One thing you need to know about me: I love the holidays. I wait all year for the moment I can pull all my carefully packed boxes out of storage and commence hanging garlands, wreaths, bows, and twinkling lights across every surface. As you can imagine, I have quite the collection of holiday decorations already, but I always like to do some shopping ahead of the season for a few new additions. For someone who adores holiday decorating as much as me, however, the biggest challenge is always sticking to a theme. If left unchecked, I could easily fill up a cart with decorations I’ve deemed too cute to pass up—without regard to whether they actually match or go with what I already have. But to create a cohesive look (and stay within a reasonable budget), going in with a strategy is key.

If you also struggle with narrowing down your choices and finding holiday decor that actually feels like you, I’ve been there and I’m here to help. I’ve curated a bunch of holiday decorations based on different styles, so you can easily find festive decor that fits your vibe. Keep scrolling for your personal holiday decor inspo, based on your aesthetic:

Scandi Minimalism

For anyone who likes to stick to a neutral palette with their home decor, the bright reds and greens traditionally associated with the holiday season can feel a bit too garish. To stay true to your neutral-loving roots, layer in natural materials and plenty of texture for a more minimalist approach that still feels cozy and festive.

Moody Vintage

I love a moody, vintage-inspired look all year round but especially as the nights get colder and longer. Deep, jewel-tone colors and rich materials like velvet, antique brass, and faux fur are the perfect complements to cozy winter evenings spent by the fire.
