A few weeks ago, I was browsing the Old Navy website when I decided to take a look at the loungewear category of their site—and I was immediately blown away by how many cute, chic, and insanely comfortable-looking options there were. The rib-knits, soft bralettes, trending colors, and stylish silhouettes reminded me of high-end brands that are popping up all over my Instagram feed these days.
If you feel like you've missed the boat on ordering anything custom, allow us to introduce you to CVS Photo. With price points that are super affordable paired with their same-day pickup option, they’re a holiday procrastinator’s best friend.
Because we fell in love with Old Navy activewear back when we tried it in the summer, I recruited Beth to test out some loungewear pieces with me and share our thoughts with all of you. When we received our orders, we were instantly messaging each other about how much we loved everything and how impressed we were with the quality and look.
I already thought that this loungewear looked more expensive than it is just browsing online, but after trying it out for myself, I would say that this Old Navy collection can hang with the best of them—from Skims to Set Active to Lou & Grey.

I am a long-time lover and avid shopper of Old Navy. I have always loved the quality, the price point, and how they keep up with the trends but also have great basics. I have bought their loungewear here and there but never really taken a deep dive into all they have to offer, so I was super excited to try out these pieces.
As far as sizing, I typically wear a size 10 or 12, so one thing I have a little trouble with when it comes to Old Navy is deciding between a medium and a large. I ordered everything in a large (apart from the bralettes, which I ordered in an XL), but I do think I could’ve gotten away with a medium in most things. If you are in a similar predicament of being between sizes, I think it’s all about personal preference and how you like things to fit.
OK, I am completely obsessed with this set—it will definitely be my go-to WFH uniform for the rest of fall and winter. I love that there are both shorts and pants options, and both are equally comfortable. The wide-leg pants instantly make me feel chic and put together, and I can never have too many pairs of lounge shorts. I also think the cowl-neck on the top is a unique touch that adds a little extra something for Zoom meetings.
This color is absolute perfection and so on-trend right now (I mean honestly, if it comes in brown, I must have it). But the thing that I love the most about these pieces is how incredibly soft they are. The material is thick but not too heavy and soft on both the inside and outside.
Old Navy has tons of cute bralettes right now, so I knew we needed to test them out—but I had such a hard time deciding which ones to order because I truly liked so many. I am really happy I ended up with this one, though. I have a larger chest, so I find V-neck bralettes to be very comfortable. This one is made of a thick, spandex-like material that is super soft to the touch. It’s the perfect option for long days of working from home.
As I was browsing the Old Navy site, I noticed a new collection called Sunday Sleep—and obviously, I was intrigued right off the bat. I mean, how cozy does that sound? The collection consists of tons of cute tops and bottoms, all in this lightweight, super soft, ribbed material. The earthy-toned colors of the collection also stood out to me, especially this burnt orange (called Mesa Rock).
This material is obviously different from the first set I tried on, but it is also insanely soft both inside and out. It’s lightweight and thin but still feels very high-quality. I also need to point out that calling the top a sweatshirt (as it’s referred to on the website) is a stretch—it’s the same lightweight material as everything else. If you’re a hot sleeper, you might really like this set as pajamas because it feels naturally cooling.
Like the brown set above, this top and pants combo also made me feel instantly chic, and I find the wide-leg fit to be both comfortable and flattering. Although these are technically pajamas, I would definitely wear them for lounging or working from home as well.
I saw one of the models on the site wearing this color combination of burnt orange and oatmeal and thought it was so cute, so I wanted to try it out as well. When I tried on these biker shorts with the top from the previous look, I decided I probably wouldn’t actually wear them together, but only because the length of the top is a little unflattering with the shorts. Also, because this color is lighter and the material of these pieces is relatively thin, you would have to be mindful of what color underwear you choose to wear.
However, I really like these rib-knit biker shorts overall. I think that they’re the perfect biker short option for lounging or wearing all day, as a lot of other options are made from thick, athletic material that isn’t as comfortable. I would definitely wear these with an oversized T-shirt or sweatshirt for the perfect cool-girl lounge look.
The Supima cotton collection was another one I was super excited about the second I saw it on the Old Navy site. From what I can tell, it only includes bralettes and underwear (at least for now), so I picked out this bralette to test it out. Essentially, Supima cotton is a soft and lightweight cotton blend that’s made for comfort. And if there’s one thing I prioritize more than anything else when it comes to bras, it’s comfort.
I was impressed by this bralette, as it holds up to its claim of being soft, lightweight, and comfortable. It isn’t padded, so it’s not super supportive, but if you’re looking for something that offers light support for lounging, this is a perfect option.
