Replicating royal style usually involves a little inspiration, and a whole lot of creativity. For those of us who can’t afford custom Alexander McQueen or Emilia Wickstead, the royal family’s style is taken as something of a save to a Pinterest board: outfits to be recreated as close as we can muster with pieces we already own. That is, until this week, when Kate Middleton stepped out in a set from our favorite French brand, Sézane.
Plus, you can pick them up at your local CVS right now!
On October 11, the Princess of Wales visited Nottingham Trent University to speak with students and encourage them to prioritize their mental health. She arrived in a relaxed, ecru sweater and skirt co-ord from Sèzane, which was styled with pearl Simone Rocha earrings and Gianvito Rossi heels. Sèzane is known for everyday apparel made elevated with small details, and the philosophy was on display in the line of tortoiseshell buttons that started at the cuff of the sweater’s sleeves.
The coordinating duo’s fit was form-hugging, but not overly so, making for a quintessential fall look that us mere mortals can take notes on. And while the set looked immaculate paired together, the sweater and skirt could just as easily be split apart and worn separately: the sweater with jeans for a casual day; the skirt with a tank and leather jacket for a night out.
While the ecru shade is sold out, the set comes in six other in-stock colors that you can still get your hands on (I’m personally eyeing the emerald green). Thanksgiving outfit, anyone?
