As a self-professed “teenage girl in her 20s,” there’s nothing I love more than seeing girlhood have its moment. With trends like bows and dinner parties taking over my social media feed and cultural phenomenons like the Barbie movie and The Eras Tour taking over the world, it brings me so much joy to see women coming together and finding community in any way we can. Trends rise and fall, and Taylor Swift needed to stop touring eventually, but one thing is clear: The power of women supporting other women will never fade.
A girl’s girl is someone who supports and uplifts the women around her. These women celebrate each other’s wins instead of getting jealous or putting each other down. They show up for each other in any season, but especially during hard times. Several of my closest female friends are girl’s girls, and I’m so grateful to have them in my life. We tell each other everything, hype up each other’s achievements, console each other when we’re struggling, and can count on each other when we need advice—even if it’s something we don’t want to hear.
Our zodiac signs can not only tell us a lot about our personalities, but also how we tend to act in our friendships and romantic relationships. Whether you consider yourself a girl’s girl or want to learn more about what it means to be one, read on to find out which zodiac signs are most likely to be loyal, supportive, feminist friends—and why.
Aries
Aries are incredibly loyal when it comes to their friendships, but they don’t like to sugarcoat or play games, either. That’s what makes Aries the perfect girl’s girl: They aren’t afraid to share the hard truths. When they tell you something you might not want to hear, they can still do it in a loving way. Relationships of any kind require healthy communication, and a girl’s girl wants their friendships to be as strong as possible while still being honest. Aries may occasionally have a sharp tongue, but they’ll never sugarcoat it for you, which is an amazing quality to have in a friend.
Gemini
It’s easy to get along with a Gemini because they make friends everywhere they go. They enjoy being around other people, and they celebrate and support all of their close friends—but especially the women in their lives. Plus, Geminis’ curiosity means they’ll be your biggest cheerleader. They love asking questions and are skilled listeners, and a supportive friend loves showing up for the women in their life however they can. A Gemini friend is the one who will immediately tell you, “Omg, you have to meet my friend so-and-so!” They’re total superconnectors, and we love them for that.
Virgo
Virgos are sure to be a great resource when you’re having a hard time. Problem-solving makes Virgos feel more productive, which means you can count on them when you’re looking for advice. Virgos are also really interested in self-growth, so helping you helps them learn more about themselves in turn. Girls’ girls have a deep appreciation for their relationships with other women because there’s so much you can learn from being around them. When you have a Virgo as a friend, you can bet that you’re going to get some amazing life advice whenever you’re going through it—along with a plate of homemade cookies, most likely.
Capricorn
Capricorns are known for their strong work ethic, but they’re also extremely intentional with their friendships. This Earth sign is emotionally dependable and very loyal, but they still expect you to value your friendship as much as they do. Capricorns will do anything they can to help their friends succeed, and they won’t let jealousy get in the way of celebrating women’s wins because they don’t really care about being the center of attention. A Capricorn friend will help you achieve your goals and cheer you on while you do it—the definition of a girl’s girl.
