I know it’s hard to believe, but there may come a day when you get bored of watching the same shows over and over again. Believe me, I’m the first to admit that I will comfortably throw on Friends or Schitt’s Creek again for the millionth time with a smile on my face and comfort in my heart. And you know what’s so great about comfort shows? They will always be there waiting for us to come back to them! Every now and then though, it can be exciting to branch out and watch something new. Comfort show viewer, it is my honor to introduce to you Apple TV+.

The platform is much newer than some of our other streaming services, having just launched at the end of 2019. While many of our comfort shows have found homes on Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, and so on, Apple TV+ has entered the chat with perhaps just what we needed: brand new creative, enthralling, and all around addicting content with some of our favorite faces in Hollywood.

Allow me to elaborate. Read on for the ultimate Apple TV+ Streaming Guide

What is Apple TV+?

Because the platform is relatively new, you may be less familiar with the show and film titles than those that you see on other streaming platforms. However, what sets Apple TV+ apart from everyone else is the big name casting they have obtained for their exclusive content that has come out within the last few years and continues to be produced. We’re talking Will Ferrell, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Tom Hanks, Paul Rudd, and so many more. These are the actors we’ve come to know and love for their previous works shown in a whole new light.

We’re calling it right now, Apple TV+ is on its way to becoming one of the most popular streaming platforms available, and one you’re going to want to get your hands on.

Who Should Have an Apple TV+ Subscription?

You may know by now that we love seeing our favorite books get turned into series and films. If you also love a book-to-series adaption, Apple TV+ is the place for you. They have gifted us an entire section of just that.

From what I’ve seen, Apple TV+’s bread and butter are dramas, so if intense scenes and thrilling encounters are your thing, this may just be the place for you. They also sprinkle in quite a few creative and feel-good comedies. Plus, if you’re intrigued by nature documentaries that will entirely shift your perspective of our planet, Apple TV+ delivers.

How Much Does Apple TV+ Cost?

If you’re on the fence about getting a membership you can start a 7-day free trial to see what it’s all about. We promise you’ll get hooked after day one but feel free to peruse at your leisure. After the 7 days, the subscription is only $6.99 per month!

Our Can’t-Miss Apple TV+ Exclusives

Ted Lasso

Ted Lasso is the feel good show we didn’t know we wanted, but Apple TV+ knew we needed. We know you’ll add it to your comfort show catalog right away. When an American football coach is recruited to coach a British soccer team, the team owner is hoping he fails in an attempt to get back at the previous owner. Little does she know, while Ted lacks knowledge of the game of soccer, he does posses character, charm, and humor that invokes inspiration and success in his team.

The Morning Show

With an all star cast including Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell we knew The Morning Show had to be good. Lead by Alex Levy (Aniston), the show follows a popular morning show production in NYC. When Levy’s longtime cohost (Carell) is accused of sexual misconduct, the show needs a new and completely different cohost. After seeing a compelling and passionate news story that originated from a small town by Bradley Jackson (Witherspoon), the producers knew they had to have her on their team. Watch as a small-town gal takes on life in the big city, the aftermath of the scandal, and the pressure of working with one of the country’s most well known hosts who doesn’t exactly approve of her joining the team.

See

After Jason Mamoa’s character’s untimely demise in Game of Thrones I’d been waiting for my favorite actor to take on a gritty role again. The streaming gods answered my prayers with See. Centuries after a virus wipes out most of humanity and leaves the survivors blind, humans have learned to adapt to life without sight and the idea of vision has become somewhat of a myth. Civilization as we know it has regressed back to hunter/gatherer tribes. When a pregnant woman seeks shelter and is accepted into the Alkenny tribe, she marries the tribal leader who then adopts her children. It becomes apparent that her children and their biological father are “sighted,” AKA able to see. When the Queen of the Payan kingdom hears of this, she enlists her troops to apprehend the man and his children. The chief of the Alkenny must keep his family and tribe safe at all costs.

Severance

This Apple TV+ Original takes work/life balance to a whole new extreme. In this psychological thriller, employees of the company Lumon Industries have had their memories surgically separated between work and their lives, having their personal memories wiped while clocked into work. When a set of employees set out to rebel against the practice, they uncover more conspiracies and secrets than they bargained for.

Bad Sisters

Each of the five Gravey sisters has a personal reason to hate their brother-in-law and want him out of the picture. After his death, a pair of life insurers investigate his death and aim their focus on the sisters. This dark comedy will capture your attention through an encapsulating story line, fantastic acting, and gorgeous settings between London and Dublin (we happen to love the accents, too).
