The Everygirl
Book Club

Welcome to our dream come true—The Everygirl Book Club. For years, we’ve been sharing our love of books through reviews, recommendations, and rankings, but we’ve always felt something was missing. As much as we love a solo night in with our Kindle, one of the best parts about reading is talking about your favorite books with fellow readers.

If you are looking for a community of readers just as obsessed as you are, The Everygirl Book Club is for you.

The Everygirl Book Club is a monthly book club with a reading pick (carefully vetted and chosen by yours truly), which we’ll all read together, chitchatting in our BFF Group while we binge, culminating in our monthly virtual book club discussion. Our picks span genres, so depending on the month, you may be diving into your favorite category or stepping slightly outside your comfort zone. What you can always trust is that every book is hand-selected by a team of readers who are just as obsessed with reading as you are.

More than anything, The Everygirl Book Club is a community by readers, for readers. It’s not just a sticker on the cover of a book—it’s a place to make real connections with like-minded women. But yes, we do have adorable stickers, too.

How to Join the Club

Ready to become part of the community? Joining is easy: just start reading! Each month, we announce a new book and you read on your own schedule. About a week before our virtual meeting, we share discussion questions to get your thoughts flowing.

Sign up for our Book Club mailing list to get everything you need delivered straight to your inbox, including our monthly book pick, discussion questions, and the meeting link.

Between meetings, you can also look forward to plenty of book recommendations and hilariously relatable bookish content (not to toot our own horn) on The Everygirl Book Club Instagram, and exclusive interviews, hot takes, and deep dives into the bookish community on The Everygirl Book Club podcast.

Want to chat with the club? Join our BFF Group, where you can find those casual, groupchat discussions you crave while reading. From live reactions on this month’s book to never-ending book-ish tangents, our BFF Group has it all. There are threads for everything happening in the book world—Wuthering Heights debates, the latest Bridgerton season drama, ACOTAR news, and beyond. If it’s bookish, we’re talking about it.

When Is the Book Club Meeting?

Our virtual meetings will take place on the final Thursday of every month at 7:30 PM CST, where we’ll dive deep into every thought, theory, and feeling about the book—gently guided by discussion questions we’ll send out the week prior so you have plenty of time to gather your thoughts. Some months, you might catch the author live or walk away with exclusive merch—just our little treat for showing up!

Sign up for our email list to receive the video invite and questions!

Books To Read if You Loved Love By The Book

Thought-provoking, compassionate, and full of unexpected turns, Best of Friends offers a riveting take on an age-old question: Does principle or loyalty make for the better friend?
15-year-old Mina’s whole world is her two best friends, but after an unexpected kiss, the established dynamics of their trio quickly unravel. Looking back, an adult Mina traces the undercurrents of longing that shaped her first experience of desire.
Smart, funny, and affecting, Jessica George’s Maame deals with the themes of our time with humor and poignancy: from familial duty and racism, to female pleasure, the complexity of love, and the life-saving power of friendship.
Growing up, Sula and Nel forge a bond stronger than anything, stronger even than the dark secret they have to bear. Strong enough, it seems, to last a lifetime—until, decades later, as the girls become women, Sula’s anarchy leads to a betrayal that may be beyond forgiveness.
Big-hearted, hilarious, and wise, Leave Your Mess At Home is a poignant exploration of forgiveness, unconditional love, and becoming who you want to be, asking the question: what do we owe to our families, and what do we owe to ourselves?

Books To Read if You Loved Let’s Not Go Overboard Here

This enemies-to-lovers favorite follows two public radio co-hosts forced to fake an exes-to-friends dynamic on a hit new podcast. Their on-air chemistry starts feeling all too real, making for a witty, warm rom-com that’s perfect for a beach day.
Mel’s entire personality is built on an encyclopedic knowledge of reality television, so if you want to go down the same rabbit hole, this is your read. Pulitzer-winning critic Emily Nussbaum traces the genre’s history from Candid Camera to The Real Housewives in a deeply reported, fascinating deep dive that will change the way you watch every reunion episode.
Mel’s yacht trip in Greece is pure aspirational chaos, and this novel serves up the same wealthy-people-behaving-badly energy. Set in a glamorous Fire Island summer community, it follows a group of privileged friends whose rivalries, affairs, and secrets unravel after a body washes up, making for a deliciously soapy, sharp thriller you won’t be able to put down.
For a lighter, lower-stakes romance with a fun premise, this one delivers charm in spades. It’s a playful, feel-good love story perfect for when you want to come down from the emotional gut-punch of Mel’s story and just enjoy something sweet and escapist.
For a glamorous getaway with a dark edge, this twisty thriller follows two childhood best friends to a gorgeous Italian villa with a sinister past. As tension builds between them, a decades-old murder at the same villa begins to resurface, making for an atmospheric, sun-soaked mystery full of simmering secrets.
For another read with a complicated, fixated heroine, this thriller follows a journalist obsessed with taking down the con artist who once duped her. It’s sharp, twisty, and built around the same kind of can’t-look-away pop culture spiral that powered Mel’s investigation, plus plenty of media-and-fame commentary.

A year after the sudden death of the sister who held them together, the three Blue sisters reunite in New York to stop the sale of their childhood home while struggling with grief, ambition, and the weight of the past. As old wounds resurface, they discover that the hardest truths to face may be the ones they’ve been hiding from themselves.
In the early 1980s, Giselle Chin, Jackie Ong, and Ellen Ng are three teenagers drawn together by their shared sense of alienation and desire for something different. They envision each other as artistic collaborators and embark on a future defined by freedom and creativity. By the time they are adults, their dreams are murkier. Over time their friendship matures and changes, their definitions of success become complicated, and their sense of what matters evolves as they strive to build satisfying lives in a world that turns out to be radically different from the one they were promised.

Meet Our Hosts

garri - everygirl book club host

Garri James, Senior Managing Editor

Garri, fearless leader of The Everygirl editorial team, is our resident fantasy expert. If you’ve ever stalked her on Goodreads, you may notice she’s reading seven books at once. As a mood reader who won’t hesitate to DNF a book if the vibes are even slightly off, this is entirely her prerogative. She’ll start a few books until one becomes so engrossing she simply forgets the others exist. Past books that have been able to do just that include anything by Ali Hazelwood, The Unmaking of June Farrow, The Second Death of Locke, and Throne of Glass. She primarily reads on her Kindle, often while her absolutely adorable baby naps in her other arm.

Read Garri’s articles on The Everygirl and follow @literarygarri.

lauren blue - everygirl book club host

Lauren Blue, Associate Editor

Lauren’s preferred genre is sad-girl lit fic books whose haters will accuse of having absolutely no plot. Who needs a plot when you have impeccable character development, people? When she’s not reading about two characters who are hopelessly in love but have zero communication skills, she loves a moody psychological thriller with a plot twist or a dark academia fantasy. Don’t worry, though—she still absolutely eats up a romance or romantasy moment here and there. She worships the ground Sally Rooney walks on (quotation marks be damned!), has a newfound obsession with Nathan Hill books, and, like every other girl on the internet, will never miss an Emily Henry release. Her favorite books of all time are the Neapolitan Novels by Elena Ferrante, but she’s always on the quest for a new number one.
