I thank our fictional firecracker Leslie Knope for giving us a lot of things, but inventing Galentine’s Day might be her greatest gift ever. A day for “ladies celebrating ladies,” February 13th has become a whole cultural phenomenon. It’s the best excuse to get your girls together and celebrate female friendship—no boys allowed. And ladies, the time has almost come. The champagne is stocked, the rom-coms are queued, the tablecape has been Pinterested, and now comes the fun part: planning the evening’s activity. And what’s the best hands-on activity to embrace peak girlhood? Craft night, of course.

A Galentine’s Day craft night is the perfect excuse to get creative, deepen your bonds, and celebrate your friends’ creative genius as you lean over their masterpieces and go, “OMG, that’s so cute!” Which is why I scoured TikTok to find some fun, on-theme, and actually doable craft ideas for you and girls to try this year. Grab the pink paint, allllll the glitter, and something fun to sip on because these crafts are the cutest way to celebrate. Here are 12 creative craft ideas to try with your gals this Galentine’s Day:

To create your bookmark, you’ll need some plastic bookmark blanks, Mod Podge, patterned paper, and charms to personalize. You can also add stickers, doodles, pressed flowers, or written quotes—whatever makes flipping through your next read feel extra special!

2. Personalized punch cards

@emiliamariehome

Supporting your friends in reaching their goals, both big and small, is such a good way to show your love this Galentine’s Day💕 And what’s more motivating than a punch card? 🤩 . . . . #galentinesday #goals #goalsetting #girlsnight #craftideas #girlhood #diy #besties #relatable

♬ Suddenly I See – KT Tunstall

The start of a new year means goal-setting is top of mind, and this “punch card night” trend makes working toward your goals even more fun. This craft idea is inspired by those punch cards you might get at a coffee shop, where if you buy 9 coffees, your tenth one is free. But this time, it’s tailored to a certain goal you want to achieve this year. It could be a number of books you want to read, job applications to send, dates to go on, miles to run, recipes to make—you name it. Punch the card to track your progress along the way, then celebrate hitting your goal with a fun reward. To make your own, you’ll just need some cardstock, markers, watercolor paint, scissors, and an idea of your goals for the year.

♬ NOT CUTE ANYMORE (Sped up) – ILLIT

If your vibe for Galentine’s Day is comfy-cozy, personalized slippers would be such a cute craft idea. All you need are some plain slippers, a few fun patches from your local craft store, and an iron (or two, if your group is big). This crafty activity is super easy, won’t break the bank, and doesn’t make a huge mess. The best part is that you can actually use these cozy little creations long after the holiday is over. The perfect complement for rom-coms, warm beverages, and board games.

7. Painted taper candles

Painted taper candles are an ideal craft for any season or holiday, which is why they just happen to fit so nicely on this list. They’re ultra Anthropologie-coded, but painting them yourself is way more fun (and budget-friendly) than shopping them in-store. Grab a set of inexpensive taper candles, pour a glass of something bubbly, and start playing with bows, hearts, Xs and Os, or whatever feels right for your personality. You can use acrylic paint and brushes to add your designs, but paint pens are generally easier if you don’t have a super steady hand.

9. Painted trinket dishes

@shanncook_ing

Trinket tray painting with the girls 🎨 such a cute fun activity! Everything from @kmart australia #notspon

♬ Unwritten – Natasha Bedingfield

Customize your own trinket dishes for a cute way to store your jewelry or keys. This fun girls’ night craft only requires a handful of supplies: acrylic paint, Mod Podge, and a ceramic base of your choice. If painting isn’t your thing, keep it simple with polka dots or a mostly solid-colored design. For a more ambitious design, try your hand at painting flowers or a repeating pattern. Once the paint dries, top it off with a coat of Mod Podge to set your design in place.

As a super sentimental human, I love a craft that has a little meaning behind it. This memory box idea isn’t just cute—it’s a special way to store photos and mementos from important moments in your life. Start with a plain wooden box from a craft store, then customize it with a painted design to create your own personal time capsule. 11. Spackle heart frame

@kimberlyj_king

Drywall spackle heart valentines art 💗 your next girls night craft ✨ exact products I used is in my Amazon under “crafts” 🎨 Instructions Mix drywall compound with a small amount of water until you get a smooth, spreadable consistency (not runny). On a canvas, draw a bunch of overlapping hearts using the drywall compound. You can use a spackle tool or your finger to create raised texture. Let the drywall dry completely. To speed it up, microwave the canvas in 30-second intervals until dry (about 2 minutes total). Let it cool between intervals. Paint the entire canvas a light pink base color and allow it to dry. Once dry, paint inside each raised heart using different shades of pink. Let everything dry completely. Remove the matte from a white frame. Apply Mod Podge to the matte and adhere a gingham napkin to it, smoothing out wrinkles. Wrap the napkin around the back of the matte and secure with Mod Podge. Trim excess and carefully cut out the center opening. Assemble the frame by placing the gingham-covered matte on top of the pink heart drywall painting and secure it inside the frame. #galentines #valentines #girlsnight #easydiy #craft easy diy craft valentines artwork spackle dry wall textured art heart

♬ Ladyfingers – piano version – Harry Nicholson

This spackle craft idea is such a fun, low-pressure way to make Valentine’s Day decor without needing actual artistic talent. All you need is spackle, paint, a cool frame, and some Valentine-inspired paper. Painting is not one of my personal strengths, which is why I love this craft idea. It’s simple, forgiving, and looks way more put-together than anything else I could draw up.
