One thing about me? I’m a podcast girl through and through. Ninety percent of the time, if I’m listening to something, it’s a podcast over music. Through my prolific listening, I’ve become quite the podcast connoisseur. My library of weekly listens is a sacred space, and it takes a lot for a new show to worm its way in. However, there’s been a recent addition I can’t stop listening to: Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce.
100 hours of hydration, plump skin, and a finish so soft it feels like July. Consider this your winter skincare soulmate.
In the spirit of not lying, I’ll admit: Without the podcast’s viral success, I might not have tuned in. I only care about football when Texas or Mizzou are playing, I don’t have kids (or plan to anytime soon), and I don’t even keep up with Travis and Taylor’s relationship (sorry, Swifties). To be honest, I didn’t think I was Kylie’s target audience. But once I saw clips popping up on my TikTok and Instagram feeds, I knew I needed to give it a shot. Here’s why Not Gonna Lie has become one of my favorite listens:
It’s incredibly candid
I know it literally says she’s not going to lie in the title, but with social media, you usually have to take these things with a grain of salt. Just look at when TikTok was banned for less than a day. Influencers raced to confess that they were lying about their shopping hauls and workouts despite curating audiences based on “authenticity.” So, I was a tad skeptical of just how honest Kylie would be going in, and she definitely delivered. If you’re looking for salacious gossip about Taylor or Travis, you won’t find it here—instead, Kylie shares unfiltered stories about motherhood, being an athlete, and navigating the public eye.
It’s refreshing to listen to a podcast that isn’t obsessed with positivity or self-improvement (though I still love those). Kylie doesn’t hold back, and if she’s annoyed or mad at something, she will let you know. Whether she’s breaking down her ins and outs for 2025 (spoiler: giving a fuck is out), ranting about the Elf on the Shelf, or calling out trolls in comment sections, she keeps it real. Even though I usually can’t relate to her specific comments, I still get a kick out of all her honest confessions because her delivery is so good.
The show features a wide range of guests
You might expect Kylie to stick to guests from the world of sports or parenthood, but that’s not the case. When I saw Drew Afualo, one of my favorite TikTokers and podcasters, on an episode, I knew Kylie’s guest list would be stellar. From influencers to athletes to actresses, her guests come from all corners of the internet. Even if you don’t know a guest beforehand, you’ll leave every episode as a fan. With only seven episodes out, Kylie has already cast a wide net, with each guest just as good as the last, and I can’t wait to see who else joins her.

It’s the perfect length
I love a two-hour-long podcast, but with all my other shows, sometimes it takes me a week to get through it. By the time I’m finished, I’m already behind on the next two new episodes. NGL is the perfect length, capping every episode right at 45 minutes. Kylie says she knows all her listeners are so busy and wants them to be able to get through an entire episode, so she keeps it short and sweet. For those who want more, she shares extra clips of cut conversations on the Not Gonna Lie YouTube channel. Not only is it nice to get to finish an episode, but it also speaks to how genuine the entire brand of Not Gonna Lie is. Kylie herself is a busy woman who knows she can’t listen to podcasts that are too long, so she’s going to give her audience the kind of podcast she’d want to listen to herself.
Kylie is genuinely hilarious
Like I said earlier, before listening to the pod, I wasn’t that familiar with Kylie, and I definitely didn’t realize how funny she is. Her humor is effortless, conversational, and perfect for a podcast. Nothing feels scripted or forced, and her dry, self-deprecating wit had me laughing out loud (a rare podcast reaction for me). Her authenticity shines, leading to some of the funniest moments, whether solo or with guests.
The show is all about supporting women
While the topics often center on sports, entertainment, and motherhood, the heart of the show is about empowering women. Kylie is such a strong advocate for women’s sports, honest portrayals of motherhood, and challenging the way social media treats women. These conversations vary from guest to guest, but in each one, you can see just how passionate she is about these topics. Kylie almost called the podcast “Fuck Around and Find Out” because she’s not afraid to call anyone out for their BS, whether that be user2467910 on TikTok or a national news organization. From addressing rude comments about parenting to calling out unfair societal standards, she will voice the private thoughts of women everywhere.

It’s topping charts in a notoriously male-dominated space
I don’t know when it became commonplace for seemingly every man on earth to have a podcast mic in hand, but the podcast world is kind of run by men these days. If you look at the charts at any given time, you’ll see the likes of Joe Rogan and Theo Vonn pretty much exclusively at the top. It’s been a long time coming for a female-led show to take its rightfully deserved spot at #1, and Not Gonna Lie has done just that. It’s no surprise the podcast is resonating with women, and seeing it get the flowers it deserves is just as inspiring as the episodes themselves.
It’s safe to say that Not Gonna Lie has earned a permanent spot in my podcast rotation, and I can’t wait to see what she does next. Hopefully, she continues to dominate the chart and introduce me to so many strong, inspiring women I wouldn’t have otherwise known. At the very least, I know she’ll keep me laughing along the way, no matter what she’s discussing.
