It seems like all we hear about in the news or social media is AI this and AI that—the future is here, people. No matter what you think of artificial intelligence, people are using it to help prep for an interview, streamline workflow, plan a vacation, or even style OOTDs. But the latest viral use for artificial intelligence is using it as a tool for manifestation, and it’s said to be a game-changer.

Thousands of TikTokers are jumping on the trend, which enlists the help of the AI tool ChatGPT to not only help them get clear on what they want but also take the necessary steps to make it happen. Whether you’re a vision board girlie or meditation devotee, you’ve likely thought about what you want your dream life to look like or what you want to accomplish, whether it’s with your career, health goals, finances, or relationships. But knowing what you want is only part of it; figuring out the steps to actually make it happen is the hard part. That’s where ChatGPT comes in. Ahead, we’re breaking down the tech-forward manifestation hack and how to use it to your manifesting advantage, step by step.

How to Manifest Using ChatGPT

1. Identify specifically what you want to manifest

Start by writing a list of exactly what you’re trying to manifest. Be as clear and descriptive as possible (you can’t be wishy-washy), and use present-day tense when writing down what you want. For example, I live in and can comfortably afford a house in Los Feliz, California, that has a backyard with citrus trees, a saltwater pool, and tons of space to host gatherings for my friends and family (yes, I’m being vulnerable here and sharing my dreams with you).

Lean into the feeling of why you want what you want rather than just acquiring the house, money, love, etc. While crafting your list, ask yourself why you want each thing. Is it because it will make you look cool and be something you can show off on social media? Or is it because you want a space that feels inspiring and large enough to host your family and friends? The feeling is your true north.

2. Ask ChatGPT to create your future self story

After you’ve nailed down what you’re specifically after—a nice house, a fulfilling career, a well-rounded partner—instruct ChatGPT to do this: “Tell me the story of a day in my dream life as my future self who already has X, Y, and Z.” You can also copy and paste your entire list or journaling about what you want to manifest first to provide more details. Once ChatGPT has crafted your future self-story, it’s essential to read and envision it as if it’s already happened because any limiting beliefs you may have about your desires can invalidate it. When reading your ChatGPT-generated story with conviction, you can visualize your dream life and feel what it’s like to possess it.

3. Ask ChatGPT to give you actionable steps to make your dream a reality

Next, ask ChatGPT, “What can I do daily to bring my dreams to fruition?” When I did this, ChatGPT produced a step-by-step list of actions I can take today to get closer to living in my dream home. It recommended daily affirmations like, “My home is a sanctuary for myself, my family, and my friends—a place of love and connection,” and it helped me come up with a financial plan by calculating my fixed monthly expenses and tackling any unsecured debt first. It even “scolded” me on the importance of setting boundaries and minimizing non-essential spending as much as possible.

I’m embarrassingly literal; I need things spelled out for me. So, I asked ChatGPT to create a SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound) goals plan. Many professionals stand by this criterion to have a higher chance of achieving their goals. It takes the guesswork out of goal planning—often where many of us get stuck. When I asked ChatGPT to “create a SMART goals plan for me,” it broke down all the details of my dream life into six goals, including actionable steps to be completed within six to 18 months.

How it Works

Beyond just being an enjoyable, inspiring, and fascinating exercise, I believe this method really works. For one, it helps you experience your dream life rather than just wanting it, which is key for manifestation. When I read the dream life that ChatGPT illustrated for me, I could smell the fresh flowers in my house, I could feel the sun on my skin while sitting in the backyard, and I could taste the fresh orange juice that I made from my orange tree. This sensory experience elicited a visceral reaction, making me feel closer to it being a reality.

If you’re still skeptical, look toward scientific findings about the mind-body connection from experts like Dr. Joe Dispenza (a world-renowned epigenetics, quantum physics, and neuroscience researcher and best-selling author of books such as You Are the Placebo: Making Your Mind Matter and Becoming Supernatural). He says when you “feel your way into [your dream life],” you aren’t waiting for proof that it can happen (which is creating from lack); you create the feeling first, and eventually, your outside world can reflect your inside one.

Once ChatGPT has an idea of exactly what your dream life looks like, it can also give you very specific, concrete ideas and tips to actually help you work toward it, and you can get as specific as you can (i.e., ask for “daily things” or a five-year plan, or what limited beliefs may be holding you back). Even if not every suggestion resonates or works for you, having a fresh perspective of what you need to change in order to get where you want is always helpful.

Other Tips to Use ChatGPT for Manifestation

Beyond the day-in-a-dream-life process, TikTokers are sharing other ways they use ChatGPT to help them manifest. Content creator Jasmine Ellis recommended recording your ChatGPT story as a meditation and listening to it while envisioning your dream life. You can also ask the AI tool for books to read to help achieve your desired lifestyle; it recommended I read books like Atomic Habits (a practical guide on how to create good habits and get 1 percent better every day) and articles like “How to Build a Dream Life: The Step-By-Step Guide” (a piece that breaks down actionable steps for turning your dream life into a reality).

You can also ask ChatGPT to create a list of songs to match the story it created for you and turn them into a playlist you can listen to on walks or while getting ready. Lastly, ChatGPT can also generate a script to accompany EFT Tapping (a technique that combines traditional Chinese medicine with acupressure) to help release stressors that may be getting in the way of your dream life. The best part of using AI to manifest is that you can personalize it for what would work for you.

“ChatGPT itself isn’t going to manifest your dream life for you; you are.”

Is It Worth Trying?

I’m not new to manifesting. I manifested my dream apartment, job, car, and more through journaling, goal setting, and meditation before I found out how to use ChatGPT for manifestation. What I’ve found in every method I’ve tried is that the most important factor is to tap into the emotional feeling of what I wanted, so you’re feeling the joy, gratitude, or abundance rather than just visualizing what you wish you had. I found that ChatGPT was the most helpful in allowing me to tap into emotional feelings.

But to be clear, ChatGPT itself isn’t going to manifest your dream life for you; you are. AI provides tools to empower you to make the changes needed to create your dream life. Using ChatGPT to manifest makes the method less abstract to me, but—like anything else—it only works if you work at it. Being open and curious to trying something different is vital in manifesting; if you only stick with what you know and what’s comfortable, then you’ll continue creating a life from that space, which can hold you back.

I recommend writing down even the little things you want to manifest (i.e., a free cup of coffee, a parking space, a text from a love interest) so you can build trust in the process. After manifesting my dream apartment (down to the two-block radius, BTW), I now have proof that I can also manifest my dream house and so much more. ChatGPT just provides more tools for me to do that. So, is it worth trying ChatGPT to help you manifest? Yes. It doesn’t cost you anything, but it may cost you more not to.
