If there’s one thing about the holidays, it’s that someone’s gotta hook up with their ex. Hometown romances are the subject of basically every cheesy holiday movie, the inspiration for ‘Tis the damn season by Taylor Swift, and the topic that lights up your group chat with your high school besties every year. Whether you rekindle with an old flame or spot a new hottie at the coffee shop that’s just a few blocks from your parents’ house, there’s just something about this time of year that makes all of us want to find love in our hometowns and move home to live a life of idyllic domestic bliss. That’s not how it always goes (thank goodness, honestly), but hometown romances have a certain nostalgic appeal.

Like any romantic trope, there are some people who are more likely to fit into it than others. Out of all the zodiac signs, there are just some signs that get more nostalgic than others. They might be less likely to let go of an old fling, or they’re just huge romantics at heart. Either way, there are some zodiac signs who are more likely to have a hometown romance than others. These are the culprits:

Taurus

Ah, Taurus. Your stubborn nature means that you are less likely than any other sign to be able to let go of old romances. If you’re headed home for the holidays, chances are that you’re at least going to see your ex. Plus, Taurus signs famously love stuff (in a cool way, not in an icky way), so if anyone on your list of potential hometown lovers ends up giving you a great gift, you might just swoon. If you do end up rekindling with an old flame, never fear. Your sweet nature will obviously win them over, but if you need to ghost until the next holiday season, you totally can. No one’s going to hold your backsliding holiday ways against you.

Cancer

Cancer signs are lover girls at heart, and they absolutely adore the holiday season. For those reasons, they are most likely to have a hometown holiday romance. If you’re a Cancer sign, I just know that you have a stockpile of nostalgic holiday romances that you rewatch yearly in hopes that someday, that’ll be you. If there’s one piece of advice I have for you, Cancer, it’s to never let your romantic side fade, even if other people give you a hard time for your hometown romance. The fact that you’re so nostalgic, loving, and caring is ultimately a major strength, so keep swooning to your heart’s content.

Virgo

virgo

I’ll be honest: I’m including Virgo in this list mostly because Rory Gilmore is a Virgo, and she’s the queen of the hometown romance. However, there are some real reasons why Virgos are more likely to fall for someone where they grew up. For one, Virgos are an extremely practical sign, so they understand that a hometown romance sometimes just makes the most sense—I mean, if your future children are gonna be closer to grandma and grandpa, that’s a major plus, right? Virgos are also perfectionists, and they want to get the holiday season vibes just right. Having a fun little fling will certainly make the season more merry and bright!

Pisces

pisces

The thing about Pisces signs is that, like any water sign, they’re gooey romantics at heart. However, Pisces signs are also adventurous and can be a bit moody, meaning they’re definitely the type to circle back to their hometown honey once a year during the holidays. As one of the most intuitive signs, Pisces, you know when a romance is too much of a good thing to abandon, and you can always tell when your ex wants you back. However, Pisces signs are also the type to have a hometown meet-cute—knowing your creative nature, you’re probably reading or writing in a coffee shop, just waiting for your hometown lover to appear. Now that’s the stuff of holiday movies.
