By the time the weekend rolls around, are the only plans that sound appealing to you staying in and watching a show? Yeah, me too. I used to get excited to dress up and stay out late, but I won’t lie to you: Those days are over. Instead, streaming what’s new is now my idea of a wild Saturday night. I’m even marking release dates in my calendar.
this is your sign to stock up
With all of the streaming services now, it can be hard to keep up with what to watch and where to watch it. But, this month, the lineups are so good that you will want to ensure you have a subscription to every platform—or at least your friends’ passwords. These shows and movies are about to be the sole topic of conversation in The Everygirl’s #watercooler Slack channel, and I’ll be damned if I miss out on that.
Cancel your plans and get comfortable because it’s time to hit “Play.” Without further ado, here are some of the most anticipated shows and movies that are new on streaming this month.
Netflix
Pulse (Season 1)
If you love hospital dramas (I’ve watched Grey’s Anatomy about 10 times over), then Pulse is the perfect show for you. This show follows the workers of a busy Miami hospital about to be hit by a hurricane, and is sure to be packed full of drama, adrenaline, and excitement.
Black Mirror (Season 7)
One of my personal favorite shows, Black Mirror, comes back with its long-awaited season 7 this month. The new set of sci-fi/horror stories are sure to keep us on the edge of our seats, get us thinking, and leave us mind-blown yet again.
Ransom Canyon (Season 1)
If you’re in the mood for a cowboy drama (with a side of romance), look no further. Set in the heart of the Texas countryside, this series will give you all the feels as you watch the townspeople of Ransom Canyon face their curiosity and passion for one another.
You (Season 5)
Sit down, grab your popcorn, and watch the conclusive chapter of the You series, where Joe Goldberg’s story comes to a close. I can’t say for sure what this season will hold, but if it’s anything like the first four, we’re definitely in for a wild ride.
Apple TV+
The Studio (Season 1)
I love shows about Hollywood, and I’m obsessed with Seth Rogen, so his new series, The Studio, is an immediate must-watch for me. Seth Rogen’s character is the new head of a movie studio, and he is desperate for celebrity approval. Alongside his team, he navigates the corporate and creative worlds to keep Continental Studios relevant and its movies thriving.
Your Friends & Neighbors (Season 1)
In this new drama series, a financial titan finds himself jobless and divorced. He resorts to stealing from his neighbors’ homes in his affluent neighborhood, only to discover that the secrets hidden behind the wealthy facades might be more dangerous.
Government Cheese (Season 1)
In this comedy drama, Hampton Chambers’ long-awaited family reunion doesn’t go quite as he’d planned when he is released from prison. During his absence, Hampton’s wife and sons have formed an unconventional family unit, and Hampton’s return spins their world into chaos.
Hulu
The Handmaid’s Tale (Season 6)
The final season of The Handmaid’s Tale is here! I’m so ready (and a little nervous) to see the series come to its conclusion. In this final stretch, June and the rebellion fight for their freedom, putting it all on the line to change the world of the Handmaids.
Max
Hacks (Season 4)
My favorite comedic duo, Deborah Vance and her writer, Ava Daniels, are finally back on my screen this month. Hacks is the ultimate feel-good, entertaining show, and I have been in a serious drought in between seasons. Thankfully, that comes to an end on April 10.
The Last of Us (Season 2)
Season two of the post-apocalyptic show premieres this month, and it’s really about to go down. We once again follow plague survivors Joel and Ellie as they fight to survive in their world of zombies and chaos, uncovering buried truths along the way.
Prime Video
G20
This action thriller follows a band of terrorists who take every leader attending the G20 summit in South Africa as hostages, including Viola Davis, who stars as the U.S. President Danielle Sutton. Luckily, President Sutton evades capture, but that means it’s up to her to outsmart the enemies and protect her family and friends.
Étoile (Season 1)
With attendance continuing to drop, the artistic staff of two world-renowned ballet companies decide to swap their most talented dancers in an effort to expand their audience. However, with the companies located in New York City and Paris, the task will prove to be more difficult than expected.
