Unfortunately, I am no stranger to brutal PMS symptoms. As someone who has struggled with hormone-related issues for years, I’ve come to quite literally dread the days leading up to my period. For me, PMS symptoms like fatigue, difficulty regulating my mood, sore breasts, and occasional bloating are actually worse than my period itself. It’s exhausting, both physically and emotionally, to feel like my body is working against me for nearly half of every month—and I know I’m not alone on that one. This has been my reality since I first got my period at 13 years old, and it wasn’t until this past year that I finally decided to do something to alleviate it.
In my search for relief, girls… I’ve tried it all—dietary changes, workout routines, period-syncing, and even tracking every single symptom to see if I could pinpoint what might help. So when the Slack channels were popping off about Happy Mammoth’s EstroControl supplement, a nature-inspired approach to hormone health, I was obviously intrigued. With the rising popularity of plant-based supplements within the wellness girly community claiming to support hormone function, I decided to give it a shot and consult an expert to better understand how it works. Here’s the lowdown on its claims, benefits, and my own Happy Mammoth review:

What Is Happy Mammoth?
Happy Mammoth specializes in hormone health and creates herbal supplements designed to support the body’s natural healing processes. According to Sarah Kimber, R.H.N. (registered holistic nutritionist), it’s estimated that up to 80 percent of women struggle with their hormones, and although it is more prevalent during transitional phases like puberty and menopause, it can happen at any point in a woman’s life. Many people struggle with hormone issues without even realizing their symptoms are connected, so it’s important to be in tune with your general well-being and lean on supplements like the ones Happy Mammoth creates to help keep your physical and mental wellness in check. Their focus is on providing women with targeted solutions for common hormonal challenges by combining plant-based ingredients and the latest in nutritional science.
Happy Mammoth supplements are meant to support hormone health along with other lifestyle changes and habits (which I love because I will always be skeptical of anything that claims to “fix” you overnight with no additional efforts on your end). Kimber explains that “combined with lifestyle changes such as a balanced diet, regular exercise, stress management, and quality sleep, Happy Mammoth supplements can help optimize hormone function and enhance the body’s natural healing processes.” In short, Happy Mammoth supplements provide that extra level of support and balance on top of the base you create through your own lifestyle choices.
What Are the Key Ingredients in Happy Mammoth Products?
You might be wondering—what is that “extra level of support and balance” I’m talking about? Well, Happy Mammoth products are created with a carefully selected blend of plant-based ingredients, each specifically chosen to support optimal hormone levels. Here are some of the key components they use (ones we probably don’t encounter in our everyday lives and therefore lean on supplements to provide) and what they do:
- DIM (Diindolylmethane): Think of this as the superhero hiding in your broccoli and kale. DIM helps keep your estrogen levels in check, so your hormones can chill out.
- NAC (N-Acetyl Cysteine): This is like your body’s natural cleanup crew. NAC’s antioxidants help flush out extra hormones, so your system can feel more balanced.
- Selenium: Picture this mineral as your liver’s personal assistant—it helps with detoxing excess estrogen and keeps things running smoothly.
- ALA (Alpha Lipoic Acid): A multitasking powerhouse! ALA gives you an energy boost while helping your hormones stay balanced.
- Choline: This little MVP makes sure your liver works its magic and helps your body break down fats, which is super important for happy hormones.
Upon perusing through all of the supplements and the different ingredients that Happy Mammoth has to offer, I landed on EstroControl being the one for me as someone with severe PMS-ing and a diagnosed uterine condition in which estrogen levels play a key role. Kimber explained that “EstroControl helps support healthy estrogen levels by optimizing liver function and detoxification. When your body produces too much estrogen, or if your estrogen levels are too high in relation to progesterone, this can lead to a variety of unwanted symptoms, like occasional bloating, mild mood swings, and fatigue, ” which is the gist of the symptoms I experience. But of course, do your research regarding which product would work best for you and your needs!
EstroControl™ is designed to help balance hormones and ease PMS or perimenopause symptoms. Packed with plant-based goodness, it helps with everything from skin issues to mood swings. Plus, it’s gluten- and dairy-free.
My Experience with Happy Mammoth
I decided it’d be best to start taking EstroControl right after finishing a menstrual cycle to give myself a two-week window for the supplements to kick in before my PMS symptoms returned. Following Kimber’s advice, I started with one capsule per day during the first week and then gradually increased to three capsules by the second week to not overwhelm my body and pave the way for the most accurate results. And the results in question? Oh, I noticed them. When my PMS phase rolled around, my usual fatigue and general mood dips felt significantly less intense.
While I still experienced some symptoms (which I expected, as mine are very intense), they were much more manageable, especially because I paired them with healthy lifestyle choices like maintaining a balanced diet, staying active, and prioritizing sleep. This combination made me feel like I had regained a bit of control over my body and that my entire presence in the world as a person wasn’t being dictated by my PMS symptoms. Usually, I find myself canceling plans, having trouble concentrating, having no motivation to exercise, and more. But this time around, I was able to combat all of those moments, which was huge.
What Do Experts Say About Happy Mammoth?
While my experience with EstroControl was a “Woah, I can’t believe this actually worked” moment, I am always wary of a placebo-affected situation. So, I wanted to get down to the nitty-gritty with Kimber about why Happy Mammoth is genuinely effective.
When I asked her about how estrogen levels were coming into play and exactly how Happy Mammoth could help combat them, she stated, “Estrogen is not inherently bad… It’s when you have too much of it that it can cause issues. Estrogen plays a key role in regulating reproductive functions, mood, bone density, cardiovascular health, and cognitive function. When estrogen levels are in the right proportion to other hormones, particularly progesterone, it helps maintain regular menstrual cycles, emotional well-being, and proper metabolism.” So with EstroControl supporting healthy estrogen levels by optimizing liver function and detoxification, I knew it was not in my head that I was noticing these improvements. Regardless of what Happy Mammoth supplement you personally land on, Kimber advises that consistency is key: “True healing is a journey that requires time, patience, and consistency. The path is not always linear, but the results are worth it!”
So, Are Happy Mammoth Products Worth It?
When it comes to value for money, Happy Mammoth products sit at a higher price point than some other hormone health supplements, but I think the combination of their meticulously formulated ingredients, focus on quality, and the effectiveness I experienced can definitely justify the cost. Happy Mammoth might be a good fit if you’re like me and are experiencing PMS symptoms, occasional bloating, or fatigue and are looking for a plant-based option to support hormone health. However, as with any supplement, it works best when paired with a healthy lifestyle and is tailored to your specific needs. As someone who has run into many dead ends on the quest to make my PMS more manageable, this was a major win in my book.
