Most brides have an idea of what they want their wedding to look like, but with so many options and resources available, putting it all together can be very overwhelming and expensive. Some brides know their color scheme and florals before they’re even engaged, while others need a little inspiration to help figure out what feels right for them. Stylist Amber Whitehouse created this beautiful and intimate wedding at a peaceful friary in Madison, Wisconin. With a little DIY, local vendors, and a commitment to the rustic elegance style, she was able to create a gorgeous outdoor space to give any bride inspiration for her big day.
There are many resources for wedding decor inspiration, and endless options as far as color schemes, florals, dessert, photography, and style are concerned. Mood boards are a great resource for pulling images into one place. This can be done the old fashioned way with bridal magazines, or by creating a board on Pinterest.
When working with a limited budget, a little DIY goes a long way. Don’t be afraid to take on a few of the details yourself. The chandelier, structure, gold glitter apples, and Mr. and Mrs. signs were all DIY projects, and each added something beautiful and unique to this wedding. If DIY isn’t your thing, Etsy is another wonderful source for budget friendly handmade items. Whatever method you choose, there are many ways to create the wedding of your dreams on a budget. Whether you’re having your wedding by a lake, at the beach, or in your own backyard, it is possible to create the look and feel you’ve been dreaming of.

DIY Mason Jar Chandelier
1. Find an old metal circle ring (we used an old wreath frame from A La Crate Vintage).
2. Next, tie twine around approximately 15 mason jars and suspend from hooks on the circle ring.
3. Place tea lights in mason jars and suspend from ceiling or structure
4. Add morning glory vines around the ring.