I saw this set on a model on the Old Navy site and loved it so much that it was the first thing I added to my cart for this try-on. As you can probably tell by the items I picked out, I am a sucker for ribbed material. I especially love ribbed activewear because I think it adds a little something extra to an athleisure look.
Although this set is probably not something I would wear outside my apartment, it is so comfortable and feels very high-quality—plus, I am obsessed with this rich wine color. I love any long-line sports bra or bralette because I can wear them as tops or under T-shirts and sweatshirts.
I also tend to gravitate toward big, chunky cardigans, so obviously I had to try this one that is also a rib-knit. I got this in a medium and it is definitely oversized, so I would recommend sizing down if you are between sizes. This material is thick and feels luxurious, but I will say it’s not the softest knit I’ve ever felt—it’s not itchy, but some of these other materials are much softer.

I avoided spending money on loungewear like the plague over the last year. But as someone who now pretty much exclusively works from home (and is finally accepting—heck, even loving it some days), I’ve opened up my arms (and wallet) to loungewear. So I jumped at the opportunity to try more things from Old Navy, a mainstay in my wardrobe for years and a newfound love since they nixed the standard little plus-size section in their stores.
A few things to note: I find Old Navy to run really true to size. I’m usually in between a 12 and 14, so I ordered larges in all of the bottoms, a large in the tops, and extra-large in the bralettes to give me a bit of extra room for my ever-so-slightly above-average chest. Everything fit me really well, so if you’re ordering for yourself, I would say their size chart is pretty effective.
Jess actually convinced me to try these pants, and I will be eternally grateful. These are so outrageously soft, and I feel cute just walking around my apartment in them. They come in a few colors, and I’m already planning to pick up a few others the next time a sale rolls around. They are on the thin side, so if you’re always freezing (can’t relate), don’t expect these to be your favorite cold winter night bottoms. Although they’re thin, they’re not see-through, so we can all rejoice. These give me gaucho vibes, and I’m here for it.
As for this cami bralette, I am equally as obsessed. I know I will wear this nonstop. It’s really thin, but it has a built-in shelf bra that makes me feel OK wearing it without a bra (like I said, my chest is just above the average size, so if you’re any larger than a D cup, this probably won’t work as a bra top for you). This is about to become my favorite bralette—I can already feel it.
When Jess and I tried Old Navy’s activewear last summer, I fell in love with a lot of their fabrics and styles—especially the long-line sports bras. Every time I wear my Old Navy sports bra to the gym, a stranger compliments me and asks where it’s from, and they’re shocked when I say it was less than $30 at ON. So when we started this try-on, another activewear set went into my cart immediately.
I said it in the first try-on and I’ll say it again: Something about the fabric of Old Navy’s leggings does me no favors. They really emphasize the parts of my lower body that I don’t love and do nothing for the parts I do—but if you’re more confident than me, I can’t deny these are comfortable, and I love all of the colors.
Contrarily, I love every single thing about this top. It has a built-in bra, and I love that it’s long enough to be worn as a top. I truly refuse to work out in just a sports bra, but I don’t have time to pick out two pieces before I head to the gym in the mornings. The other top I have is cut on the sides, and it can sometimes be uncomfortable when I’m doing an intense workout because I have to pull at it to make sure I’m covered. This one has a cute neckline that makes me feel confident without making me worry that I’m about to pop out while I’m just innocently using the leg press.
Because I’m apparently a sadist, I chose to join a gym that is a 20-minute walk from my apartment. While it was lovely in the summer, the colder weather is already making my gym routine dwindle from six days a week to a mere two or three—and my sleep, anxiety levels, and fitness are suffering. I figured the way to combat it would be investing in some cute new workout clothes, ideally options that will keep me warm on my long walks to literally exercise even more.
This long top is so comfortable and actually quite warm. Obviously, it’s a sweat-wicking fabric, so I can wear it to keep warm on the walk but also throughout my workout in the gym. Plus, this gorgeous taupe shade goes well with practically every pair of leggings I own (but don’t worry—it comes in black too).
Our fashion editor included a really cute pair of navy corduroy joggers last fall in a few round-ups. They sold out practically immediately, and I’ve been chasing that high ever since. These are velvet, so they’re not exactly the same, but I loved the deep navy color, and they didn’t disappoint. They’re really soft and smooth against my skin, but because it’s velvet and a matching set, it actually looks quite nice for Zoom meetings or having people over. And I know I would wear the joggers the most—whether it’s with this matching top, with a bralette, or with a sweater to dress it up a bit.
