If you’ve ever fallen in love with a high-end home piece only to check the price tag and immediately close the tab, same. It’s like my heart says, “Yes, girl, splurge!” but my bank account says, “Please God, don’t.” Finding quality home gadgets, kitchen essentials, and decor on a budget is basically an extreme sport—part treasure hunt, part impulse control, and part convincing yourself that you totally can DIY that West Elm dupe (spoiler: I cannot).

As someone who’s practically made finding a deal a personality trait, I’m always on the lookout for ways to snag high-end home pieces without the high-end price tag. Enter REBEL (formerly Rebelstock), an online resale marketplace that sells overstock and open-box home products and baby gear from top brands at discounted prices. It’s like the universe heard my champagne-taste-on-a-seltzer-budget prayers. But is it actually worth going through with the purchase? I wanted to find out for myself, so I snagged some pieces from REBEL and am here to give the 411. Here are my thoughts:

First of all, what is REBEL, and how does it work?

Imagine if your favorite high-end home store and the thrill of scoring a major deal had a baby—that’s REBEL. It’s an online marketplace where you can snag overstock and open-box home products for way less than retail. But here’s the major plus: It’s also sustainable. Shopping REBEL means giving returned and surplus items a second shot at life, so you’re saving money and the planet. A win-win, if you will.

And before you ask, no, this isn’t one of those sketchy resale sites where you might end up with a ‘like-new’ couch that’s actually been used, like, a lot. All REBEL items are either open-box returns or overstock—never used and in perfect condition. They sell legit, high-quality items from brands you actually know and love (think KitchenAid, Our Place, Beautiful by Drew Barrymore, and more). Everything gets inspected before it’s listed, so you know exactly what you’re getting. Plus, the website is refreshingly easy to use—no endless scrolling marathons required.

My honest REBEL review: What I bought and how it went

As previously mentioned, I’m a deal hunter to my core. I rarely (if ever) pay full price for anything—clothes, shoes, home decor, you name it. So when I found out REBEL offers a ton of home products at a discount, I knew I had to give it a go.

I ordered two things: a Ninja Slushi Maker and a KitchenAid Mixer. The KitchenAid was one of those “one day I’ll treat myself” items that I hadn’t pulled the trigger on yet. But with REBEL’s discount? It was finally time. The Ninja Slushi Maker, on the other hand, was pure indulgence. The thing about me is, if there’s a frozen drink on the menu, I’m ordering it. Now, I’m bringing that magic home. Bonus points for the “no ice needed” feature, which means no more half-melted, sad-looking slushies.

My unboxing experience? Chef’s kiss. I received my order in less than a week and everything came in pristine condition—basically good as new—with sturdy packaging and zero issues. I’d 100 percent shop from REBEL again (and I already have a running wishlist… more on that in a sec).

What to know before shopping on REBEL

After scrolling (and scrolling… and scrolling), I’ve picked up a few tips for anyone shopping REBEL for the first time. Here’s what I noticed:

  • Inventory moves fast. If you love something, don’t overthink it—it might not be there tomorrow.
  • Check item condition descriptions. REBEL labels each item with handy icons like “open box” or “overstock”—super helpful for knowing what to expect.
  • Use search filters. If you’re hunting for a specific item or brand, the filters will help you narrow in on what you are looking for.

Is shopping through REBEL worth it?

If you’re someone who loves nice home decor but hates the high price tags (hello, same), REBEL is a game-changer. We’re talking deep discounts on top-tier gems just waiting to be claimed. And the best part? You’re not just saving big—you’re making a more sustainable choice by giving these products a second chance—making it a smarter choice for your wallet and the environment.
