The best part of summer is when my OOO status is set and my schedule is free to fill with my true purpose in this world: binge-reading books. From June through August, my number one priority is my Goodreads yearly reading goal, and I want every free second to be spent with my nose deep in a beach read (preferably by a body of water, but I’m not picky). More specifically, I want to read what BookTok calls “spicy” romance books. You know the ones. They have questionably cartoonish, cutesy covers, making it look like an innocent rom-com, but in reality, they are full of five-chili-pepper-emoji-level sex scenes. While the covers may confuse the occasional unsuspecting Barnes & Noble shopper, it’s nice for keeping your spicy summer romance book on the down low when out in public. If the second warm weather hits, you also want books that will bring even more heat; here are the best spicy summer romance books to pick up.
