One of the major rules of small space living is to look for and invest in furniture pieces that can serve multiple purposes. MALM Dresser, IKEA

The MALM collection from IKEA is a small-space classic, especially the versatile MALM dresser. While it can, of course, store all your clothes, it also works surprisingly well in a living room or as a media stand — just add a few brass or lucite pulls to liven up the design.
