At the start of spring every year, I somehow always find myself forgetting how to dress. What do you mean I don’t have to layer strategically anymore? Do I really have to put my cute fuzzy earmuffs away? I also tend to just jump into my spring wardrobe, regretting not grabbing my jacket on the way out or even relying on transitional spring outfits to help getting from one season to another go smoothly at all.

That being said, before you put away your coats and hang up your chunky sweaters one last time before the heat starts to swelter, give ’em another chance and make them truly seasonally versatile as we head into spring. Knowing just how unpredictable the weather could be at this time (I’m looking at you, late-spring snowstorms), it’s important—and we promise not impossible—to incorporate and mix your winter and fall pieces with your spring and summer pieces during these transitional seasons. Lucky for you, we’ve got some inspiration for you down below with six no-fail transitional spring outfits.

1. A cozy knit and ballet flats

There’s no denying that ballet flats are the shoe of the season right now, so before spring hits us in full effect, incorporate the look with your winter wardrobe while you still can. Paired with baggy jeans and a chunky sweater, the contrast of textures come together to make one amazing outfit.

2. A leather jacket and white tee

When it’s only a bit chilly outside and a puffer coat might make you overheat, opt for a leather jacket instead. It provides an optimal amount of warmth and looks super cute paired with trousers, jeans, or even sweats. Plus, we can’t think of something that screams “cool-girl” more than a badass leather jacket.

3. An eye-catching matching set

Nothing is bound to make you feel more comfortable and put-together at than a cozy matching set. There’s something so *chef’s kiss* about flare leggings or pants paired with a matching sweatshirt and sneakers, and a 60-degree spring day is the perfect time to break it out.

4. A structured jacket and jeans

This minimal looks screams “comfortable and chic.” A great structured jacket is versatile as a top layer that can be taken on and off throughout those days where it’s chilly in the morning, but warm during the day. Finish your look off with a pair of seasonless loafers that’ll keep your feet warm, but don’t feel as hefty as boots would.

5. A blazer and crew neck over a pair of leggings

An oversized blazer is never a bad idea. Combined with leggings, the look is oh-so-chic and ideal for a day where you need a little extra warmth, but don’t want a traditional jacket. Top your look off with a bold pair of dad-sneakers and you’re all set.

6. A fine-kit blouse and trousers

As much as we love a flowy blouse in the warmer months, they don’t always provide enough warmth for us when the weather is trying to figure out which season it is. A fine-knit sweater has an air of spring about it, while still maintaining the coverage you need for March and April weather. Combined with a wide-leg trouser, you’ve got yourself your favorite new office look for the next couple months.
