Once the temperature outside regularly hits 100 degrees, my household’s oven and stove are off-limits. When you are basking in the relief of your air conditioning and avoiding the sweltering weather outside, the last thing you want is to generate more heat indoors. Even a single extra degree from these appliances is enough to make me want to quit cooking entirely. Plus, an oven and stove are not necessary to create an incredible meal. You can whip up a delicious summer dinner with zero cooking time at all. Another bonus: Spending less time in the kitchen means you get more time to tick things off your summer bucket list. If you’re ready to give up your oven and stove entirely (or maybe just on those scorching days), keep reading for 15 no-cook recipes that are perfect for summer.

An enormous amount of chips and salsa is one of my personal favorite girl dinners, and it’s even better when the salsa includes a fun twist like the mango in this recipe. My mouth is watering just looking at the photos of this Mexican street corn salad. The homemade elote provides just the right amount of kick, and the jalapeño and red onion add a fantastic brightness to the dish. To make this more filling, you can serve the salad over rice, in a tortilla, or alongside your favorite protein. To avoid cooking rice on the stove, use Trader Joe’s frozen rice bags (one of my favorite dinner hacks)—all they need is a quick three minutes in the microwave.

5. Caprese Salad
