, but we especially like it on an almond-shaped nail.
4. Rose Gold Cheeks

Swap your basic blush for this fun new hue. The rich color adds warmth to any complexion, and is the easiest way to up the radiance factor without having to spend time layering on highlighters or luminizers. For this shimmery finish, a cream blush, which can be buffed into skin to create a seamless, lit-from-within-glow, is ideal. Work it into skin using a slightly dampened sponge (this ensures it doesn’t instantly absorb all of the product), or even your fingertips.
5. Just-Bitten Lips

Here’s some good news for anyone who isn’t feeling a bold red lip: Fresh, naturally flushed colors are just as popular this season. Think of these as a slightly enhanced version of your lip color. Not only are these ideal for that “no makeup makeup” look, it’s also incredibly easy to find a flattering color; simply pick one that’s one shade deeper or more saturated then the natural tone of your lips. To keep the effect easy and effortless, choose lipstick formulas that have a slight sheen to them. Matte finishes can appear dry and flat, while overly glossy textures don’t look as natural.
